Black Myth: The Legend of Tianpeng Seeking Demons

Chapter 57 House Arrest of Su Bing

When Su Bing returned to her apartment, she felt as if an invisible boulder was pressing down on her, making it almost impossible for her to breathe. She closed the door, locked it tightly, and walked into her room step by step, each step feeling weak and powerless, as if she were walking on cotton.

She collapsed onto the bed, clutching her pillow tightly, as if only in this way could she barely find a sliver of security.

Images of her time with Zhu Feifei kept flashing through her mind. Those sweet, reassuring moments felt like they were happening just yesterday. Zhu Feifei's smile, his gentle voice, his figure shielding her from danger—it all felt like a beautiful memory.

But after this beautiful moment, like a nightmare in the dark, a face covered in pig hair leaped out of her memory, abruptly tearing away the veil of warmth.

"Is he... really a monster?" Su Bing murmured to herself, her voice so low that she could barely hear it herself.

Her fingers trembled, her hands gripping the pillow tightly, her knuckles turning white. An invisible chain of fear tightened around her heart. She tried desperately to calm herself, but her chaotic thoughts surged like a burst dam, unstoppable.

"If he really is a monster, then why is he so kind to me?" Her voice was filled with deep confusion, and the questions in her heart were like a whirlpool, gradually pulling her deeper. She tried hard to recall every detail about Zhu Feifei, trying to find clues and figure out what kind of person he really was.

However, the more she thought about it, the colder she felt. Those seemingly flawless acts of care and consideration now seemed eerie. "Was all of this just for some purpose?"

Su Bing couldn't help but shiver; the suspicions in her heart made her feel helpless. She desperately hoped these were just her overthinking, that she was only scaring herself. She tried to believe Zhu Feifei, but reality repeatedly reminded her that things were far more complicated than that.

Just as she was lost in her chaotic thoughts, her phone suddenly rang. The unexpected ringtone was like a sharp knife, piercing through her confused mind. She was startled, her hand trembled, and the phone almost slipped off the bed.

She picked up her phone, glanced at the screen, and saw that it was Bai Ling calling.

"President Su, are you alright?" Bai Ling's voice was filled with anxiety and worry, as if she had already sensed that something was wrong with Su Bing.

Su Bing took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She suppressed her inner turmoil and tried to respond in a steady tone, "I'm fine, Bai Ling." She knew that there was still a slight, barely concealed tremor in her voice, but she didn't want Bai Ling to see too much.

"Mr. Su, an important client of the company suddenly requests to see you today." Bai Ling's tone was still somewhat uneasy. "I've already arranged a meeting in the conference room at the Mingzhu Business Hotel. Would it be convenient for you to go there?"

Su Bing's mind was a mess. She wanted to refuse outright, as she had no mood to deal with anything at the moment. All she wanted to do was hide away, retreat to this room, and escape the hustle and bustle of the outside world. However, as the CEO, she knew she couldn't run away.

"Okay, I'll be right there." She hung up the phone, which slipped onto the bed with a soft thud.

Su Bing looked at herself in the mirror, her expression haggard. She ran her hand through her messy hair, trying her best to appear calm. She couldn't let others see her vulnerability, especially at this critical juncture.

Zhu Feifei's case remains unresolved, and Zhao Tianxiong's shadow keeps looming over her, making her uneasy. She took a deep breath, forced herself to calm down, and left the apartment.

Half an hour later, Su Bing arrived at the Pearl Business Hotel. The spacious lobby was filled with a faint fragrance, and the decor was as elegant and luxurious as ever. She gripped her bag tightly, her palms were already sweating, but she maintained a calm demeanor on the surface.

She followed the waiter into the elevator. The background music inside was soft and soothing, but to Su Bing, the silence felt particularly oppressive. Every second seemed to stretch on endlessly as she watched the elevator slowly ascend, her heart pounding faster and faster.

Outside the conference room on the top floor, Su Bing stopped, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself. She grasped the doorknob and pushed the door open.

The conference room was empty. The lighting was soft, yet it felt cold and desolate. Su Bing stood at the door for a moment, then frowned.

"What's going on?" A sense of unease arose in her heart. She turned around to ask the waiter, but heard a soft "click" behind her.

She turned around abruptly and found that the conference room door was locked from the outside. Su Bing's heart jumped into her throat. She quickly walked to the door and tried to push it open, but no matter how hard she tried, the door wouldn't budge.

"Is anyone home?" She knocked on the door, her voice urgent. However, there was no response from outside; the entire conference room remained eerily quiet.

