Bai Ze shivered violently. Hua Gengchen hadn't been this angry in many years; the killing intent emanating from him was almost tangible.

It took Su Bai a while to catch her breath. She raised her hand and waved, indicating that Hua Gengchen didn't need to pat her anymore. She looked at Hua Gengchen, who looked worried, with suspicion. "What's wrong with you? Why are you so...caring towards me?" Su Bai wanted to say "gentle," but the words took a detour because Hua Gengchen was really not the word "gentle" at all!

Upon hearing this, Hua Gengchen stared intently at Su Bai, making Su Bai uncomfortable within seconds. Su Bai slightly turned her head to avoid Hua Gengchen's gaze. However, the next second, Hua Gengchen's action instantly drew Su Bai's attention back.

Hua Gengchen kissed the back of his hand and said in a hoarse voice, "I almost thought I was going to lose you..." If he hadn't arrived in time, Su Bai wouldn't be standing safely in front of him now. Hua Gengchen really couldn't imagine what the consequences would have been if he had arrived a moment later.

This time was different from what had happened before. Hua Gengchen witnessed Su Bai almost get into trouble. He was just a hair's breadth away from losing Su Bai forever!
