A Happy Event in a Farming Family: Marrying a Hunter

Before Yun Luo could speak, Qin Zheng had already silently paid the money, taken the pork, and led her to another place.

The two strolled around for a while and bought a piece of pork, some potatoes, a cabbage, two pounds of fine rice, as well as some oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar. They packed it into a small bag, which Qin Zheng carried.

"Wait here for me, I'll be right back." Qin Zheng took off his clothes, placed them on a rock, and told her to sit and wait. Then he disappeared without a trace.

Yunlu felt a little helpless. She wasn't that delicate; she needed her clothes to cushion her seat.

She picked up Qin Zheng's clothes and waited where she was.

The wait wasn't long; soon she noticed he was carrying a large, bulging bundle on his shoulder. She didn't ask, assuming it was for the two children.

Once home, Qin Zheng placed the bundle on the table in the main room and said casually, "There are things for you and the child inside. I'm going to wash the vegetables!"

After he finished speaking, his tall figure left the main room.

Children from farming families live a hard life, so when they heard that their father had bought them something, how could they not be happy? They clapped their hands with joy.

"Mom, what did Dad buy for us?" Xiaoyu's big eyes were bright, and even Xiaoran's face showed a hint of joy.

Yunlu didn't know either. She opened the bundle and found several sets of women's clothes, two hairpins, some toothbrushes and tooth powder, as well as some bottles and jars of cosmetics for women. There was also a slightly larger box containing dried fruit and candy.

This man was quite good to her; knowing she was worried about her family's financial difficulties, he bought the things without saying a word.

She scolded him playfully, but felt a sweet warmth in her heart.

Yunlu grabbed some candy and dried fruit for the two children, then tidied up the rest of the things. "Xiaoran, play with your little sister. I'll go make you something delicious."

When she entered the kitchen, Qin Zheng had already washed the vegetables and was rinsing the rice. Judging from the amount, it shouldn't be porridge.

"Brother Qin, let's cook some porridge, and also mix cornmeal and wheat flour together to steam some wild vegetable buns," Yunluo said. There was only so much rice left, and she couldn't bear to eat it all at once.

The man clearly noticed that she didn't like the food, so he bought it specially today.

Dinner was prepared by Yunluo. She cut off some of the fat from the meat and stir-fried a cabbage with vinegar, a hot and sour shredded potato, a plate of wild vegetable buns with some minced meat, and a bowl of porridge made from brown rice and white rice. The fragrant dish was placed on the table.

Xiaoyu smelled the aroma, and with a slurp, her mouth watered. Her little face instantly turned red.

"Aren't you ashamed?" Xiao Ran wiped the drool from her sister's mouth without making a sound. After wiping it, she glanced at Yun Luo and saw that Yun Luo was also looking at her. Her face turned red.

"Try my cooking." Yunlu first gave the two children some steamed buns, which contained some minced meat and tasted delicious.

"Dad, Mom's cooking is so delicious..." Xiaoyu mumbled, her little cheeks puffed out like a little squirrel.

Xiao Ran took small bites of the steamed bun, much more refined than her younger sister, her dark eyes filled with contentment.

As for Qin Zheng, after tasting the delicious food, he smiled slightly. She was indeed much better at cooking than him.

"Leave the cooking to me from now on. By the way, there's a patch of empty land in the front yard that I'd like to plant some vegetables. Brother Qin, do you have any vegetable seeds at home?"

"No, I'll go to town with you to buy it when I get back in a couple of days."
