Chapter 19 The Unlucky Little Brother

Brother Qi suffers from azoospermia. After three years of marriage, he has been unable to get his wife pregnant. The constant arguments at home are greatly affecting the original owner of this body, who is facing the college entrance examination.

In this environment, the original owner stuffed cotton balls into his ears and kept doing practice problems, eventually getting into his dream university.

Originally, she thought this would allow her to escape the chaotic Qi family. However, the day before she was to go to university, her family said they wanted to celebrate, which was also a way of sending her off. They prepared many of the original owner's favorite dishes at home, and Qi's mother even had Qi's older brother personally pour her a glass of wine.

"You're an adult now, you can drink. We're happy today, having a drink won't hurt." Mother Qi said cheerfully. Hearing Mother Qi say this, the original owner did not refuse. After drinking a cup of wine, his whole body began to feel hot, and two double images appeared in front of him.

The original owner thought he couldn't hold his liquor well, so he didn't eat much and left the table.

"Mom, I think I've had too much to drink. I'll go back to my room and lie down." The original owner shook his head, and after saying this, he stumbled towards his room. He finally managed to push open the door and collapsed onto the bed.

In her sleep, the original owner felt someone taking off her clothes. She thought it was her mother who was worried that she would be uncomfortable sleeping in her outer clothes, so she did not resist.

Feeling his pants being pulled down, and the hand continuing to pull down his underwear, the original owner's hazy mind cleared for a moment, and he also grabbed his underwear tightly, not wanting to be naked.

"Ah Yuan, it's your older brother. Let go, I'll change your pajama bottoms for you..." Hearing his older brother's voice, the original owner was immediately relieved and stopped resisting, letting his older brother strip him naked.

Another wave of dizziness washed over him. When the original owner woke up again, he felt someone pulling at his pants, saying, "No, he's unconscious, we can't do this..."

After a woman's voice, a man's voice rang out.

"What should we do? My little brother is going to university tomorrow, and he won't have such a good opportunity anymore..."

The familiar figures were none other than Brother Qi and Sister-in-law Qi. The original owner's unclear mind suddenly awoke, and after realizing something was wrong, he opened his eyes, somewhat incredulous.

"Big brother, sister-in-law, you..." At this moment, the original owner's head was still a little dizzy, and his voice was weak.

"Husband, what should we do? He's woken up..." Sister-in-law Qi was startled when she suddenly heard the original owner's voice. She turned around and looked at Brother Qi standing to the side, somewhat at a loss.

"Ah Yuan, be good. Your brother and sister-in-law have no other choice. We'll just borrow some things. If you help your brother out, consider it a debt he owes you. In the future..." Before Brother Qi could finish speaking, the original owner bit her tongue hard, and blood instantly welled up. She felt a metallic taste of blood in her mouth, and she was able to regain some clarity.

Looking at the couple pleading desperately before him, the original owner felt only a sense of unfamiliarity and dread. The older brother actually wanted to… Having received nine years of compulsory education, the original owner couldn't accept this fact. Forcing himself to stay upright, he fumbled with his clothes, hastily putting them on.

Seeing this, Brother Qi grabbed the original owner of the body and said angrily, "This is all something you owe me. If it weren't for Mom giving birth to you, I wouldn't have gone hungry as a child. If I had enough nutrition, I wouldn't have developed azoospermia. This is something you owe me, and you have to pay it back..."

"Wife, go lock the door from the inside..." With each word Brother Qi spoke, the original owner's mind became a little clearer.

What do you mean I owe him? He's eighteen this year, and his older brother is already twenty-six, an eight-year age difference. How could I possibly steal his food? When his older brother was still a child, he wasn't even born yet. What could he possibly have to steal? Why doesn't his older brother say it's because he was very spoiled as a child. He would rather go hungry than eat if no one fed him, and he was already full of snacks during the day, so why would he want to eat a proper meal?

Putting that aside, azoospermia isn't necessarily caused by malnutrition. Besides genetic reasons, there's also the possibility of precocious puberty. I heard that my older brother picked up a bad habit when he was in elementary school. He was the one who caused it, so why blame it on himself?

The original owner refused to comply and kept begging for mercy in order to stop the couple's absurd behavior. However, begging for mercy did not stop the couple from doing so. Helpless, the original owner still said that he would call the police.

These words really triggered Brother Qi's tense nerves. He picked up a pillow and slammed it over the original owner's head. The original owner tried to struggle, but firstly, he was weak all over because he had drunk the drugged wine, and secondly, he was controlled and could not move his hands and feet. His struggles were only slight movements.

Soon after, the original owner was left with only a feeling of suffocation. Before dying, the original owner was still regretting why he had drunk that glass of wine and why he hadn't gone to school to register earlier.

