Lin Yue nodded slightly. She didn't feel much. It was also unexpected that she and Huo Qingxia could become friends.

Wang Xuemei, being very outgoing, immediately took her arm. "Then it's settled. I'll come to the workshop to find you when I'm eating. You're in the second workshop, and I'm in the first. We're not far apart."

Wang Xuemei didn't actually admire Lin Yue that much; she had her own selfish motives. Huo Qingyan liked Lin Yue, and if she spent every day with Lin Yue, she would have more opportunities to see Huo Qingyan, and he wouldn't avoid them.

Thinking of this, Wang Xuemei was secretly pleased with her own cleverness. Lin Yue also guessed her thoughts, but she didn't think anything of it, since she had nothing to do with Huo Qingyan anyway.

Wang Yiming stared wide-eyed in surprise at the two people standing side by side. "What's going on? When did they become so close?"

Wu Changyong chuckled and nudged him, "How would we grown men understand girls' affairs? But this combination is quite novel, one is someone Yan-ge likes, and the other likes Yan-ge."

Luo Xiaoshan climbed onto Wang Yiming's shoulder, leaning all his weight on him. "Who says otherwise? Things are going to get interesting from now on. I bet Brother Yan won't be avoiding Wang Xuemei anymore."

Wang Yiming suddenly thought of something, patted his head, and said, "Now that you mention it, I've actually thought of that. I guess Wang Xuemei approached Lin Yue with that same purpose in mind. Women's hearts are truly unfathomable."

Huo Qingyan kicked Wang Yiming in the butt from behind, "What are you standing there for? Get to work!"

"Brother Yan, look at you, we're just concerned about you."

"Stop talking nonsense and get to work."

Huo Qingyan glanced at the backs of the two people, his eyes darkening. He thought to himself, "Lin Yue shouldn't be so easily manipulated."

When Lin Yue arrived at the workshop, there were already workers operating the machines, and everyone was eager to try.

After a full day, the new workers were basically able to get the hang of things. The girls were young and learned quickly.

The workshop director was very satisfied and announced some good news to everyone: "Tomorrow night, the factory will hold a welcome party for all of you new employees, and there will be a variety show. You all have to attend."

Upon hearing the news, the girls started chattering excitedly, "That's great! I'm going to dress up beautifully tomorrow. There are so many men in the factory; maybe I'll even meet someone I like."

"It's great to work for a big company. There are so many activities. I heard they have parties during holidays."

Lin Yue listened quietly; she had never been to such an occasion before.

When I returned to the military compound in the evening, I could see from afar that the Su family's courtyard was decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations, with large red "囍" (double happiness) characters pasted on it. There were many people helping out inside and outside, and it looked very lively.

Lin Yue watched for a few seconds, and just as she was about to go home, Su Qingya came out. She had been waiting for Lin Yue to return.

Ever since she heard that Lin Yue had joined the First Garment Factory as a factory worker, her sense of superiority exploded. What was Lin Yue's status and position? How could a mere factory worker compare to her?

She raised her head arrogantly, looked at Lin Yue with a sneer. She and Chang Jingxiang hadn't even held a wedding ceremony, which meant they didn't value her much; they were probably afraid she would embarrass them.

Lin Yue thought to herself, "She's crazy," and decided not to pay any attention to her. This person was about to get married, yet she was still staring at her like an enemy.

As they prepared to return to the Chang family's courtyard, Su Qingya stepped forward, beaming with joy, "I haven't seen Jingxiang for several days. Remember to invite him to my wedding banquet tomorrow. After all, we grew up together, and our bond is still strong. If you're free, you can come too; it'll be more lively with more people."

Lin Yue smiled and said, "You should go and inform him yourself and see if he's willing to go. I won't go; we're not close."

After saying that, Lin Yue walked back to the Chang family home with light steps, under Su Qingya's resentful gaze.

Su Qingya stomped her foot hard. "You don't know what's good for you. You're just jealous of me. You're jealous that I got married, that I had a wedding, and that I have a respectable job."

Lin Yue had long since disappeared. It seemed as if she was talking to herself, and after finishing, she spat fiercely in the direction Lin Yue had left.

After Su's father returned, they talked about work, and Su Qingya learned that Chang Jingxiang and his company had gone to another place and were not in Beijing at all. This was a good opportunity.

She quickly put on her clothes and left the house. Her mother called after her, "It's so late, where are you going? You should get some rest, you have to get up early tomorrow."

Su Qingya seemed not to hear her words and disappeared in a flash. She wasn't afraid of the dark and ran straight into the darkness.

The next morning, firecrackers started going off in the courtyard, and many children ran around and made a ruckus.

People from the compound were gathered outside the Su family's courtyard. Those standing inside were probably Su's relatives, all dressed in festive attire.

As Lin Yue was leaving the gate, she happened to run into the wedding procession entering the compound. Leading the procession was a black sedan with a large red flower tied to the hood.

Zhou Zhijie sat in the passenger seat, wearing a dark blue suit and a red tie. His hair was slicked back with hair oil, revealing a shiny bald forehead.

I don't know what his aesthetic sense is, but this looks a bit ridiculous. Lin Yue suppressed her laughter and dodged the car.

Zhou Zhijie leaned out of the car window and glared at Lin Yue with disdain. Lin Yue thought about how Su Qingya looked last night and felt that the two of them were a perfect match.

The car blocked the entrance. Lin Yue wanted to go out, but she couldn't force her way past the car, so she could only wait anxiously. Fortunately, the Su family came over and told her not to delay the auspicious time, so the car finally drove into the yard.

There's an old saying in the village: "A turtle that's eyeing a mung bean will find fault with it and then try to bring bad luck to others on a joyous occasion."

Because of the delay, Lin Yue ran all the way there. By the time she arrived at the gate of the garment factory, she was already out of breath. She ran in one go, and the gate slowly closed behind her.

Lin Yue was exhausted and was panting, supporting her waist with her hands. A pair of green rubber canvas shoes appeared in front of her.

She looked up and saw Huo Qingyan's indifferent face. "Is there a dog chasing you?"

Lin Yue chuckled. "No, I... I almost missed it."

"Leave earlier next time, or you'll get fined for being late." Huo Qingyan left with those words. Lin Yue didn't have the strength to reply. She changed her clothes with difficulty and went to the workshop.

The workshop foreman looked somewhat displeased. "Come earlier next time, don't keep everyone waiting for you."

Lin Yue nodded guiltily and stood in line. The workshop director began his speech, "Today, Wang Xuemei, an outstanding employee from the first workshop, will give you a quick operation demonstration. You must not only master the skills, but also shorten the time as much as possible."
