Godslayer: My Girlfriend Red Tassel
Chapter 704 The Mermaid Princess
"A lost wanderer, or an invited guest?" one of the guards asked in a deep voice.
As Su Yan was considering how to answer, another guard suddenly spoke up: "I sensed the aura of our own kind on you. Do you carry any tokens?"
"A token..."
With a thought, Su Yan took out the thin scale that No. 22 had given him. As soon as he held it in his palm, the scale began to glow faintly. Then, a faint but clear spiritual fluctuation came from the depths of the city, connecting with him through the scale. The fluctuation carried obvious joy and invitation.
"Ho..."
The two Naga guards simultaneously put away their weapons, their tense expressions easing. Although the scaly corners of their mouths made their slightly upturned smiles appear somewhat ferocious, Su Yan could sense that they were meant to be friendly.
"So you are guests of the Fishtail Tavern," the guard's voice softened considerably. "Please come in quickly, don't keep Princess Fishtail waiting."
They enthusiastically pointed out the directions, then turned and continued their patrol.
"The Mermaid Princess?" Shen Qingzhu lowered her voice. "Could she be the one who was tricked into getting pregnant by Number 22?"
"I don't know, but I have a bad feeling about it."
Su Yan's expression was somewhat solemn. He originally thought that the scales were just a token to summon the giant whale, but he did not expect that they were closely related to the mermaid himself.
If the other party is indeed a pregnant woman who was drugged and abandoned by No. 22, and is also a princess... who knows if she will take her anger out on me?
The scales were now fully activated, flashing light intermittently. The closer one got to the direction the guard was pointing, the more rapidly they flashed, clearly indicating that this was a two-way positioning device.
"Are you going?" Shen Qingzhu's expression was equally serious.
Su Yan pondered for a moment, then nodded:
“We have to go. It’s because of this scale that we’re considered ‘invited guests.’ You saw the guards’ attitude. If we were ‘lost wanderers,’ the outcome might not have been so friendly.”
Although the country seems relatively friendly to humans, judging from the behavior of Aunt Melanie and Talia, without their status as "guests," they would likely face various checks and even restrictions on their freedom.
The current situation is already the best possible start.
“Then let’s go.” Shen Qingzhu nodded, her brows still furrowed with worry. “I just don’t know how Qi Ye and the others are doing now. They don’t have the status of guests. If they are questioned by the guards, I wonder what will happen to them.”
Su Yan was equally uncertain, but for now he could only take it one step at a time. He suppressed the heaviness in his heart and forced a lighthearted smile:
"Don't worry, even if it's bad, it can't be as cruel as being dragged around by a sea cucumber by a girl... To be honest, if I encountered that, it would be worse than death!"
Shen Qingzhu's face flushed crimson, and she rushed forward frantically, grabbing Su Yan's neck with both hands and shaking him while growling:
"Damn it, shut up... You swear you won't tell anyone else! You swear it!"
"Cough, let go, you're going to die..."
"Then hurry up and swear an oath!!"
……
Following the directions indicated by the scales, Su Yan and Shen Qingzhu quickly arrived at the Fish Tail Tavern.
It was a giant scallop structure with its mouth half open, covering an area of over 300 square meters, radiating a warm, pearly glow in the dark seabed.
"If you put some garlic and vermicelli in this... it would smell amazing." Su Yan couldn't help but swallow.
There were so many people that Su Yan and her companion could hardly squeeze in. They peered through the window and, looking past the layers of people, saw all sorts of mermaids singing and dancing in the tavern, drinking large cups of beverages.
On the central stage, a male and a female mermaid are playing a delightful tavern tune; the sounds of the ukulele and flute are exceptionally pleasant.
"Don't they have to work? They seem so happy." Shen Qingzhu asked softly, pointing to the charming female mermaid in the center of the stage.
"Could that be the Mermaid Princess?"
Su Yan followed the gaze and recalled the description of the mermaid he had gotten pregnant: long pink seaweed hair, azure eyes, full red lips, and a blue fish tail... all the features matched.
"Does a princess need to sing in a tavern? Is she the kind of princess who earns 100,000 a month and can do it secretly?" Su Yan felt that something was not right.
Just then, the music stopped abruptly.
The princess said something to those around her, and the crowded people dispersed in an orderly fashion, leaving only the wary Su Yan and his companion outside the door.
"Come in, the princess has been waiting for you for a long time."
Following her into the tavern, they met another mermaid who had been playing the ukulele on stage earlier—a fat mermaid uncle who was over two meters tall and weighed at least 500 pounds.
He turned around, carefully examined the two of them, and suddenly smiled broadly, saying kindly, "Haha~ I've finally found you! Which one of you is my son?"
Su Yan didn't react for a moment.
"Still playing dumb? Are you embarrassed to see your old man?" The fat mermaid swam over, swishing his big tail, his face full of smiles. "Where are your scales? Take them out and let me see."
Scales? Something's wrong!
Su Yan's mind raced, her gaze sweeping quickly across the figure before finally settling on the fat mermaid charging like a rhinoceros—pink seaweed hair, azure eyes, bright red lips, and a blue fishtail...
What the hell!
Although it seemed absurd, instinct prevailed. Su Yan quickly pulled out a scale and stuffed it into Shen Qingzhu's hand, then pushed him forward, saying, "Brother Zhai, play it by ear!"
Shen Qingzhu, holding the scale, stumbled and bumped into the mermaid's arms.
"Oh, it's you!" The fat mermaid's eyes lit up, and she hugged the bewildered Shen Qingzhu tightly, tears instantly streaming down her face like a torrential downpour.
"My child, you've suffered so much these past years!"
Shen Qingzhu: “…”
......
"You came from the land, didn't you?"
In the warm tavern, the fat mermaid embraced the lifeless Shen Qingzhu and said:
"I am the Mermaid Princess you are looking for. A few days ago, when I sensed that the keepsake I left behind had been activated, I thought he had changed his mind... but unfortunately, I never got to see him again."
He sighed, then smiled again:
"But it's alright, my long-lost child has finally returned, and this tavern finally has someone to inherit it."
Su Yan finally recovered from her shock and couldn't help but ask, "Uncle, you're probably male, right? Where did this address come from...?"
"It's a beautiful misunderstanding," the fat mermaid explained with a smile.
“I’ve been to the mainland and know that it’s a title for a princess where you are. But here, it’s just a common surname. My aunt is called Princess Audrey, my uncle is called Princess Hillman, and I am called Princess Fishtail.”
This explanation left Su Yan speechless for a moment.
"You must be starving, coming from such a faraway place."
At this moment, the charming mermaid girl from the kitchen emerged. She placed two meals in front of Su Yan and Shen Qingzhu respectively, smiled gently, swayed her delicate fishtail, and looked at the two with her chin resting on her hand.
"Try it, I made it for you myself."
Although she was a mermaid, she was indeed very beautiful... Su Yan couldn't help but take a few more glances.
While Talia was very beautiful before, it was clearly a youthful beauty, quite immature. The mermaid girl before them, however, was different; she was fully developed, and her development was perfect.
Her entire body exuded mature charm, and she wore very little clothing. Scales spread from her waist, barely covering a small patch of her private area.
The rest was all large swathes of white skin.
...Wow, that's huge!
Do not look at what is improper, do not look at what is improper... Luckily I am a gentleman, if it were a fat man, I would probably pounce on it and suffocate to death!
Su Yan quickly looked away and looked down at the plate in front of her.
The dark, unappetizing food was strangely tempting, making one want to devour it.