After death, the original owner's soul stayed at home for a few days, witnessing Brother Qi and Sister-in-law Qi stage the scene to look like a suicide by hanging. They even forged their own handwriting, claiming that they had lost their minds while drunk, offended Sister-in-law, and felt ashamed to face their family, which is why they committed suicide.

Whether Qi's mother believed it or not, she didn't question the original owner's death. Coincidentally, Qi's sister-in-law's father worked at the crematorium, and somehow, without going through the police, they transported the original owner's body directly to the crematorium.

Watching himself being pushed into the furnace and ultimately reduced to ashes, the original owner went mad. His soul was captured, which led to the arrival of the prayer.

If you were to ask whether the original owner hated the Qi family, the answer would be yes. But even so, the original owner's only wish was to leave the Qi family as soon as possible. As for revenge, he never mentioned it.

"Ah Yuan, let's have a small gathering at home tonight to celebrate your admission to university and send you off. Be sure to come back early this afternoon!" As Qi Yuan left, Qi's mother quickly repeated what her older brother had told her this morning.

After the college entrance examination, the original owner found a summer job, working from nine to four every day, earning more than seven thousand yuan a month. During the two-month vacation, he earned more than ten thousand yuan. The original owner planned to use this money to buy gifts for his family, but now he doesn't need it.

"Mom, who's coming tonight?" Qi Yuan paused as she opened the door, then asked with a smile.

"There are only four people in our family: me, you, your older brother, and your sister-in-law," Mother Qi said truthfully when her youngest son asked.

"Mom, why don't we invite my sister-in-law's family along? She hasn't been home in ages, let's have a meal together and make it more lively?"

"Why are you calling them? I don't want to listen to them..." Mother Qi was very unhappy, but when she heard her sister-in-law's words from her maternal family, her expression changed immediately.

"Mom! Look how well your son got into such a good school, aren't you going to take this opportunity to show off? Back then, your sister-in-law's family bragged to you about how well their child was educated..."

"Alright then, I'll call my in-laws in a bit and ask." Remembering how her mother-in-law always praised her for raising her sister-in-law so well, and how her family had even produced a college student, Qi's mother felt that what Qi Yuan said was very true, and a smile returned to her face.

Upon hearing what Qi's mother said, Qi Yuan didn't say much more. After telling Qi's mother that he would see her that evening, he put on his shoes and left home.

My summer job ended yesterday, and I'm here today to collect my wages; it didn't take long.

In his previous life, the original owner spent a day shopping with a salary of over ten thousand yuan, buying gifts for Qi's mother, elder brother, and sister-in-law. He put in a lot of effort and money, but in the end, he was betrayed and died.

Praying for them isn't something to be taken advantage of; don't even think about buying them gifts.

After playing outside all day, and estimating that it was almost time, Qiyuan slowly headed home.

As soon as she entered, Qi Yuan saw her sister-in-law's parents sitting on the sofa in the living room, looking impatient but having no choice but to listen.

"Mother-in-law, my son A-Yuan..." Qi's mother seemed oblivious to her in-laws' expressions, and proceeded to praise Qi Yuan eloquently.

Hearing the door open, everyone's eyes turned to look at her. Qi Yuan saw a momentary expression of relief on her sister-in-law's parents' faces and almost couldn't help but laugh out loud. Just how much had Qi's mother been nagging them that they could still show such an expression?

"Ah Yuan is back? Come quickly, let your in-laws see her..." When Qi's mother saw that the person who came was Qi Yuan, she beckoned Qi Yuan over so that she could show off for the next time.

Qi Yuan nodded obediently, walked to stand beside his mother, and listened to her praise him without blushing at all.

Despite being thirsty, Mother Qi kept talking until it was time to eat, before finally stopping, still feeling unsatisfied.

At the dinner table, Brother Qi, just like in his previous life, suggested having a drink. Qi Yuan wanted to refuse, but then heard her mother urging her to drink, so she continued to refuse. Seeing that she couldn't persuade her, Brother Qi brought out some wine from the house and filled the three ladies' glasses. In this way, everyone was drinking, and Qi Yuan was the only one not drinking. If she refused again, it would be in her wrong.

Qi Yuan was just waiting for Brother Qi to pour drinks for the ladies, so seeing this, she didn't refuse, but still nodded reluctantly.

"Come on, let's have a drink to celebrate A-Yuan getting into university..." Brother Qi raised his glass, and the others followed suit. All eyes were on Qi Yuan. Qi Yuan reluctantly raised his glass, which clinked against Brother Qi's. He then drank it all in one gulp.

After downing a glass of wine, five minutes later, Qi Yuan pretended to be unable to hold her liquor, staggered off the table, and walked towards the bedroom, though her lowered head concealed the clarity in her eyes.

