Cold-faced Empress

Chapter 11 is so tragic

The servants were of lowly status, and if they injured the prime minister's daughter, they would have to pay with their heads afterwards. Therefore, the guards and other subordinates dared not harm Fu Siying.

Only Mo Canglan is unafraid of the consequences, but... it's not without consequences.

Mo Canglan's guards, out of loyalty, were willing to give their lives to relieve Mo Canglan's worries, but Mo Canglan clearly did not think that Fu Siying was worth his guards giving their lives for.

As blood splattered, Fu Siying was shocked to see Prince Mu step out of the carriage.

When he emerged from his fur cloak and the sweltering world, his figure was tall and slender, elegant and noble, comparable only to the finest jade trees and ice sculptures, cold and aloof.

He wore a dark blue inner garment, a jade belt with a dragon hook, and a red outer robe trimmed with gold brocade patterns. His long black hair was styled in three thousand strands and adorned with a white jade and glass crown.

His appearance in this setting could easily be described as "a crane-like figure with an ethereal air," but when Fu Siying saw him indifferently pick up a bow from the side and nock an arrow at her with a blank expression, she felt as if she had been choked!

"Desert, Azure, Mist!"

Her words were sharp and forceful.

In her view, Prince Mu was definitely looking to take revenge.

Fu Siying immediately shouted at the man in blue behind her, "Let go of me!"

Although the man in blue seemed to be someone she knew, she had absolutely no desire to have any past relationship with him. He had taken her hostage and used her life to protect himself; she was filled with murderous intent towards him.

Fu Siying struggled, just as the man in blue tried to pull her to shield her from an arrow. With a "crack" and a scream of "Ah!", all the color drained from Fu Siying's face, and cold sweat broke out on her brow.

Left arm!

Dislocated!

Fu Siying was in so much pain that her face turned deathly pale and her whole body trembled. The man in blue noticed something was wrong and hurriedly released Fu Siying's left arm. As soon as he released it, Fu Siying's left arm hung limply at her side, as if it were just hanging from her shoulder.

For a time, the man in blue had to deal with the surge of attacks from Prince Mu's men while also trying to distract Fu Siying, which inevitably made him a bit flustered.

In that moment of panic and carelessness, Mo Canglan's eyes narrowed slowly. Seizing the opportunity, he released the arrow without hesitation!

The arrow flew swiftly, carrying the lingering hum of the bowstring, towards the man in blue!

Seeing that Fu Siying was injured, the man in blue didn't want to make things difficult for her any further. Gritting his teeth, he pushed Fu Siying towards Prince Mu's guards, hoping to use this opportunity to escape. Unexpectedly, Fu Siying, whom he pushed forward, was facing a cold arrow. The man in blue almost popped his eyes out of their sockets as he watched Fu Siying crash straight into the arrow!

With a "thud," the arrow pierced flesh.

Fu Siying screamed in agony, her heart breaking!

An arrow struck her right in the shoulder, halting her staggering figure. Fu Siying stood stiffly on the ground.

Finally, staring intently at Mo Canglan standing on the carriage not far away, she trembled as she reached out her right hand to grab the guard in front of her, causing herself to fall forward.

Taking advantage of the brief pause in the scene, the man in blue exerted all his strength, leaped into the air, and successfully fought his way out of the encirclement of the guards and soldiers, escaping for his life.

"Chase!"

The guards and soldiers gave chase, while Fu Siying was carried and dragged to Prince Mu's carriage.

Covered in blood and sweat, Fu Siying stared at Mo Canglan with a pale face, her eyes filled with resentment and anger.

Mo Canglan did not look at her, but stared in the direction the man in blue had fled. After a long while, he turned his gaze back to her.

To Fu Siying, who had dislocated her arm and been shot with an arrow, he simply uttered two words: "Getting in the way."

Having said that, he handed the bow to the guard beside him and turned to get into the carriage.

Staring at Mo Canglan's retreating figure, Fu Siying wished she could vomit blood all over him.

The guard asked, "Master, what is the arrangement for Miss Fu?"

After a long silence in the carriage, someone said, "Reattach her arm and send her back to the Prime Minister's residence."

"Yes," the guard paused for a moment, then asked, "How should I explain Miss Fu's injuries to the Prime Minister's residence?"

Before Mo Canglan could speak from inside the carriage, Fu Siying said in a trembling voice, "Explain? Ha, do you think you can explain it however you want? I'm not dead yet, I have a mouth, I can speak for myself!"

The guard glanced at Fu Siying, and seeing how angry she was, he didn't say anything.

After Fu Siying's threatening words, the carriage remained silent for a long time.

After a while, Mo Canglan said, "Bring the person in."

Fu Siying scoffed, "I'm not going in! I'll die of heat before I die from the pain."

However, her resistance was naturally ignored by Prince Mu's servants, and Fu Siying was directly carried into the carriage.

Poor thing, she had a dislocated left arm and an injured right shoulder, and despite her suffering, she received no care whatsoever.

As soon as she entered the carriage, before she could even see Prince Mu's face clearly, Fu Siying struggled to climb out.

It was so hot. In the sweltering summer heat, the cart floor was scorching hot, and she was sitting around a furnace. She was already covered in sweat, and now she was instantly overwhelmed by the heat and couldn't breathe.

As soon as she moved, Mu Wang grabbed her hair from behind.

Mo Canglan pulled Fu Siying aside with a forceful tug, then quietly ordered the carriage to be started and headed to the Prime Minister's residence.

Fu Siying was completely exhausted from the ordeal and lay curled up on the scorching hot car floor, enduring the physical pain.

