Black Myth: The Legend of Tianpeng Seeking Demons
Chapter 240 Digging Lunar Soil
"Hey! This feels great!" Zhu Feifei dug around and jumped around in the meteorite crater, having a great time.
"Be careful, don't fall." Chang Juan couldn't help but remind Zhu Feifei, looking at her childish appearance.
"Don't worry, Researcher Chang Juan, I'm very capable!" Zhu Feifei said confidently, then made another big leap, landing directly on the edge of the crater.
"Wow, the scenery here is really beautiful!" Zhu Feifei stood at the edge of the crater, looking down at the entire crater, and couldn't help but exclaim.
"Don't just look at the scenery, get to work!" Chang Juan's voice came from below.
"Okay, sure!" Zhu Feifei quickly replied, then turned her gaze away and continued digging into the lunar soil.
However, at that moment, he suddenly felt his feet slip and his body lose its balance.
"Ah!" Zhu Feifei exclaimed in surprise, and slid down to the bottom of the meteorite crater.
"Zhu Feifei!" Chang Juan heard Zhu Feifei's exclamation and quickly looked up, only to see Zhu Feifei sliding down the slope of the meteorite crater at high speed.
"Watch out!" Chang Juan shouted, but it was too late.
Zhu Feifei felt a sudden dizziness, and then with a "bang," she crashed heavily to the bottom of the meteorite crater.
"Ouch, my butt!" Zhu Feifei groaned in pain, feeling as if his buttocks were about to be smashed into eight pieces.
"Are you alright?" Chang Juan rushed over and asked with concern.
"I...I'm fine." Zhu Feifei struggled to stand up, but found a sharp pain in her ankle.
"I think I twisted my ankle..." Zhu Feifei said, frowning.
"Let me see." Chang Juan squatted down to examine Zhu Feifei's ankle.
"Ouch...it hurts!" Zhu Feifei gasped, wincing in pain.
"Don't move, your ankle is swollen and needs to be immobilized," Chang Juan said, then took out some bandages and splints from the toolbox and began to treat Zhu Feifei's injury.
"Thank you, Researcher Chang Juan." Zhu Feifei looked at Chang Juan's earnest expression and felt deeply grateful.
"You're welcome, it's what I should do," Chang Juan said calmly, then continued bandaging Zhu Feifei's wound.
"By the way, Researcher Chang Juan, you just said that the surface of the moon is full of dangers. What kinds of dangers are there?" Zhu Feifei asked curiously, trying to distract himself and ease his pain.
“There are many dangers on the lunar surface, such as meteorite impacts, solar radiation, and extreme temperature differences,” Chang Juan said. “However, the most dangerous are the unknown creatures.”
"Unknown creatures? You mean... aliens?" Zhu Feifei's eyes widened.
“I don’t know.” Chang Juan shook her head. “I only know that there are some creatures on the moon that we humans don’t yet know about, and they may pose a threat to us.”
"Really? Wouldn't that put us in great danger?" Zhu Feifei asked nervously.
“Don’t worry, we have spacesuits to protect us, and ordinary creatures can’t harm us,” Chang Juan said. “However, we still need to be careful and try to avoid conflict with them.”
"Okay, I understand." Zhu Feifei nodded.
"Alright, your ankle is immobilized now," Chang Juan said. "Rest here for a bit, I'll go collect rock samples."
"Okay," Zhu Feifei agreed, then watched Chang Juan leave.
After Chang Juan left, Zhu Feifei sat alone at the bottom of the meteorite crater, looking at the desolate scene around her, her heart filled with emotion.
"I didn't expect the moon to be so dangerous. It seems this mission isn't as simple as I imagined," Zhu Feifei thought to herself.
"You idiot, are you scared now?" The voice of the Ringwraith White echoed in his mind.
"I'm not afraid at all!" Zhu Feifei retorted stubbornly. "I'm like Pigsy from Journey to the West, what storms haven't I weathered?"
"Tch, you're just bragging!" Little White Ringwraith said dismissively. "If Chang Juan hadn't saved you, you would have been smashed to pieces!"
"That...that was just an accident!" Zhu Feifei argued. "I'll definitely be more careful next time!"
"I hope so," said Little White Ringwraith. "By the way, you idiot, have you noticed that this meteorite crater is a bit strange?"
"Strange? What's strange about it?" Zhu Feifei asked, puzzled.
“Take a close look at the surrounding rocks. Do you see anything unusual?” said Little White Ringwraith.
Upon hearing this, Zhu Feifei began to carefully observe the surrounding rocks.
