Yun Luo felt a flutter in her heart every time she met Qin Zheng's gaze.

His gaze was so deep and focused, it seemed he could see into her heart and uncover all her secrets.

Her face flushed red. "I have some things to attend to at Zhaofang. I'll go there first."

She practically fled as if escaping a disaster, only feeling her thoughts return once she entered the kitchen.

Oh my god, why is she so nervous after just one glance?

Yunlu didn't think much of it, only feeling guilty for saying those things.

After calming down for a while, she took a basin and mixed cornmeal and wheat flour to make some steamed buns for Qin Zheng to take on the road.

While waiting for the mixture to ferment, she chopped the pork, alternating between lean and fatty pieces, and added soy sauce, salt, and wine in that order. She then stirred it and set it aside. She also diced shiitake mushrooms and fried them into a fragrant jar of shiitake mushroom and pork sauce.

When you're out and about and there's not much good food, adding some meat sauce makes steamed buns more flavorful.

She was very satisfied. She washed her hands, poked the dough, and found it had fermented just right. The fire in the stove was a little small, so Yunlu bent down to prepare to start a strong fire. A hand came over and they held the same piece of firewood.

The warm touch on his hand felt like an electric shock. Yun Luo quickly pulled his hand back and took a few steps back. "Brother Qin, why did you come in!"

"No need to prepare so much. In the past, when I went up the mountain, I only brought a few cornbread buns, enough to fill my stomach," Qin Zheng said as he stuffed firewood into the stove.

"Hasn't Xiaoran's mother prepared this for you before?" Yun Luo asked subconsciously as she kneaded the dough.

After saying that, the two of them were stunned at the same time. The only sound in the kitchen was the crackling of burning firewood.

Qin Zheng's eyes held a deep look, as if he wanted to say something, but then he held back and remained silent.

After the steamed buns were cooked and the fire was turned off, the two went back to their respective rooms to sleep.

When Yunluo lay down, the two little ones were already dreaming.

However, she was wide awake.

I tossed and turned in bed several times, watching the moon slowly climb up outside the window, my mind still very clear.

Her mind was filled with thoughts of the kitchen and her conversation with Qin Zheng.

Why not say a word? You could at least tell her some basic information.

In the middle of the night, Yun Luo got up and went to the yard to count the stars. He pushed open the door and went out. A dark figure came into view. The figure also saw him. In the darkness, his eyes were particularly bright.

"Why aren't you asleep?" Qin Zheng stopped what he was doing, his eyes flickering.

Yun Luo feigned a yawn. "It's a bit stuffy in the room, so I came out for some fresh air. Why isn't Brother Qin asleep?"

"I can't sleep." Qin Zheng was honest, wiping away sweat, his well-defined muscles gleaming.

Yun Luo's eyes darkened, and she felt a chill in the night wind, instinctively hugging herself.

"It's windy outside, remember to wear a coat next time you go out." Qin Zheng's voice rang in my ears, accompanied by the cool scent emanating from the man.

Yunlu felt a weight on her shoulder as a garment was draped over her shoulders.

She stared blankly at the man beside her, her legs feeling weak and her breathing quickening.

This man was naked and standing so close to her; he had a perfect figure and firm lines.

That was so awesome!

Yunlu felt a heat in her nose, and a warm stream flowed down her cheeks.

"Your nose is bleeding!" Qin Zheng was also taken aback. A nosebleed in the middle of the night made him wonder if there was something wrong with Yun Luo's health. "Wait a minute!"

Qin Zheng acted swiftly, finding a strip of cloth to wipe her clean before plugging it up. He then pulled her to the water's edge, lifted her collar, and helped her soak in the water.

After repeating this several times, he finally asked in a low voice, "Are you feeling any better?"

Yunlu shook her head; she was dying.

They died from the heat!

Qin Zheng sensed her unusual behavior, abruptly withdrew his hand, took a few steps back, and a deep look appeared in his eyes. "Are you... alright?"

"It's nothing, I just have a bit of a sore throat!" Yun Luo said calmly, but inside she was panicking.

"Brother Qin, I'll go inside first. You have a long journey ahead of you tomorrow, so get some rest." Yun Luo said a few words in a serious manner, then entered the house with steady steps. The moment she closed the door, her face turned bright red.

The man in the courtyard stood there for a full fifteen minutes before going back inside.

After the awkwardness of the previous night, Yunluo didn't dare to look at him the next morning and just focused on doing her work.

Qin Zheng wanted to talk to her several times, but seeing her indifferent attitude, he had no choice but to hold back.

“Yunluo…”

A voice came from outside the house, full of energy; it was Fatty.

She arrived in a flurry, like a tornado. Upon seeing Qin Zheng, the chubby girl grinned, "Brother Qin, you're home too?"

"Okay, I'll leave in a bit!"

Fatty also noticed the bundle on the table, along with some clothes and food, which were laid out on the table.
