Rebirth of Jinxuan

Mo Chenfan shook the oil paper package and bones in his hand. "I bought some breakfast, and some bones for Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba." As he spoke, he walked to the table and put the things down, and a fragrant aroma immediately filled the air.

Lu Yuhang's eyes lit up immediately. He ran quickly to the table, staring longingly at the oil paper package. "Wow, it smells so good! Uncle Mo, what's this delicious treat?"

"Steamed buns and porridge," Mo Chenfan ruffled Lu Yuhang's hair, "and your favorite sweet cakes."

Lu Yuhang cheered, grabbed a piece of sweet cake and started eating it, saying indistinctly, "Thank you, Uncle Mo!"

Seeing this scene, Lu Jinxuan felt a warmth rise in her heart. Although Mo Chenfan was sometimes clumsy, he was genuinely good to Lu Yuhang. She looked at Ai Xi, who was still standing at the door, and said gently, "Ai Xi, come and have some too."

Ai Xi hesitated for a moment, but still walked over. What happened last night made her a little embarrassed to face Mo Chenfan, but her stomach was growling with hunger, so she couldn't care less.

"Where is Qingyuan?" Lu Jinxuan looked around but didn't see Qingyuan.

"I'll go call her." Ai Xi put down the steamed bun in her hand, turned around and went into the house.

"I'll go call Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba," Mo Chenfan said, picking up the bone and heading towards the backyard.

"Xiao Wu? Xiao Ba?" Lu Yuhang asked, his mouth full of sugar cakes.

“Yes, they are two little spirit beasts,” Mo Chenfan explained, “a white wolf and a little black cat.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuhang immediately became interested. "Wow, a spirit beast! I want to see it too!" he said, and started to follow.

“You should eat your food properly,” Lu Jinxuan stopped him. “You can go after you finish eating.”

Lu Yuhang had no choice but to give up and continue munching on the sugar cake, but his eyes kept drifting towards the backyard with an expectant look on his face.

Ai Xi led Qing Yuan out. Qing Yuan was still dressed in plain clothes, her expression indifferent. She nodded slightly to Lu Jinxuan, then silently walked to the table and sat down.

Mo Chenfan's voice came from the backyard: "Xiao Wu! Xiao Ba! Get up and eat!"

Upon hearing the name, Lu Yuhang couldn't help but burst out laughing. "Uncle Mo, the name you chose is so silly!"

Lu Yuhang pursed his lips and muttered under his breath, "Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba are like kittens and puppies..."

Lu Jinxuan shook her head helplessly. This child is getting more and more mischievous.

Everyone was eating breakfast quietly, the atmosphere warm and peaceful. Suddenly, the sound of jars and bottles clattering came from the backyard, followed by Mo Chenfan's exclamation: "What's going on? My pills!"

A mournful howl shattered the tranquility inside the house, echoing from the backyard. Everyone was startled and exchanged bewildered glances.

"What's going on?" Lu Jinxuan's heart tightened, a sense of unease welling up inside her. Could something have happened?

"Uncle Mo!" Lu Yuhang exclaimed, dropping the sugar cake in his hand and running towards the backyard.

Lu Jinxuan and Ai Xi exchanged a glance and quickly followed. Qing Yuan remained silent for a moment before getting up and following behind.

Just as she reached the backyard gate, she saw Mo Chenfan angrily chasing two small animals all over the yard. Upon closer inspection, the two small animals were none other than Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba, the ones Mo Chenfan had mentioned.

Little Wu was pure white, slightly smaller than an ordinary wolf. It was currently tucking its tail between its legs, its limbs flailing rapidly, and it was making mournful "woof woof" sounds. Little Ba was small and entirely black, its bright green eyes filled with terror. It nimbly darted among the flowers and grass, its speed no slower than Little Wu's.

"Xiao Wu! Xiao Ba! Stop right there!" Mo Chenfan shouted breathlessly as he chased after them, his face full of anxiety and anger.

Lu Yuhang ran to Mo Chenfan's side, grabbed him, and asked anxiously, "Uncle Mo, what happened? Why are you chasing Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba?"

Mo Chenfan pointed at the two small beasts and said angrily, "They...they stole my pills!"

"Pills?" Lu Yuhang was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at the two little beasts. He saw that Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba had already hidden behind him, trembling and looking extremely pitiful.

“They were just playing, they didn’t do it on purpose,” Lu Yuhang said, shielding the two small animals behind him and trying to plead for them. “Uncle Mo, please forgive them this time.”

Mo Chenfan stomped his feet in anger, "No way! Those pills are very precious, they'll cause problems if they eat them!"

Lu Jinxuan didn't answer his question, but turned to look at Mo Chenfan and said calmly, "Don't worry, those pills aren't worth much..."

"Worthless?" Mo Chenfan was stunned. He stared at Lu Jinxuan in disbelief, wondering if he had misheard. Those pills were clearly...

“Mom, since the pills aren’t worth much, then Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba must be alright,” Lu Yuhang said, seeing Mo Chenfan’s blank expression. He quickly pulled Mo Chenfan’s arm and led him into the house. “Uncle Mo, let’s go eat first. I’m starving.”

Although Mo Chenfan was full of doubts, Lu Yuhang still pulled him into the house. Ai Xi had already set out the food, and when she saw them come in, she quietly stepped aside.

At the dinner table, Lu Yuhang ate with relish, occasionally glancing up at Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba hiding under the table, his eyes full of smiles. Mo Chenfan, however, ate without tasting his food; his gaze kept shifting between Lu Jinxuan and the two little beasts, his mind filled with suspicion.

"Why aren't they running away?" Mo Chenfan finally couldn't help but ask, pointing to Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba under the table. "They ate my pills, shouldn't they be afraid?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Yuhang looked up and stared at Mo Chenfan with a resentful expression. "Uncle Mo, could you please stop mentioning the pills? Look how scared you've made Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba; they're too scared to come out."

Mo Chenfan wanted to say something, but Ai Xi stopped him with a cold look. He could only lower his head sullenly and continue to pick at the food in his bowl.

Xiao Wu and Xiao Ba seemed to sense Mo Chenfan's hostility, occasionally peeking out from under the table, baring their teeth and growling menacingly at him. Mo Chenfan was startled by their fierce appearance, but dared not retaliate, and could only silently endure it.

Lu Jinxuan remained silent, eating her meal slowly and deliberately, a faint smile playing on her lips, as if everything was under her control…