He noticed that the colors and patterns of these rocks seemed somewhat different. Some rocks had a light red hue, while others had a light blue hue. Moreover, the patterns on these rocks seemed to follow a very regular pattern, like some kind of writing or symbols.
"What...what is this?" Zhu Feifei asked in surprise.
“I don’t know either,” said Little White Ringwraith. “However, I feel that these rocks seem to contain some kind of energy.”
"Energy?" Zhu Feifei's heart skipped a beat. He quickly grasped the nine-bead bracelet in his hand, trying to sense the energy within the rocks.
However, at that moment, he suddenly felt a tremor beneath his feet, and then the entire crater began to shake violently.
"What's going on? Is it an earthquake?!" Zhu Feifei exclaimed, quickly grabbing onto a nearby rock to steady herself.
"It's not an earthquake, it's..." Little White's voice suddenly became tense, "...a moonquake! And...something's coming!"
"What is that?!" Before Zhu Feifei could react, she saw a huge crack suddenly open in the rock wall of the meteorite crater, and then a huge black shadow emerged from the crack!
"What...what kind of monster is this?!" Zhu Feifei stared in disbelief at the enormous black shadow before her.
The dark shadow was over ten meters tall, covered in black scales, and possessed a massive head with enormous eyes that gleamed with a scarlet light. Its mouth was filled with sharp teeth, and its limbs were thick and powerful with incredibly sharp claws; it looked like a lizard magnified countless times!
"Roar!!!"
The monster let out a deafening roar and then pounced on Zhu Feifei!
"Damn it! We're doomed!" Zhu Feifei cried out in his heart. He never expected to encounter such a terrifying monster on the moon!
He turned to run away, but his ankle was injured and he couldn't run fast at all.
Just as the monster was about to pounce on him, at the critical moment, a figure suddenly blocked his way.
"Chang Juan?!" Zhu Feifei looked at Chang Juan, who was blocking his way, in surprise. He hadn't expected that Chang Juan would step forward in this critical moment.
Chang Juan held a strange device in her hand, pointed it at the monster, and then pressed a button.
"Zizzizi..."
The device emitted a piercing sound, and then a blue beam of light shot out from it, striking the monster.
"Roar!!!"
The monster was hit by the beam of light, let out a scream, and staggered back a few steps.
"What...is this weapon?" Zhu Feifei asked in surprise.
“This is a sonic gun, specifically designed to deal with this kind of monster,” Chang Juan said. “However, its power is limited; it can only temporarily repel it.”
"So what do we do now?" Zhu Feifei asked.
"We must get out of here as soon as possible!" Chang Juan said. "We are no match for this monster!"
"But my foot is injured, so I can't run fast!" Zhu Feifei said.
"I'll carry you on my back!" Chang Juan said, squatting down and gesturing for Zhu Feifei to get on.
"This...this is too much trouble," Zhu Feifei said somewhat embarrassedly.
"Stop talking nonsense and come up here!" Chang Juan urged.
Having no other choice, Zhu Feifei had to climb onto Chang Juan's back.
Chang Juan carried Zhu Feifei on her back and ran towards the outside of the meteorite crater.
"Roar!!!"
The monster lunged at them again.
As Chang Juan ran, she turned back and fired her sonic gun at the monster, trying to stop its pursuit.
However, the monster was too fast, and its scales were extremely hard, so the sonic gun did very little damage to it.
Just as the monster was about to catch up with them, Zhu Feifei suddenly remembered her nine-bead bracelet.
"Chang Juan, you run first, I'll hold it off!" Zhu Feifei said.
“No, you’re no match for it!” Chang Juan said.
"Trust me, I can do it!" Zhu Feifei said, jumping off Chang Juan's back.
He took a deep breath, pushed the power of the nine-bead bracelet to its limit, and then swung the shovel in his hand. A golden light burst from the shovel and slashed towards the monster.
"Golden Light Demon-Slaying Slash!"
"Roar!!!"
The monster was struck by the golden light, let out a scream, and staggered back a few steps.
"It works!" Zhu Feifei was overjoyed. He hadn't expected that his "Golden Light Demon-Slaying Slash" could actually damage this kind of monster.
"Chang Juan, run!" Zhu Feifei shouted to Chang Juan.
Chang Juan glanced at Zhu Feifei, then nodded, turned and ran towards the edge of the crater.
Zhu Feifei stayed behind to continue fighting the monster.
He brandished his prop shovel, continuously unleashing the "Golden Light Demon-Slaying Slash" to attack the monster.
Although the monster was forced to retreat by Zhu Feifei's attacks, it did not give up and continued to pounce on Zhu Feifei.
A fierce battle unfolded between the human and the monster within the meteorite crater.
