With an agility beyond his years, Lu Yuhang leaped onto the horse's back! He gripped the horse's saddle tightly with one hand, while his other small hand firmly grasped the whip raised by the plump woman in red. The force of the whip made his little hand ache, but he bit his lower lip, forcing himself not to cry out.

His small frame appeared exceptionally thin on the tall horse's back, yet it possessed astonishing strength. He glared angrily at the plump woman in red, his eyes flashing with stubbornness. "You're not allowed to hit my horse!" His childish voice was filled with unwavering determination.

The plump woman in red was clearly stunned by this sudden action. She paused for a moment, then reacted, pulling hard on the whip, trying to regain control. "You little brat, get down here right now!" she roared.

Lu Yuhang, however, showed no fear. His small body seemed to merge with the horse's, sitting steadily on its back, his little hands gripping the whip tightly, struggling against the plump woman in red. His heart was filled with pity for the horse; he knew it was already exhausted, yet it was being whipped for no reason. A strange strength welled up within his small chest, a strength that kept him going, refusing to let go.

The whip was taut, like a fully drawn bowstring. The plump woman in red used too much force, lost her footing, and nearly fell off the carriage. She cried out in alarm and quickly grabbed the carriage shaft to regain her balance.

A gasp erupted from the crowd. Some worried the plump woman in red might fall, while others secretly cheered for Lu Yuhang. Qingyuan and Aixi watched nervously, ready to intervene and protect Lu Yuhang at any moment.

After regaining her footing, the plump woman in red looked even more displeased. She glared fiercely at Lu Yuhang, her eyes filled with rage. She hadn't expected this seemingly frail child to possess such strength, and for the moment, she couldn't subdue him.

Her eyes darted around, and she changed her expression, coaxing in a sarcastic tone, "Oh dear, little darling, come down quickly, this horse is too high, it's dangerous! Auntie will buy you candy, okay?"

Lu Yuhang, however, was unmoved by her words. He pouted, remained silent, and continued to struggle against the whip. His small figure appeared exceptionally resolute in the afterglow of the setting sun.

Suddenly, the sound of rapid hoofbeats came from afar, mixed with shouts: "This mountain is mine, these trees are mine, if you want to pass, leave your toll!"

The expressions of the people on the carriage changed, and someone exclaimed, "Bandits!"

The plump woman in red no longer cared about arguing with Lu Yuhang. Her face turned deathly pale as she looked into the distance in terror… “They, they’re here…”

The plump woman in red could barely maintain her fake smile. She rubbed her thick hands together, her tone becoming even sweeter, "Little darling, listen to your auntie, come down. Auntie will take you to eat something delicious and play something fun, okay?" As she spoke, she secretly reached out to tug at Lu Yuhang's sleeve.

Lu Yuhang, however, remained as steadfast as a rock on his horse, completely ignoring the plump woman's temptations. His small face was filled with stubbornness, showing no intention of giving in. He gripped the whip tightly, the veins on the back of his hand bulging, demonstrating the immense strength he was using.

Although the other passengers in the carriage were indignant at the fat woman's rudeness, no one dared to step forward and stop her. This fat woman was no pushover; she was a notorious shrew in town, and no one dared to provoke her. It was said that her family owned butchers in town, and she herself was known for her shrewish and domineering nature, often bullying the townspeople. No one dared to offend her. Even if someone suffered a loss, they could only swallow their anger.

"This child is so pitiful, stuck with such a wicked woman." A simply dressed old woman muttered under her breath, then quickly covered her mouth, afraid that the fat aunt would hear her.

The sound of horses' hooves grew closer in the distance, mixed with the shouts of bandits, making the atmosphere in the carriage even more tense.

The plump woman's face grew increasingly grim. Her eyes darted around as she plotted her escape. She glanced at Lu Yuhang, a sinister glint in her eyes.

"You little brat, you'll regret this!" the fat aunt roared, grabbing Lu Yuhang's arm and trying to pull him off the horse.

Lu Yuhang, however, was prepared. He nimbly twisted his body, dodging the fat woman's clutches. He loosened his grip, and the whip snapped onto the horse's back. The startled horse neighed, reared up, and nearly threw the fat woman to the ground.

The plump woman screamed in fright, grabbing the cart shaft to steady herself. She pointed angrily at Lu Yuhang, cursing, "You little beast, how dare you..."

Before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by shouts of battle coming from afar.

A group of fierce-looking bandits rode on horseback, brandishing swords and knives, and charged towards the carriage.

"Robbery! Hand over all the valuables!" the bandit leader roared.

The people in the carriage were terrified and fled in panic.

The plump woman didn't care about Lu Yuhang anymore; she hurriedly jumped off the carriage, trying to escape.

Lu Yuhang remained firmly seated on his horse, his small figure standing out conspicuously in the chaotic crowd. He watched the approaching bandits, his eyes showing no fear, but rather a resolute light.

The plump woman stumbled a few steps, then suddenly stopped. She glanced back at Lu Yuhang, a flicker of jealousy in her eyes. This little brat, he wasn't afraid at all! Why?!

A wicked thought suddenly welled up in the plump woman's mind. She glared fiercely at Lu Yuhang, a sinister smile creeping across her lips. "You little bastard, let's see how long you can keep up this smugness!" she muttered, then turned and ran towards the bandits...