Should she ask Doctor Mu Wangchuan to treat her injuries?

She had some backbone, after all, and wouldn't lower herself to her enemies.

The carriage moved smoothly, but the interior was silent and quiet, as if no one was inside.

Just as Fu Siying was about to carefully turn over because she couldn't stand the heat, Mo Canglan reached out and placed his long, slender fingers with distinct knuckles on her shoulder.

"I will reattach your arm. After you return to your residence, do not speak carelessly."

Fu Siying glanced at him and refused without hesitation: "No need for Prince Mu's feigned kindness, I can endure until I get home."

"Ah."

Mo Canglan responded, slowly withdrew his hand, and leaned to the side. Just when Fu Siying thought he couldn't think of a way to shut her up, Mo Canglan leisurely instructed the coachman to turn around and head straight back to the Prince Mu's residence instead of the Prime Minister's residence!

Fu Siying was startled, and looked at him with a mixture of anger and resentment: "What do you mean by this?"

"Hmm?" Mo Canglan put his hand into his sleeve. "Didn't Miss Fu say she could wait until she got home? Then wait until I've finished dealing with all the important matters before I send Miss Fu home."

If the important business isn't finished in half a month, then Fu Siying won't be able to go home for half a month and will be suffering terribly. Besides, no one will know that it was Prince Mu who took her away.

Seeing Mo Canglan utter such shameless words without batting an eye, Fu Siying almost burst into tears in a moment of panic. Her left arm was dislocated, and even the slightest touch was excruciating; an arrow had struck her right shoulder, and blood had already stained her clothes. No matter how resilient she was, she was still made of flesh and blood; how could she be as impenetrable as a wall of bronze, oblivious to pain?

At this moment, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that her life was hanging by a thread, but the man in front of her was completely heartless, disregarding her life and death, and wanted to make a deal with her?!

Fu Siying gritted her teeth in hatred, forcibly holding back her tears.

She thought for a moment, then suddenly kicked over the stove in the car!

"Bang".

Fu Siying gritted her teeth and said, "I have never intended to bow down to anyone in my life! Kill me or torture me, it's all up to you. Trying to threaten me? Impossible!"

After saying that, he turned his head to the side and closed his eyes.

She had thought that if she died, wouldn't that be a boon to He Changyi and Wei Lanling? Wouldn't that be a betrayal of the humiliation she suffered before her death in her previous life? Wouldn't that be a waste of the chance that God gave her to be reborn?

But then she thought, if she had to bow down to a villain like Prince Mu and be blackmailed by him just for the sake of revenge, wouldn't she become a walking corpse or a puppet of hatred, losing her backbone and true self?

She wants revenge, but even more so, she wants to live life to the fullest!

She would rather lose both arms than do such a foolish thing as enduring humiliation again!

The overturned stove rolled to Mo Canglan's side. Fortunately, the carriage was heated by burning charcoal under the floorboards, and the stove only served to warm hands and provide hot water, so it posed no threat.

Mo Canglan glanced at the stove, then at Fu Siying, flicked his sleeve to clear the stove away, and said coldly, "What a fool you are."

Seeing Fu Siying trembling with anger, Mo Canglan lowered his eyes, a hint of doubt flashing in them. How could a noble lady like Fu Siying have such a strong temper?

His hand landed on Fu Siying's left shoulder again.

Fu Siying suddenly opened her eyes and looked at him. Her gaze was piercing, but she remained silent.

Mo Canglan didn't speak, but suddenly tightened his grip. In the blink of an eye, Fu Siying's lips turned pale with pain: "Ugh!"

In an instant, Mo Canglan reattached Fu Siying's left arm.

With her left arm reattached, she couldn't exert any force yet. Fu Siying struggled to sit up, trying to minimize the contact area with the scorching hot car floor.

She glanced at Mo Canglan, then looked down at the injury on her right shoulder, and then stared at him again, her meaning clear.

Mo Canglan didn't make things difficult for her. He took out a small medicine bottle, but didn't immediately hand it to Fu Siying. Instead, he said, "That fugitive is a wanted criminal by the imperial court, and his crimes are heinous. It's a confidential matter, so it's not convenient for outsiders to know about it."

"If you can keep the secret, the Fu family will naturally be at peace. If you can't," Mo Canglan tossed the small medicine bottle into Fu Siying's arms, "whether the Fu family will be implicated or get into trouble is anyone's guess. In any case, it will not harm me."

Picking up the small medicine bottle from her bosom, Fu Siying glanced at Mo Canglan, and the more she listened to his words, the more familiar they sounded.

This is exactly the same tactic she used when threatening the clothing store owner!

Bah! He really is a cunning and wicked villain.

"Is Your Highness analyzing the pros and cons for me and reasoning with me?" Fu Siying asked.

Mo Canglan didn't take it to heart: "Exactly."

Immediately, Fu Siying retorted, "Since you can speak human language, why couldn't you utter anything ivory from your dog's mouth just now?"

Mo Canglan's eyes darkened: "Fu Siying, this king has a temper that is not kind."

"Coincidentally, I also have a terrible temper!"

After saying that, Fu Siying disregarded her shoulder injuries, kicked open the car door, and demanded to get out.

Mo Canglan had no intention of keeping her, and only instructed the guards to escort her back to her residence.

Before getting out of the car, Fu Siying glared fiercely at Mo Canglan's face: "Whoever marries you is really unlucky!"

The guards pretended not to hear this and quickly arranged for their subordinates to properly escort Miss Fu back to the Prime Minister's residence.

After finishing the task and reporting back, he suddenly heard his master chuckle repeatedly: "Heh, I think her bad luck is definitely over."
