Jiao?

Hu Xiaoxiao looked puzzled.

She had been in Hong Kong for less than three months. Although she spoke Cantonese very well, she still didn't understand the meaning of some slang terms.

As I walked out of the lounge, I ran into Faye, the assistant in charge of making sure everyone was there.

When Fei saw Hu Xiaoxiao, she waved and said, "Miss Hu, you're next. Wait here, don't keep the judges waiting, it will ruin their impression of you."

Hu Xiaoxiao walked over, stopped by the door, and asked, "Do you know what 'Jiao' means?"

“It means ‘slutty’,” Faye said.

Slut? You mean she's slutty?

Could it be that her foxy scent is wafting out?

When no one was looking, Hu Xiaoxiao secretly sniffed her armpit.

The door opened, and the previous interviewee came out, looking utterly defeated; clearly, the interview hadn't gone well.

Hu Xiaoxiao was about to go inside with her bag when Fei Yi stopped her: "Miss Hu, please put your bag outside. There is a special place to put your bag here, and it is guarded by staff. It won't get stolen."

“Okay.” Hu Xiaoxiao opened her bag and took out a small tape recorder.

Faye looked at her strangely, "What are you doing bringing a tape recorder here?"

"I'll need it later."

Faye didn't ask any more questions; there had been precedents of people bringing props to job interviews.

Fei walked to the interview room door, knocked three times lightly, gave Hu Xiaoxiao a wink, pushed the door open, and let Hu Xiaoxiao in.

She wore a red, form-fitting dress with matching 5-inch heels, her long, wavy hair reaching her waist. She was tall, fair-skinned, and had a perfectly proportioned, curvaceous figure.

With her fiery red lips and striking features, she immediately caught the eye of all the judges upon entering.

Charlie, unable to hide the admiration in his eyes, said, "Miss Hu, it's nice to see you again."

Hu Xiaoxiao first set up the tape recorder, then walked up to the judges, nodded to each of them, and said to Charlie, "Yes, it's really fate."

Charlie laughed and said, "Very few people bring a tape recorder to an interview. I'm the first one I've seen today."

"This is what I use to showcase my talent."

"Oh, I'm really looking forward to Ms. Hu's next performance."

After Linda finished reading the information, she looked at Charlie and Hu Xiaoxiao and asked, "You two know each other?"

Charlie said, "I suppose so. I helped Miss Hu get into the preliminary rounds. But everyone can see that with Miss Hu's looks, temperament, and eloquence, she could easily make it to the finals without anyone's help. In a way, I benefited from Miss Hu's good fortune."

Next, Charlie asked Hu Xiaoxiao the same question he had asked her the first time.

Hu Xiaoxiao's answer was naturally the same.

After Charlie finished asking his question, Linda glanced at Hu Xiaoxiao's file again and said, "Miss Hu, are you new to Hong Kong? But I don't think so. Your Cantonese is very standard. You don't seem like someone who is new to Hong Kong."

Hu Xiaoxiao replied, "Because I am very smart and learn things very quickly, that's why I can speak Cantonese so well in such a short time."

"I don't think you know how to be humble."

"I think self-confidence is equally important."

Linda closed the file and said, "Okay, now it's your turn to show off your talent. I hope your talent is as amazing as your mouth."

Hu Xiaoxiao smiled confidently and said, "I won't let the judges down."

"Ms. Hu, what talent will you be showcasing?" another judge asked.

Hu Xiaoxiao replied, "Disco. What I showed the judges was my adapted disco dance."

Linda raised an eyebrow. "Disco? Are you sure you're not mistaken? This isn't a dance hall."

Hu Xiaoxiao looked at her and calmly replied, "But I treat this place as my stage."

After saying that, he walked to the tape recorder and checked the tape. Once he was sure it was correct, he pressed the play button.

After a few seconds of walking, Hu Xiaoxiao walked to the middle, got ready, and the music started playing.

As the upbeat music "Sha la la la la" started, Hu Xiaoxiao began to sway her shoulders and twist her waist.

There's a boy on my mind

And he knows I'm thinking of him

On my way through the day and the night

The stars shine above me

He's been gone for some time

But I know I truly love him

And I'm singing a song

Hoping he'll be back when he hears it..."

Hu Xiaoxiao's disco dancing is very lively, hot yet elegant, and extremely pleasing to the eye.

Her dance is not a rigid set of steps and movements, but rather a free-flowing expression of her emotions and the music. Her dance seems to carry a language, allowing the audience to read the thoughts she wants to express, which is extremely captivating.

After thoroughly mastering the basic steps of disco, Hu Xiaoxiao adapted them by incorporating her own understanding.

Her adaptation of disco, unlike the current intense Western exuberance, carries an elegant Eastern charm.

“My heart goes sha la la la la

Sha la la in the morning

Woo sha la la la la

Sha la la in the sunshine

Sha la la la la

Sha la la in the evening

Sha la la la la

Sha la la la la just for you…”

As the music entered the chorus, the melody became stronger, and Hu Xiaoxiao's dance also became more powerful, mainly in her jumping and turning steps.

She was like an elf, "Woo sha la la la la,

Sha la la in the sunshine…”

Every bounce was perfectly timed, and the natural, fluid body rotations enhanced the rhythm of the music, creating a resonance between the viewer's visual and auditory senses.

As the judges listened and watched, their bodies involuntarily began to tap along to the rhythm.

Some feet were tapping gently under the table, some fingers were patting lightly on the armrest, and some heads were swaying back and forth.

Charlie went even further, not only shaking his head back and forth to the beat, but also swaying his shoulders.

"Sha la la la al just for you——"

As the music ended, Hu Xiaoxiao concluded her dance with a perfect spin.

The teacher in charge of judging the talent performances was the first to applaud, making no secret of his appreciation for Hu Xiaoxiao's dance.

“Very good, very good! Disco has a high degree of freedom, with no prescribed movements. It is a dance that releases oneself and emotions through music and steps.”

Ms. Hu's dance incorporates Eastern elements, creating a unique and stunning effect. The saying "a thousand people, a thousand dances" perfectly describes Ms. Hu's unique style.

"Very good, very good, I really enjoyed it, and I'm so glad to see such a unique dance."

The teacher next to her also praised her, saying, "Disco is usually very unrestrained and flamboyant, but Ms. Hu's dance has obviously been subtly modified, making it more pleasing to the eye and more elegant. I think it's even suitable for high-class performances."

After watching Ms. Hu's dance, I felt much more refreshed and energized, even after several hours of exhaustion.

Charlie laughed loudly, "That's right! After watching a boring show all morning, I was so bored I felt like I was going to grow moss. This dance really cheered me up."

Then she asked, "Ms. Hu, did you only prepare one song? If you have another, would you mind performing another one for us?"

Hu Xiaoxiao said generously, "I'd love to! If everyone likes it, I'll play another high-energy song, even more exciting than drinking coffee. I hope the judges will feel refreshed after watching it and be able to keep going for a few more hours."
