Black Myth: The Legend of Tianpeng Seeking Demons
Chapter 97 Dragon Legion
"Really?!" Jukeli exclaimed excitedly in his heart, his eyes wide open in the water as if trying to etch the entire stone tablet into his mind. "Then...how do we awaken it?"
Xiao Bai's voice rang out again, this time with a hint of solemnity: "These runes are incantations used to awaken the power of the Dragon Knight's bracers. But, Juklee, be careful; this power is not so easy to control."
Juckley took a deep breath, the movement instinctively made even underwater. His eyes hardened. "Tell me what to do, Little White. We have no way out."
Xiao Bai paused for a moment, then began to teach Jukeli the spells he had deciphered, word by word. These spells were extremely complex; each syllable contained powerful magic, and the slightest mistake could lead to disastrous consequences.
Juklee closed his eyes, concentrated all his attention, and began to silently chant the incantation in his mind. As the incantation was chanted, the runes on the stone tablet began to emit a dazzling light, a blue halo spread in the water, and the entire lake bottom began to tremble violently.
Avril cautiously surveyed her surroundings, ready to face any potential danger. Suddenly, she felt the wristband on her wrist begin to heat up and emit a golden light. The light grew stronger and stronger, eventually transforming into a golden pillar that pierced the lake's surface and soared into the sky.
On the lake, the battle between the ancient dragon and Adrian reached its climax. The ancient dragon's power was indeed immense, even Adrian, a dragon knight, was finding it difficult to withstand. Just as Adrian felt overwhelmed, a sudden golden pillar of light attracted everyone's attention.
"What is that?" Adrian exclaimed, his face filled with confusion and worry. The ancient dragon also stopped its attack, watching the pillar of light warily, letting out a low roar.
Just then, the lake water churned again, and Jukeley and Avril emerged from the lakebed, their bodies radiating golden light, like two gods descended from the heavens. Avril gripped the bracer in her hand; she could feel the immense power contained within it, the power she had always dreamed of. She laughed wildly, her laughter filled with ecstasy and excitement, "I finally... gained power!"
Jukeli couldn't help but smile smugly. "You idiot, well done!" Little White's voice rang in his ear, unusually tinged with praise. "Looks like your 'Eye of Insight' is actually quite useful!"
“Of course, don’t you know who I am!” Juklee said smugly, completely forgetting the fear and tension he had felt at the bottom of the lake.
Adrian stared at Avril and Juckley, his eyes filled with shock and disbelief. "This...how is this possible?" he murmured, his voice trembling slightly. "How could you...control the power of a dragon?"
Avril turned to look at Adrian, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by determination. "I will make you understand that I am the true master of this power!" Her voice was firm and powerful, as if she were no longer the girl who needed to rely on others.
The ancient dragon seemed to sense the change in Avril, a hint of hesitation flashing in its eyes. Just then, Avril raised the bracer in her hand, and golden light instantly intensified, forming a massive energy field that enveloped the ancient dragon.
"Heed my call and submit to me!" Avril cried out, her voice carrying an undeniable authority. The ancient dragon let out a painful roar, seemingly struggling against this power. The entire sky was enveloped in golden light, lightning flashed and thunder roared, the wind and clouds changed color, as if the heavens and earth themselves trembled in the face of this contest of power.
Watching this breathtaking scene, Jukele swallowed hard. "Little White, can Avril... really control that dragon?"
“That’s hard to say,” Xiaobai’s voice was unusually serious. “The power of the ancient dragon far exceeds our imagination. Even with the help of the bracers, fully controlling it is not an easy task.”
Just then, the ancient dragon suddenly let out a deafening roar, and the golden energy field began to fluctuate violently. Avril's face showed a pained expression; she gritted her teeth, and cold sweat beaded on her forehead, clearly undergoing an intense mental battle.
"No!" Adrian shouted, charging forward on his frost dragon. But Juklee stopped him. "Wait! Trust Avril, she can do it!"
Adrian hesitated for a moment, then finally stopped. He looked at Avril nervously, his heart filled with conflicting emotions. On one hand, he was happy that Avril had gained such great power; on the other hand, he was worried that this power would harm her.
Avril felt unprecedented pressure; the will of the ancient dragon, like a monstrous wave, relentlessly assaulted her mental defenses. Her arms began to tremble, and cold sweat poured down her forehead. Just when she felt she was about to collapse, a voice resounded in her mind.
“Avril, don’t forget why you pursue power!” It was Juklee’s voice, full of encouragement and support. “You’re doing it to protect those who matter, to create a better world! Don’t let power blind you; guide it with your will!”
These words struck Avril like a bolt of lightning, instantly illuminating her confused mind. She remembered her original intentions and the people who needed her protection. She took a deep breath, her eyes becoming firm and bright.
"I did not come to conquer you," Avril said to the ancient dragon, her voice gentle yet firm. "I need your power to protect this world. Let us join hands to create a peaceful future!"
The ancient dragon seemed moved by Avril's sincerity, its gaze gradually softening. The golden energy field ceased its violent fluctuations, instead becoming more stable. Slowly, the ancient dragon lowered its proud head and approached Avril.
Avril reached out and gently stroked the ancient dragon's scales. A warm current flowed between them, as if they were connected by a shared understanding. The ancient dragon let out a gentle roar, the flames in its eyes no longer filled with hostility, but rather with a hint of affection.
"This is...this is unbelievable!" Juckley stared in disbelief at the scene. "Avril...she really did it!"
Adrian was also stunned by the sight before him. He had never imagined that anyone could communicate with a dragon in this way. His gaze towards Avril held not only surprise but also a hint of admiration.
Just then, a commotion suddenly arose in the distant sky. Jukele squinted and looked closely, then gasped, "What...what is that?"
On the distant horizon, a large group of black dots appeared, rapidly approaching. As they drew closer, they finally saw the true nature of those black dots—a herd of giant dragons!
Various kinds of dragons, some breathing fire, some spitting ice, and some even controlling lightning. They were arranged in neat formations, their imposing presence resembling an ancient dragon legion.