Just then, a gloomy voice came from the corner of the conference room.

"President Su, how have you been?"

Su Bing turned around abruptly, her heart clenching. Zhao Tianxiong slowly emerged from the shadows, a cold smile playing on his lips. His steps were unhurried, his hands in his pockets, as if he were watching a prey that had been trapped.

"Zhao Tianxiong! What do you want to do?" Su Bing's voice was icy, trying to mask her inner panic with anger. She subconsciously took a step back, staring at him warily.

Zhao Tianxiong shrugged indifferently, walked to the conference table, pulled out a chair, and sat down. His gaze remained fixed on Su Bing, as if he were slowly appreciating her reaction.

"Don't be nervous, I just want to have a good talk with you... about Zhu Feifei."

Upon hearing Zhu Feifei's name, Su Bing's heart skipped a beat. She forced herself to calm down, but the fear and doubt in her heart had already begun to throw her thoughts into disarray.

"What do you know?" She tried her best to keep her voice steady, but in reality, her heart was filled with a mixture of emotions, like a bottle of mixed flavors.

Zhao Tianxiong sneered, crossed his arms, and slowly leaned back in his chair, his eyes filled with confidence and smugness: "I know far more than you think."

His voice was deliberately slowed down, as if every word carried a hint of provocation, sending chills down one's spine: "Zhu Feifei approached you only to use you." Upon hearing this, Su Bing's heart sank, as if a boulder had been thrown into a deep pool.

She subconsciously clenched her fists, trying to suppress her inner turmoil with anger. However, Zhao Tianxiong seemed to see through her thoughts, and the mockery in his eyes intensified. Then, he slowly stood up and walked slowly towards Su Bing.

"Don't you understand? Zhu Feifei isn't human at all; he's a monster—a pig demon. You think he'd be so nice to you for no reason? How naive!" Zhao Tianxiong's voice was like a sharp blade, piercing directly into Su Bing's heart.

Su Bing's breathing became rapid, and her heart pounded. She tried to calm herself down, but Zhao Tianxiong's words struck her most vulnerable spot like a heavy hammer.

Seeing her wavering, Zhao Tianxiong pressed on: "Cooperate with me, Su Bing. I can help you expose his true colors."

Su Bing pressed herself against the wall, almost with nowhere left to retreat. Her body trembled slightly, and the unsolved mysteries in her mind seemed to find their answers in Zhao Tianxiong's words.

"What exactly do you want?" Su Bing's voice trembled slightly, her body shaking as she looked at him with fear and despair. She realized she might be trapped in an inescapable predicament, and the man before her seemed to have ulterior motives towards her.

A cold smile crept across Zhao Tianxiong's lips as he approached Su Bing step by step, his eyes gleaming with wicked intent. "Haha, what do you think I want to do? Of course, I want to make you my woman!" His voice was deep and hoarse, filled with threat and possessiveness.

Just then, Zhao Tianxiong's phone rang, breaking the tense atmosphere. He frowned, impatiently pulled out his phone, and looked at the caller ID on the screen, a surge of irritation rising within him. However, when he heard the voice on the other end of the line, his face instantly darkened.

"What is it?" Zhao Tianxiong's tone became urgent, his eyes fixed on the front, as if trying to see the other person through the phone.

"Brother Xiong, something terrible has happened! Zhu Chen has found our location!" Bai Ling's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone, a hint of panic in her tone. "He's on his way here, he should be here soon!"

Zhao Tianxiong's face turned extremely ugly. He gritted his teeth and cursed viciously, "Damn it! How did he find this place?" His gaze turned to Su Bing. "Hmph, no matter what, Su Bing is in my hands!"

"Damn it!" With that, he slammed down the phone and, without hesitation, stepped forward, striking Su Bing on the back of the neck. Su Bing felt a sudden darkness engulf her, her body instantly losing control, plunging her into endless darkness.

When Su Bing woke up again, she found herself tied up in an unfamiliar room. The air was filled with a damp, musty smell, the walls were dilapidated, and only a faint light shone through the window.

She struggled desperately, trying to break free of the ropes binding her, but her hands and feet were tightly bound, and she couldn't move an inch. A strong sense of fear washed over her again, making her tremble uncontrollably.

She had no idea where she was, nor what fate awaited her. Just as she was feeling desperate, a familiar figure suddenly flashed through her mind—Zhu Feifei!

Although she had harbored doubts and fears about him, at this moment, she couldn't help but hope that he would appear before her, just like before, and rescue her from the crisis.
