Chapter 94 Draven
The carriage arrived at the entrance of the Glory Arena. Ato looked through the window and saw that no one was approaching.
The arena, which should have been the busiest place in the city, was deserted at this moment.
"Well, sir, I told you no one would watch the liquidation show. Where to go next?" The driver knew that Ato's destination was not here.
Ato stroked his chin and asked the driver, "Are there any casinos or taverns nearby? Something lively, take me there."
After losing popularity in the arena, Draven became disheartened and often spent his days hanging out in these places.
To maintain its dignity, the Immortal Fortress had a clear rule that these locations could not be set up on the main road, but only on dark alleys.
"Sir, the arena is deserted here, but the taverns and casinos are doing well! I know a 'Sharp Axe Tavern' nearby, I'll take you there now."
As the carriage entered a narrow alley, the coachman's expression became tense.
Atto could see some fierce-looking thugs staring at the carriage with cruel eyes.
Far from the main road, with rampant crime and close to the arena, Immortal Fortress has many such lawless areas.
"Sir, shall we go..." The coachman swallowed hard. If these thugs stole the horse, it would be a huge loss. It would take him three years' worth of income to buy just one horse.
"No need." Ato's mind stirred, and a rich blood aura emanated from the demonic sword, swirling around the carriage.
This is a warning: if anyone still overestimates themselves, Ator won't mind making them nourishment for the Demon Sword.
Those people sensed the blood energy, and their expressions changed slightly. Anyone who's in this line of work needs to know how to sense danger; otherwise, they would have died in some ditch long ago.
The bloodlust startled the driver, but Ato quickly said, "It's alright, you can continue now."
The driver subconsciously glanced back at his passenger, Atto, who was still in the same position as before, showing no signs of distress.
"Why did I have to run into such strange things? It's really not worth it for two hundred yuan..."
The carriage continued for a few more minutes before stopping at a corner.
"Sir, we've arrived at 'Axe Tavern,' and 'Storm Casino' is right across the street. Do you want to go anywhere else?" The coachman just wanted to leave immediately.
Ato shook his head helplessly, slung the magic sword over his shoulder, and jumped off the carriage: "Let's stop here."
The coachman breathed a sigh of relief, raised his whip and lashed it hard on the horse's rump. The old horse neighed and pulled the carriage away into the distance.
"I didn't expect things to start so badly today." Ato scratched his head. "Hopefully my ability to attract heroes will work. Draven is in one of these two places."
Ato pushed open the tavern door first, and the messy environment inside made him frown slightly.
People were drinking and bragging everywhere. When there weren't enough tables, they stood in groups of three or five. The liveliest place was a boxing ring at the far end, where many people were clapping and cheering.
Ato has been to bars before, but almost all bars only open late at night, while this pub is packed with people during the day.
He was still wearing the Noxian army armor today, which didn't look out of place with the greatsword behind him.
Soldiers from the army often frequented the tavern, so Atto didn't attract much attention when he entered.
He squeezed to the front of the bar and asked the bartender wiping glasses, "I'm looking for Draven. Do you know where he is? The infamous liquidator of the arena."
The bartender glanced up at Ato but didn't say anything, continuing to wipe the glass in his hands.
Are you kidding me? Are all bartenders in every other world like this? They won't answer your questions unless you give them a bribe?
Ato glanced at the counter and said to the bartender, "Give me a glass of rum."
The bartender finally stopped wiping and replied, "Eighty dollars."
Ato pulled out a hundred-dollar note: "Keep the change, just tell me where Draven is."
Seeing that the other party had given a tip, the bartender was satisfied and took a bottle of wine from the counter, poured some out and handed it to Ato.
"Draven only comes at night, and he comes every night. He gets drunk here and just falls asleep on the table. If you're in a hurry, you can go to the 'Storm Casino' across the street; he's there during the day."
"Thanks." Atto took the glass, drank it all in one gulp, put down the glass, and turned to leave.
What the bartender didn't see was that after drinking the rum, Ato stuck out his tongue and fanned his mouth with both hands.
"Drinking too fast, the wine is too strong..." Pushing open the tavern door, "Storm Casino" is right across the street.
At the entrance of the casino, a burly man, about as strong as Swain, stood guard and stopped Ato.
"Weapons are not allowed."
Ato was taken aback and subconsciously asked, "Why? Even taverns don't have this rule."
The burly man looked fierce, but surprisingly he was very patient.
He explained, "What do you think this is? This is a casino! One moment you're a millionaire, the next you're homeless. What do you think someone like that would do if they had a weapon?"
"Come with me. The weapon is in another room. You can get it when you come out."
Ato nodded silently. Even without the Demon Sword, he was now untouchable by ordinary people.
Just as Ato was about to follow the burly man inside, two casino staff members came out.
They dragged a somewhat ugly man out of the casino.
"Hmph, if you can't pay your gambling debts, then use your weapons as collateral! They're made of iron spike ore, after all."
The man had an exaggerated smile, with a mustache extending from the corner of his mouth to his chin, and several scars on his face.
"Hehe, can't you guys praise me a little more? I'm so trustworthy, I even entrusted my weapons to you..."
He was not fully conscious and seemed to still be intoxicated.
"He's here as soon as he said he would..." Ator recognized him, of course. His innate ability to always encounter heroes came into play again, and he found Draven without much effort.
"Sorry, I won't go in. Actually, I came to see him." He had a pretty good impression of the burly man.
The burly man raised an eyebrow and asked in surprise, "Were you sent by his brother? Hurry up and take him away, or he'll squander General Darius's fortune!"
Ato asked curiously, "How much did Draven lose exactly?"
Zhuang replied in a strange tone, "That's a number I wouldn't even dare to dream of. Actually, his assets were separate from General Darius's, but now he's completely bankrupt."
“His brother is the Hand of Noxus, with immeasurable wealth. He’s just a small liquidator. He squandered all the money he’s made over the years in less than a month.”
Ato suppressed a laugh, stepped forward, helped Draven up, and headed towards the nearby carriage gathering point.
"I wonder if Darius will come back and slap his brother when he sees how disappointing he is."
