The sick king's bride to bring him good fortune

Chapter 7 The Crown Prince's Plot

"Have you found out?" Wei Jingye asked the man in black behind him in the study.

He was shrouded in darkness, radiating a suffocatingly cold temperature.

"Your Majesty, our people have been married off to a wealthy family and are now under strict surveillance."

"Where did that woman come from?" After a moment of contemplation, Wei Jingye's cool voice rang out.

The man in black naturally knew who the woman his master was talking about was. He immediately lowered his head even further and recounted everything that had happened that day, including how Ruan Mozhu had entered the brothel, how she had escaped but was mistaken for someone else by the Prince's men, captured, put in a bridal sedan chair, and sent to the Prince's mansion.

After the man in black finished speaking, the study fell silent. Wei Jingye remained silent, and the man in black naturally did not speak either.

Time passed slowly, and the man in black felt that about half an hour had passed before he saw the person in front of him slowly turn around.

The man in black was taken aback, only to be met with Wei Jingye's eyes, as dark as night: "Have you handled this matter properly?"

Seeing the glint in Wei Jingye's eyes, the man in black shuddered. Realizing he had been staring at Wei Jingye, he quickly lowered his head in fear: "Reporting to Master, everything has been resolved. No one will find out. Even if Prince Qi notices something is wrong, he will definitely not trace it back to us."

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard no further instructions from Wei Jingye. The man in black immediately felt a chill, thinking that his glance had angered Wei Jingye. He clenched his fists at his sides, about to apologize to Wei Jingye, when he heard Wei Jingye's voice again: "Go, take care of him. Make sure there is no evidence that could harm us."

"Yes," the man in black replied, clasping his hands in a fist salute as he prepared to leave.

"Wait!" Wei Jingye called out to the man in black, who paused slightly.

He immediately turned around and clasped his hands in a fist salute towards Wei Jingye: "Does Master have any further instructions?"

"Remember to investigate the woman who is now married to Wei Jingnan, and give me her information as soon as possible."

"Yes."

The man in black disappeared into the darkness, leaving Wei Jingye alone in the study, where silence fell.

"Ruan Mozhu?" After a long while, Wei Jingye's voice rang out again in the study. He stood in the darkness of the study, the candlelight only illuminating the slightly swaying hem of his clothes.

"Hehe, I want to see what kind of person you are that you could make Wei Jingnan's illness get better so quickly."

His voice was both alluring and chilling, a strange blend of qualities.

"Squeak."

Suddenly, the study door was pushed open from the outside, and the person who came in seemed slightly taken aback when they saw the darkness in the study.

Then she stepped in and asked, "What happened? Did Your Highness fail in dealing with Prince Qi?" Wen Caiqian approached Wei Jingye with a smile that seemed to be a provocation.

Wei Jingye glanced at her but didn't say anything.

Wen Caiqian didn't mind, she just shrugged slightly, looked at the scattered candlelight, and went forward to light all the remaining candles.

The view from the study suddenly became much wider.

"Why are you still unwilling to talk about what you did to Wei Jingnan? I know all about it."

Upon hearing this, Wei Jingye turned around and looked at Wen Caiqian, who was smiling. "What? You're not planning to join me in dealing with Wei Jingnan, are you?" Wei Jingye's last three words were full of humor, which made Wen Caiqian blush instantly.

恼的

"Wei Jingye!" she shouted loudly, her face still flushed.

Wei Jingye didn't mind. Instead, he walked towards Wen Caiqian, sat down in a chair, and poured himself a cup of tea. "What are you doing in my study? If you don't have anything to do, please leave," he said without any politeness, then took a sip of tea.

"Of course I'm here to hear how you plan to deal with Wei Jingnan. Why don't you want to talk to me? Maybe I can give you some advice." Wen Caiqian didn't care about Wei Jingye's impoliteness at all. She sat down opposite Wei Jingye and poured herself a cup of tea.

"Oh, Wen Caiqian, are you sure you want to deal with Wei Jingnan?" Wei Jingye asked, as if he had heard a joke, and then burst into laughter.

Seeing this, Wen Caiqian continued to drink her tea calmly, unaffected by Wei Jingye's laughter.

Seeing that she didn't seem to be joking, Wei Jingye gradually stopped smiling and looked at her as if she were looking at something new and interesting. He seemed to be thinking about something, and he gently rubbed his temple with one hand.

"Win over Wei Jingnan's new princess, and then start with her." After a moment, Wei Jingye actually said this.

Wen Caiqian seemed to have anticipated Wei Jingye's response, her alluring eyes gently sweeping across his face: "What are you planning to do?"

"Hehe." He suddenly chuckled softly, "Since you've already said you want to deal with Wei Jingnan, how about we work together to win over Ruan Mozhu?"

Upon hearing this, Wen Caiqian paused in her teacup-holding hand, then gave a faint smile: "Okay."