The plump woman stumbled towards the bandits, crying, "Sir, spare me! I have money here!" As she ran, she secretly glanced back, her malicious gaze fixed on Lu Yuhang. She was calculating in her mind that as long as she lured the bandits to the carriage, this little brat would definitely be caught, and then they'd see if he'd still be so arrogant!

Lu Yuhang sat upright on his horse, his small figure as steadfast as a rock amidst the chaos. He watched the fleeing crowd, listening to the approaching hoofbeats and shouts, his dark eyes showing no panic, but rather a resolute light. He knew danger was approaching, but he could not back down.

Hidden in the shadows, Qingyuan witnessed everything. Her brows furrowed; this fat woman was so vicious, actually trying to use bandits to harm the young master! Qingyuan's eyes sharpened; she couldn't wait any longer!

Just as the plump woman was about to reach the bandits, Qingyuan flashed out from the crowd like a ghost. She moved with lightning speed, grabbing the plump woman by the back of her collar and lifting her up.

"Ah! You...who are you?" The fat woman stared wide-eyed in horror, her obese body struggling in the air, but she could not break free from Qingyuan's grip.

"A woman with a heart of stone like you, how dare you approach the young master?" Qing Yuan's tone was icy, her eyes sharp as knives, making the fat aunt tremble with fear.

"Slap! Slap!" Two crisp slaps echoed through the crowd, and bright red handprints instantly appeared on the plump woman's face. She opened her mouth to curse, but was silenced by a look from Qing Yuan.

"If you dare to have any more wicked thoughts, I'll kill you!" Qingyuan warned coldly, then threw the fat aunt on the ground like trash.

The plump woman tripped and fell flat on her face, sprawling on the ground in a sorry state, unable to get up for a long time. She clutched her burning cheek, her eyes filled with resentment and fear. She never imagined that this seemingly frail woman possessed such formidable strength.

Qingyuan ignored the plump aunt and turned to Lu Yuhang, saying in a low voice, "Young master, let's go."

Lu Yuhang nodded and slid off the horse. Ai Xi also appeared from the shadows, standing protectively on Lu Yuhang's other side.

The three quickly left the chaotic scene and headed in another direction.

They had barely left when the bandits arrived with a roar.

"Hahaha! Looks like we've had a good haul today!" The bandit leader's eyes lit up as he looked at the carriage parked by the roadside.

He dismounted, walked up to the plump woman slumped on the ground, and asked with a sinister grin, "Who was that who ran past just now?"

The plump woman trembled with fear, pointing in the direction Qingyuan and the others had left, stammering, "It was...it was them..."

The bandit leader looked in the direction the plump woman was pointing, but saw only an empty road. He frowned and asked impatiently, "Who are they? Do they have anything valuable on them?"

The plump woman stammered, "They...they..." She suddenly stopped, her eyes fixed on the carriage behind the bandit leader, a strange smile appearing on her face. "Grandpa, look..."

The bandit leader turned around impatiently, only to see that the people who had been hiding in the carriage in a panic were now stiff as puppets, staring blankly ahead. He followed their gaze and his heart skipped a beat—once the official road was empty, a group of men in black had appeared, all masked, holding sharp blades, and silently surrounded them.

"This...this is..." The fat woman's voice trembled violently. She wanted to escape, but found that her legs were as heavy as lead and she could not move.

The bandits panicked. Though fierce, they instinctively felt fear in the face of these well-trained, unidentified men in black. The bandit leader, forcing himself to remain calm, drew his curved sword and shouted, "Who are you? You dare block my way? You've got a death wish!"

The man in black ignored his shouts and continued to approach silently, his chilling killing intent making it hard for everyone to breathe.

"Boss, we..." A bandit approached his leader, his voice trembling, his eyes filled with fear.

The bandit leader glared at him fiercely and gritted his teeth, saying, "What are you afraid of! There are so many of us, are we afraid of them? Brothers, charge!"

However, his words did not ignite the bandits' fighting spirit; instead, they intensified their fear. Faced with the threat of death, their former ferocity vanished, leaving only boundless terror.

Just then, a clear voice broke the deadlock: "Stop."

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound and saw a woman dressed in white slowly emerge from the group of men in black. Her face was serene and her demeanor ethereal, like a fairy untouched by worldly concerns.

"Who are you?" the bandit leader asked warily.

The woman didn't answer, but merely glanced at everyone present before finally fixing her gaze on the plump woman, her tone icy: "Do you recognize me?"

The plump woman was stunned. She carefully examined the woman in front of her, and a scene suddenly flashed through her mind—that day, a woman just like this stood in front of her, her eyes cold, her tone sharp as she warned her…

"You...you are..." The fat woman's voice trembled, her eyes filled with fear.

The woman ignored her and turned to the bandit leader, her tone icy: "I will not pursue this matter today. But if there is a next time, you will bear the consequences."

After saying that, she turned and left, with the man in black following closely behind, disappearing into the night like a ghost.

The bandits exchanged bewildered glances, barely escaping with their lives, yet daring not to relax for a moment. The bandit leader stared in the direction the man in black had vanished, his face grim, a complex light flickering in his eyes.

The plump woman slumped to the ground, trembling all over. She knew she had messed with someone she shouldn't have. She looked up at the dark night sky, her heart filled with fear and unease.

The people in the carriage gradually came to their senses. Still shaken, they whispered among themselves, discussing what had just happened.

As night deepened, the official road returned to calm, with only the howling wind whistling past, as if recounting the thrilling scene that had just unfolded.
