Rebirth of Jinxuan

Chapter 35 Morning Rush to the Martial Arts Hall

"I'm fine." In the end, Lu Jinxuan didn't say anything, but simply shook her head and pulled her hand back from Zhang Yuxi's.

In the next room, Lu Yuhang carefully opened a wooden box. Inside lay a precious sword and an ancient sword manual. The sword was entirely black, its blade gleaming faintly with a cold light, and its hilt was engraved with intricate dragon patterns. Lu Yuhang picked up the sword; it was icy cold to the touch, yet he felt a strange sense of familiarity. He swung it a few times, feeling the sword's lightness, as if it had become one with him.

Qian Feng also came over, his eyes fixed on the greatsword in the wooden box. He picked up the greatsword, brandished it a few times, and said excitedly, "What a sword! This sword is practically tailor-made for me!" He wielded the greatsword with great force and power.

Lu Yuhang smiled and handed the sword manual to Qian Feng: "I'll give you this sword manual as well; it might be helpful to you."

Qian Feng took the sword manual, casually flipped through a few pages, and then stuffed it into his pack. "I'm going back now, see you tomorrow!" With that, he slung the greatsword over his shoulder and left excitedly.

Lu Yuhang watched Qian Feng's departing figure, shook his head, and picked up the sword manual again to study it carefully. Before he knew it, he had fallen asleep against the headboard, and the sword manual slipped to the ground.

The next morning, Lu Yuhang woke up early, dressed and washed up, and prepared to go to the martial arts hall. Ai Xi was already waiting outside the door. When she saw him come out, she pulled him into the room and changed him into a brand new set of training clothes without saying a word.

"Today is your first day at the Martial Arts Hall, so you'd better do well!" Ai Xi said, straightening Lu Yuhang's clothes as she gave him instructions.

The kitchen lady also brought in a steaming hot breakfast, smiling and saying, "Young master, come and eat breakfast. You need to replenish your energy today!"

Lu Yuhang sat obediently at the table, eating heartily the delicious food prepared by the kitchen lady.

At this moment, Qian Feng arrived at the Lu family's residence carrying the bundled greatsword. He had dark circles under his eyes, clearly having been too excited to sleep well all night.

The group discussed how to get Lu Yuhang and Qian Feng to the martial arts hall. Lu Jinxuan suggested that Zhang Yuxi take them, but Zhang Yuxi refused.

"Let them go on their own. It's good for them to develop their independence," Zhang Yuxi said.

In the end, Lu Yuhang and Qian Feng decided to go to the Martial Arts Hall on their own. They walked out of the door side by side and headed towards the Martial Arts Hall.

"Yu Hang, what kind of people do you think we'll meet at the martial arts hall today?" Qian Feng asked.

Lu Yuhang smiled and said meaningfully, "Who knows..." The morning light shone on the bluestone path, illuminating the two tall figures of the two boys. Lu Yuhang and Qian Feng chatted and laughed as they walked towards the martial arts hall. Behind them, Ai Xi stood at the entrance, watching them leave, her eyes filled with anticipation.

Inside, Lu Jinxuan and Zhang Yuxi sat facing each other, enjoying the breakfast carefully prepared by the kitchen lady. Lu Jinxuan sipped her porridge, but her thoughts drifted to Lu Yuhang. Zhang Yuxi noticed her worry and gently patted the back of her hand: "Don't worry, Hang'er will be alright."

After breakfast, Lu Jinxuan went to the alchemy room. The firelight from the furnace illuminated her face, her expression focused and serious. Zhang Yuxi paced around the courtyard for a while, finally deciding to go check on the martial arts hall. He returned to his room, changed into an inconspicuous black robe, and then rummaged through a trunk to find a large black cloak, wrapping himself up completely.

"I'm going out for a bit, I'll be right back," he said to Lu Jinxuan, trying to sound casual.

Lu Jinxuan looked up from in front of the alchemy furnace, glanced at his slightly strange attire, and wondered, but did not ask any further questions: "Come back soon."

Zhang Yuxi nodded, slipped out of the room, and slipped out through the back door of the clinic. He knew the way well and went straight to Zuiyue Tower, went up to the second floor, bought two jars of fine aged wine from the shopkeeper, and then quietly went up to the highest point of Zuiyue Tower—Huayu Pavilion.

Huayu Pavilion offers a panoramic view overlooking the entire town, including the Martial Arts Hall. Zhang Yuxi found a secluded corner to sit down, removed the seal from the wine jar, and the rich aroma of the wine immediately filled the air. He took a sip and turned his gaze to the training ground of the Martial Arts Hall.

On the training ground, the newly initiated disciples were practicing horse stance. Lu Yuhang stood tall and straight, his breathing steady, clearly in complete control. Qian Feng, on the other hand, seemed to be struggling. Carrying the massive heavy sword on his back, beads of sweat had already formed on his forehead, but he still gritted his teeth and persevered, refusing to give up.

Watching this scene, Zhang Yuxi smiled with satisfaction. He seemed to see a reflection of his younger self, and his heart was filled with pride. He drank his wine while observing his son's every move, nodding in approval from time to time.