Back in the bedroom, listening to the clinking of glasses outside, Qi Yuan smiled.

Twenty minutes later, the noise outside gradually subsided. Qi Yuan opened the door and peeked through the crack. Everyone was slumped over the table. Only then did she push the door open and walk out.

Qi's mother was led to her own bedroom and the door was closed. Since Qi's mother hadn't interfered in her past life, she wouldn't involve her in this one either.

After the four were sent back to their respective bedrooms in pairs, Qi Yuan gave each of them a pill that melted in their mouths before they went back to their rooms to sleep.

There's a big show tomorrow, so I need to get some sleep and be well-rested. Otherwise, how can the show go on without him?

The next morning, around 6:30, the time when Qi Mu usually gets up, Qi Yuan was awakened by Qi Mu's screaming.

"Mom? What's wrong? What's wrong?" Qi Yuan pretended to be worried about her mother and ran out without even putting on her shoes. What she saw was her mother clutching her chest with one hand and pointing at the guest room with the other, staring wide-eyed and screaming.

"Oh my God, my sister-in-law and..." The window was open, and in the quiet morning, the sound of prayer was loud and could be heard from every house in the neighborhood.

"Mom, where's my brother?" Qi Yuan asked without waiting for her mother's reaction. She ran to her brother's bedroom. The door was half open. Without even pushing it open, she saw her brother frowning, still sleepy, with an obvious displeasure at being woken up. In his arms was a figure that was clearly not her sister-in-law.

"Mom! My older brother and...!" The voice was loud and clear, and Qi Yuan heard the sound of windows being opened in the surrounding houses.

The four were completely awakened by the sound of prayers. They opened their eyes to see what was happening, only to find people lying next to them who should never have been in their beds in their entire lives. Four screams rang out, followed by the sounds of frantic dressing and explanations.

Qi's mother was in good health and did not faint from the surprise.

"Mom, this is too embarrassing. I can't stay here anymore. I'm leaving right now." Qi Yuan pretended to be extremely ashamed and indignant. She went back to her room to pack her luggage. Just two minutes later, she opened the security door of the house with the suitcase she had packed the night before.

As soon as the door opened, the door opposite also quietly opened a crack.

Even if Qi Mu wanted to stop her, she couldn't.

"Ah Yuan, don't go..." Qi's mother didn't know what to do. She was too shocked and her mind was still a little blank. She only knew that she should stop Qi Yuan and not let him leave.

"Mom! My older brother and... my sister-in-law and... How am I, a child who has just come of age, supposed to face this? I think I'll just go to school. Let the adults handle this." With that one sentence, she made things clear. Surely, the whole neighborhood would know about the scandal that happened to the Qi family very quickly.

Qi Yuan left with her suitcase, taking with her her household registration book and other identification documents before she left.

Qi's father was a visionary patriarch. Two years before his death, the old house was being relocated, and two houses were allocated, one large and one small. To prevent future disputes between the brothers over the houses, Qi's father decided to give the larger house to Qi's eldest brother and put Qi's name on the smaller house.

After registering the two houses, Qi's father immediately separated Qi Yuan's household registration.

Now that Qi Yuan's wish has been fulfilled, with a separate household registration, no one can use the registration to control him anymore. In the previous life, Qi Yuan's elder brother and sister-in-law schemed against him not only because they wanted a child with Qi family blood, but also because they wanted to take over the original owner's house.

He boarded the high-speed train to university, and even on the train, he didn't forget to list the house under his name online. He would never come back here again, and I suppose the original owner of this body felt the same way.

After the original owner returned to her body, she focused on attending university and worked part-time in her spare time.

In the second semester of her freshman year, Qi's mother found the original owner of the body and said that Qi's older brother had died, and hoped that she could live with the original owner from now on. The original owner did not believe that Qi's older brother had died accidentally, and persuaded Qi's mother to go back and report it to the police.

Later, Qi's sister-in-law and her father were arrested, and it was said that the two of them conspired to kill Qi's elder brother.

Because Sister-in-law Qi was pregnant, she was not detained for the time being. Qi's mother thought that Sister-in-law Qi was carrying her eldest son's child, so she temporarily forgot the fact that her daughter-in-law had killed her son, and focused on taking care of her daughter-in-law, and even issued a letter of forgiveness.

A year after giving birth, Sister-in-law Qi was detained, and Qi's mother lived with her grandson who had a congenital disease.

The original owner did not return to his hometown, nor did he bring his mother to live with him. He was busy with work and studies, and before graduating, he partnered with a classmate to start a small company. By the time he graduated, the company had expanded and provided many job opportunities for alumni.

Ten years later, on her deathbed, Qi's mother finally told the original owner that her eldest brother suffered from azoospermia. Upon learning this news, Qi's mother died with her eyes wide open in disbelief.
