Sweet Wife in a Warm Pet Contract

Chapter 201 A Ghostly Encounter

“Grandma, we’ll listen to Uncle. Don’t you also want Aunt to go home soon?” Li Jingwen was very sensible and immediately took over the baton.

"Alright, I'll do as you say. Grandma can go whenever you've made the arrangements. You and Xiaohan have to work hard. It's been so long and you still haven't given me a baby. I can't wait any longer, so I'll just give you orders to let others do all the work and stay home and make a baby for me!"

Runqiong's face darkened, and she brought up the same old harsh words again.

"Grandma, don't worry. Uncle is still young, and my aunt is a beauty. They'll definitely be able to have children. The more pressure you put on them, the less likely they are to succeed. Weren't you just discussing this with me? What do you think of my abilities?"

Li Jingwen cleverly steered the conversation back on track.

“Oh right, I almost forgot, Zhicheng, I want to recognize Jingwen as my grandson. Later, you can find someone to register his household registration in our family. I think having one more person in the family will give us more strength.”

Runqiong got excited; the mere mention of it made her seem incredibly energized.

"Grandma, are you sure?" Li Zhicheng looked at Li Jingwen suspiciously. Could it be that he instigated this? What benefits would he get from registering his household in Li Jingwen's name?

"I'm absolutely certain that I want Jingwen to get married and have children as soon as possible!"

"Grandma! Having a baby should be a natural process! Jingwen, don't register me in this household. Right now, it's just me, Grandma, and Father in the same household."

Li Zhicheng's change of surname was done very discreetly; no one would know. Perhaps he was overthinking it?

“This was my idea, it has nothing to do with Jingwen. Zhicheng, you and Jingwen have a very good relationship, don’t you want a younger brother?” Runqiong didn’t quite understand.

“Grandma, we’re doing just fine now. If you transfer this household registration, things will really get messed up. Let’s stop talking about this and not bring it up again. If we can continue to be good to each other, it doesn’t matter where the household registration is.” Li Zhicheng strongly resisted.

“That’s different. Now that he’s registered in our household, he’s truly part of our family. If anything happens to him in the future, you should protect him.”

“Grandma, if he is my good brother, I will help him no matter when or where.”

"you!"

“Grandma, since Uncle thinks it’s inappropriate, we won’t move. Don’t get angry over such a small thing. Look, your glare scares me. Don’t frighten me!” Li Jingwen said, resting his head on her shoulder.

Runqiong was touched by his thoughtful gesture. She shook her head and sighed. Well, she wouldn't force it, lest she quarrel with her grandson.

However, she had a vague sense of foreboding about the meeting.

After booking the restaurant, Li Zhicheng sent the address to Shen Menghan. He asked Defu to pick up his grandmother, and he would drive there himself. He also asked her to bring her maternal grandmother, Aunt Shen, and Qin Fengjiao along.

"Mom, when we meet, don't ask so many questions," Shen Menghan said, worried that she might upset her grandmother.

"I definitely have to ask the questions I need to ask. You're not even married into the family yet, and you're already helping them. You'll definitely suffer in the future."

"Mom, I'm not worried at all. I'm just worried that this meeting will turn out badly." Shen Menghan was genuinely worried; for some reason, her heart was pounding nonstop.

"Xiaohan, how is his grandma?" Grandma was concerned about this.

"Well, it's alright. She's relatively easy to get along with. I'll have to spend more time with her to know the specifics."

This was undoubtedly an indirect admission that they had met.

Grandma didn't ask any more questions. Xiaohan was gentle and could get along with anyone as long as no one bothered her.

They arrived at the Chinese restaurant quickly. Qin Fengjiao got out first, and together with Aunt Shen, they helped her grandmother out of the car. Then they settled the wheelchair and helped her sit down. Shen Menghan handed the car to the security guard to park, and then pushed her grandmother. The four of them walked into the restaurant together.

Li Zhicheng originally wanted to invite his mother along, as he hadn't been in contact with her for some time. He thought it would be better to let his grandmother meet her first, and he could see her again in the future if the opportunity arose.

He watched from upstairs and when he saw them arrive, he became incredibly nervous. The atmosphere of this meeting between the two sets of parents felt even more urgent than discussing a business deal worth hundreds of thousands.

“This place is really nice, and the layout is great too. If only the houses in our village could be turned into lofts like this, how wonderful that would be!” Grandma said, her voice strong and firm.

Mentioning this, Shen Feng looked at her daughter. She had said she would help, but a day had passed and there was still no news.

"Mom, there's been some news from Zhicheng, but it's not confirmed yet, so he doesn't dare tell you yet. He'll tell you when his news is confirmed." Shen Menghan understood her look and explained for Li Zhicheng. He said he would help, and with his abilities, he certainly wouldn't go back on his word; it just takes some time.

Shen Feng nodded. This was a very important matter, and it would probably require many unorthodox methods to resolve.

Runqiong was flipping through a magazine. She was still feeling rather uneasy. After all, this was a major life event for Zhicheng. She wasn't angry that he had kept it from her before, but now that they were going to meet, it was like starting the ceremony all over again.

The waiter helped open the door, and Shen Menghan went in first, then led Qin Fengjiao in pushing her grandmother in.

Shen Feng entered. She had just been admiring the nice decor, but when she looked up and saw Runqiong sitting there, her face instantly turned ashen!

"Xiaohan, are you sure you haven't gone to the wrong place?" she asked in a low voice, her gaze filled with hatred as she looked at Runqiong.

“That’s right, look, Zhicheng is there, and Grandma is there too.” Shen Menghan didn’t think there was anything wrong with it.

"Let's go, I don't agree to you continuing your relationship, let's go back right now!" Shen Feng turned around and waved to Qin Fengjiao, signaling her to step back.

"Aunt Shen, come in quickly." Li Zhicheng was completely confused as he watched them arrive and then leave again.

"Zhicheng, I don't approve of your relationship with Xiaohan. Don't bother her again, or I'll chop you up!" Shen Feng's tone was extremely fierce, completely different from before. She seemed to have encountered a monstrous flood and couldn't let her daughter pass by.

Li Zhicheng was extremely anxious. He looked at Shen Menghan with a bewildered expression, and she was equally puzzled, her expression even more confused than his.

"Auntie?" Qin Fengjiao felt that the scene had changed too quickly, and she was completely caught off guard, not understanding where things had gone wrong.

Grandma was also puzzled, then she looked at Runqiong carefully and seemed to understand. She instructed Qin Fengjiao, "Linglong, push me out. I feel very uncomfortable here." She covered her chest with her hand, as if she couldn't breathe.

Qin Fengjiao was startled, and Shen Menghan was also anxious. She quickly pushed her way out before daring to ask, "Grandma, shall we go to the hospital?"

"Get out of here, immediately!" Grandma said in a commanding tone, not allowing them any room for doubt.
