Lin Ting remained largely silent throughout the social gathering.

She was initially worried that Jiang Zong would feel uncomfortable attending the social gatherings alone, but she found that although he was still not very talkative, he was quite at ease.

"I need to go to...listen this afternoon? What's wrong?" Jiang Zong said, suddenly noticing Lin Ting rubbing her head. "Headache?"

"No, it's just a little itchy."

Lin Ting rubbed her head a couple of times, then put her hands down and asked him, "Where are you going this afternoon?"

"Go find Mr. Zhang to deliver the project proposal." Jiang Zong looked at her. "Should I take you back to the hotel first? Or do you want to go find Duan Jun?"

Without hesitation, Lin Ting made a third choice: "I'll stay with you."

She was curious whether Jiang Zong's approach was the same as she had imagined, and also wanted to help him share some of the pressure.

And, to prevent Jiang Zong from beating up Mr. Zhang at the slightest provocation.

"Aren't you tired?"

"I'm not tired."

"Well."

Without further ado, the two went back to the company to get the revised project proposal and went straight to Mr. Zhang's office.

In the past, when Zhou Rui or other people from the company came to deliver project proposals, the person who would receive them was usually Mr. Zhang's secretary. This time, however, there was an exception. Mr. Zhang "just happened" to have finished a meeting, and they went straight into the office.

This Mr. Zhang is named Zhang Shihai. He has a square face and his eyes are hidden behind thick glasses for nearsightedness.

When the two entered, he was reviewing documents. He glanced at them briefly, said "Sit" without any expression of joy or sorrow, and then continued with his work.

He didn't keep them waiting for long. He finished reviewing the document in three to five minutes, put down his pen, and looked up, seemingly not intending to make them wait.

"Come, let me see."

Zhang Shihai didn't bother with pleasantries and simply extended his hand.

Jiang Zong handed over the bound project proposal, without any intention of exchanging pleasantries.

Zhang Shihai was very thin, his shirt hanging loosely on his body, his thin fingers flipping through the project proposal, reading it word by word with great care.

He read the document much more slowly than before, barely missing a single punctuation mark, and occasionally asking a question or two.

Jiang Zongyan's concise and fluent answers were impeccable.

Lin Ting sat quietly, watching without saying a word.

Zhang Shihai closed the project proposal after reading the last word.

He was frowning, and it was unclear what was troubling him.

His fingers tapped lightly on the document. After a moment of hesitation, he slowly began to speak: "Your project..."

"Mr. Zhang, please have some water first."

Lin Ting suddenly interrupted him and casually pushed his teacup next to him.

Zhang Shihai was slightly taken aback. Under Lin Ting's unwavering gaze, he subconsciously picked up his teacup.

While he was busy with other things, Lin Ting smiled and said, "You see, we've done this project proposal many times before. We did make some oversights before, but thanks to your timely corrections, we were able to avoid some unnecessary trouble later."

"We were saying before that we are so lucky to have such a strict leader like you. We can only improve if you criticize us more!"

Zhang Shihai looked at Lin Ting with great interest, a slight smile appearing on his usually tense lips: "Thank me? You've probably been badmouthing me behind my back!"

Lin Ting looked at him with genuine sincerity: "How could that be? Our General Manager Jiang said that only a good leader like you would be patient with us. If it were anyone else, they would probably be held accountable."

Zhang Shihai subconsciously took another sip of tea.

Lin Ting stared at him, a smile still playing on her lips, but her words took a different turn:

"If there are any problems with this project proposal, please feel free to point them out. However, we will not bother you again in the short term. We can't expect you to personally teach a group of kids. So if this doesn't work out, we will rebuild the team. After the overseas project is completed, a more professional person will take over this project."

Upon hearing this, Zhang Shihai paused, his hand holding the teacup still.
