Chapter 17 continues

She laughed freely, though a little embarrassed: "Your Highness is wise. I did lie, but I don't know who the person who taught me medicine is."

That's a lie too. She remembers all the teachers who taught her from childhood to adulthood.

A slightly soft voice suddenly exploded in her ear: "Keep making this up!"

Mo Jiuxiao lowered his eyes slightly, picked up his cup, and took a small sip.

Gu Lingzhi couldn't continue. "Since Your Highness believes that I have been lying all along, then no matter what I say, you will not believe me. In that case, I have nothing to explain."

He gazed into Gu Lingzhi's eyes, those dark eyes, yet under the light, were permeated with a dark purple, appearing profound and captivating: "I don't care about these things."

Gu Lingzhi turned her head away; it was better that she didn't care, and she didn't want to talk about it anyway.

Mo Jiuxiao remained indifferent, but his words carried a hint of command: "As long as you heal the person, I will spare your life."

Upon hearing this, Gu Lingzhi gritted her teeth, stood up, and stared at him: "Then why aren't you taking me there?"

He hadn't expected Gu Lingzhi to get so anxious. He got up and led her to the military tent where the man was resting.

Gu Lingzhi walked to the bedside and carefully examined the man's injuries. She had been injured the night before and had been delayed all night, and now she saw that the man's injuries were even more serious.

Gu Lingzhi couldn't help but frown.

She looked at Mo Jiuxiao with a serious tone, "The wound needs to be completely cleaned and thoroughly disinfected."

Mo Jiuxiao didn't understand what she meant: "Tell him what you need!"

Gu Lingzhi looked up and was instantly embarrassed, because the person was the one she had knocked unconscious yesterday.

The guard kept his head down, his face expressionless, but Gu Lingzhi could easily guess that he was very dissatisfied with her.

She hesitated for a moment, then instructed the guard, "Um, I'll write you a list of what I need, and there are some things to note. The rotten flesh on his body must be cleaned off."

Mo Jiuxiao frowned upon hearing her words: "You're going to do it yourself?"

"if not?"

Gu Lingzhi asked him a question in return. She had already walked to the bedside, lifted the quilt, and wanted to take off his clothes.

Mo Jiuxiao grabbed her hand.

"There are doctors in the army who can do this kind of thing. Just tell me how to do it."

so good?

Unfortunately... "To clean up rotten flesh, it must be cleaned completely; if even a little bit is left, the toxins will seep into the newly growing skin."

Mo Jiuxiao still didn't let go, and turned to his subordinates, saying, "Bring all the doctors in the entire military camp here."

Gu Lingzhi was somewhat surprised.

I never expected Mo Jiuxiao to value the person lying in bed so much.

This military tent was mixed in with the ordinary soldiers' camps and was not heavily guarded; it looked like just an inconspicuous place.

The attendant who had been taking care of the patient turned and left. Before long, all the military doctors, big and small, from the entire camp arrived.

These people glanced cautiously at the prince, then saw Gu Lingzhi, and all of them showed astonished expressions.

"Your Highness, this soldier..."

When many of the military doctors saw the face of the person on the bed, their expressions all changed drastically.

"Your Highness, this person... how do we save him?"

Despite being a doctor, he uttered such ridiculous words, which made Gu Lingzhi unable to suppress a smile.

She lowered her voice and glanced at Mo Jiuxiao, who was gripping her wrist: "These people of the Prince are no good either."

These words made Mo Jiuxiao's face turn ashen.

"From now on, you will all listen to her completely. You must heal the injured, understand?"

All the doctors stared at Gu Lingzhi in astonishment and shock.

She was very young, only sixteen years old, with an extremely beautiful face. She looked like a delicate and fragile vase that could only be placed at home.

They had been practicing medicine for many years and never imagined that one day they would actually be taking orders from a young girl.

"Your Highness, treating the sick and saving lives is a matter of utmost importance. How can you act so recklessly?"

The doctors had all heard of the patient in the bed, and in fact, Mo Jiuxiao had them examine each of them at the beginning.

That person saved the prince's life, so it's normal for the prince to care. Everyone else also did their best.

Unfortunately, no one can cure it.

However, Gu Lingzhi's eyes held a confident arrogance that reflected her own strength.

She raised her eyebrows slightly and glanced around with some disgust.

"Who among you knows how to treat external injuries? Show me how. If you're not qualified, please leave."

That's quite arrogant, but Gu Lingzhi has the right to say it.

However, most of these doctors were rather eccentric and arrogant, and after being provoked by Gu Lingzhi, they immediately became unwilling.

"Your Highness, if you want us to obey a mere maid, you should at least let her demonstrate her abilities and win everyone's respect, otherwise..."

Mo Jiuxiao narrowed his eyes slightly: "Otherwise what?"

The doctor who had spoken shuddered and swallowed the rest of his words.

His words clearly indicated his doubt about the prince's judgment of people, which was extremely disrespectful.

Gu Lingzhi sneered: "Since you want to watch, then stand here and watch."
