320 Journey to the East, Part 17

"Senior brother, please ask the Ancestral Master... Take my essence and blood... my soul sacrifice... to keep this Chinese man here..." the Second Elder said through gritted teeth.

"Hehe...Junior brother, today...I'm afraid neither of us...will survive...I, your senior brother...will take my leave first..."

As he spoke, the eldest brother punched his chest hard with his fist, "Bang bang... Pfft..." A mouthful of blood sprayed onto Baoyu.

Then he drew a strange symbol with his hand, touched Baoyu with his finger, and shouted, "Please, Ancestor..." In an instant, Baoyu burst out with a strange red light, enveloping the eldest brother.

Then a blood-red energy vortex suddenly appeared in the air, and all of the senior brother's blood and vital energy were attracted by the blood-red vortex, as if everything was detached from his body.

"Waaaaah... Awoooah..."

A chilling wind howled within the blood-red vortex, sending shivers down one's spine.

A moment later, the eldest brother's eyes lost all their spiritual energy, and his whole body became like a withered tree. His hand loosened and the precious jade fell to the ground with a "thud." However, the precious jade suddenly emitted a strange energy fluctuation and changed from its previous black and white color to pure blood red.

Shangguan Yun's eyes widened at this moment. He knew that the five people here could no longer pose any threat to him, but the energy fluctuations emitted by this precious jade made him very wary. Therefore, he just watched the two from a distance and did not go forward to launch an attack.

Just then, the second senior brother let out a bitter laugh, "Hahahaha... May the true spirit of the Ancestral Master descend..."

Then he grabbed Baoyu and held it in his mouth, slammed his hand to the ground, and with a whoosh, his whole body soared into the air. He spat out a mouthful of blood onto Baoyu, muttered incantations, and offered Baoyu to the sky with a roar.

"Behold my Yata no Kagami..."

Shangguan Yun had sensed the danger beforehand and had already made preparations, even bringing out the paper cranes, intending to run away first.

However, the second senior brother cast spells very quickly, and when Shangguan Yun heard "Yata Mirror", he was also stunned, thinking that this was one of the three great divine artifacts, and it was actually in the hands of the Iga sect.

And the moment the Yata Mirror rose into the sky, the Kusanagi Sword in the system suddenly became restless and looked very happy, almost flying out immediately.

Shangguan Yun was shocked and quickly tried his best to suppress the Kusanagi sword, thinking that the magic of the Japanese was really evil, as the Kusanagi sword was affected several times.

Just as Shangguan Yun was stunned and failed to escape in time, it was already impossible for him to leave. The second senior brother in the sky had finished casting his spell.

The blood-red vortex reappeared, and the second senior brother's body convulsed, as if he had turned into a cloud of blood mist.

In just a few breaths, his life essence was completely drained, and he fell to the ground like a piece of rotten wood, shattering into pieces and kicking up a cloud of dust.

The Yata Mirror, however, burst forth with a crimson light, like a raging beast. It was clearly stimulated by the blood essence and incantations of the two brothers. At this moment, it illuminated the entire night sky in a fiery red, and its ferocious aura could probably be felt within a hundred miles.

Shangguan Yun shouted that something was wrong, but it was too late to cast a spell to activate the paper crane. The paper crane fell to the ground with a thud, as if its energy had been drained.

He himself was drawn in by a tremendous force and crashed headlong into the fiery red field formed by the Yata Mirror at incredible speed.

"Hahahaha... Hehehe... Hehe... Shangguan Yun... Prepare to die... Baka yarou... Waaah... Brother Yun, you're here... It's so cold here... Kill, kill, kill... Kill them all! The system needs powerful energy, it needs more souls..."

Uh, godfather... I'm so bored all by myself, and you don't keep me company... Son... Where have you been? Mom misses you so much... Waaah... Hoohoo... Hahahaha..."

This is the realm of inner demons, where everything from the past is magnified many times over, whether joyful or sorrowful, bloody or gentle, causing people to lose their way and become lost.

Under the influence of the Yata no Kagami, Shangguan Yun's thoughts seemed to be broken down into countless parts, each of which seemed to have traveled through time and space.

They are all experiencing things they have experienced before, including those from that world and those from this world.

There are struggles stemming from deep-seated desires, and also emotional choices made out of necessity.

There is the joy of being with a loved one. There is also the pain of parting from family. There is kinship, romantic love, and friendship among classmates, as well as the ruthlessness of the wheel of fate.

This moment was clearly very brief, but in Shangguan Yun's eyes, it might have lasted for hundreds of years. Under the influence of the blood-red energy, he was already unable to extricate himself.

Fortunately, although the system was in hibernation, it still protected Shangguan Yun's mind, allowing him to retain a sliver of clarity and preventing him from quickly succumbing to it.

At that moment, Shangguan Yun seemed to hear a summons, a deep-seated thought stirring within him, both strange and familiar.

That seemed to be another version of him, another world, where someone was relentlessly calling to him.

That world was very far away from him, perhaps from many tens of thousands of years ago, or perhaps from another time and space. Shangguan Yun felt that sooner or later, he would go there.

There seems to be an unfinished story there, waiting for him to finish it.

And there was that smiling girl who kept waving at him!
