Black Myth: The Legend of Tianpeng Seeking Demons
Chapter 232 Monster Department
Zhu Feifei's sudden transformation was like a bombshell dropped into the once peaceful restaurant, instantly plunging the entire place into chaos.
The diners scattered in terror like startled sparrows, screams and shouts rising and falling.
The waiters were terrified and sprinted under the tables. The once tidy restaurant was instantly turned into a mess, with plates, tables and chairs scattered all over the floor.
Hu Meiniang was also quite frightened by this sudden change. Her body trembled violently, and the chopsticks in her hand fell to the ground with a "clatter".
But she was someone who had seen a lot, and after a brief moment of panic, she quickly forced herself to calm down.
She stared wide-eyed at the enormous wild boar before her, which was more than a person tall, covered in black fur, and had protruding tusks. Her heart was filled with helplessness and confusion, as if her mind was a jumbled mess.
"Zhu Feifei, what... what exactly are you up to?" Hu Meiniang asked in a trembling voice. Her legs felt like they were filled with lead, and every step she took was incredibly difficult. She wanted to get closer to Zhu Feifei, but she was frightened by his ferocious appearance and hesitated.
"Hu... Miss Hu, I... I'm more wronged than Dou E..." Zhu Feifei spoke in human language, her voice exceptionally rough due to her transformation into a wild boar. Each word seemed to come from a loudspeaker, carrying a strong echo that made one's eardrums ache.
"I ate that roast suckling pig you gave me, and who knew that the next second... I'd turn into this horrible mess..."
"Roast suckling pig?" Hu Meiniang was stunned, her eyes widening like saucers. Her gaze darted back and forth between the remaining roast suckling pig on the table and Zhu Feifei. Suddenly, the image of that "Eternal Youth" bun flashed through her mind.
"Could it be... the side effects of that steamed bun and the roast suckling pig? Did those two create a 'chemical reaction' when they got together?"
"Steamed buns? What steamed buns?" Linda, like a frightened little hamster, cautiously crawled out from under the table, her face still showing lingering fear, and asked in a terrified voice.
"Oh dear, this isn't the time for gossip!" Hu Meiniang stamped her feet anxiously, waving her hands in the air. "We have to think of a way to turn him back quickly, otherwise we'll all be taken in for 'tea' when the police arrive!"
"How do I turn back?" Linda looked at the giant wild boar rampaging in front of her, spread her hands, and her face was full of helplessness. "I'm not a magician, I don't have that magical wand!"
"I... I'm completely clueless too..." Hu Meiniang looked bewildered, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead from her anxiety.
"Hehe, I know, I know!" Just when everyone was at their wits' end, a familiar yet slightly irritating voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw a young man in a suit with slicked-back hair walking out of the crowd like a celebrity on a red carpet. It was Fang Zijian, who had appeared in Baijiazhuang before.
"Fang Zijian? Why are you like a ghost, haunting me?" Hu Meiniang stared wide-eyed in surprise, her mouth agape enough to fit an egg.
"I came here to fill my stomach, but I never expected to stumble upon such a wonderful 'reality show'." Fang Zijian smiled slightly, revealing a set of pearly white teeth, a smile that seemed to say, "I'm here to save the world." "Ms. Hu, long time no see, how have you been! Are you hosting an 'animal carnival party'?"
"What are you doing here? You didn't come here just to watch the show, did you?" Hu Meiniang was surprised by Fang Zijian's appearance, and her eyes became more wary. She unconsciously crossed her arms over her chest.
“I told you, I came here to eat.” Fang Zijian shrugged, looking completely innocent. “However, the current situation is much more interesting than eating. I think it would be more rewarding to help Miss Hu solve her current big problem.”
"You can help me? You? Don't brag!" Hu Meiniang looked at Fang Zijian with suspicion, a slight upturn of her lips revealing a doubtful smile.
“Of course.” Fang Zijian patted his chest confidently, as if it contained all the wisdom in the world. “I’m the ‘all-knowing little Zhuge Liang,’ I know how to turn him back into human form.”
"Really? That's like a savior has arrived!" Hu Meiniang was overjoyed, her eyes sparkling with hope. "Tell me quickly, what do you need to do? Stop keeping me in suspense!"
“It’s very simple, just give him an injection of a sedative.” Fang Zijian said, and as if by magic, he pulled a syringe from his pocket. The syringe contained an unknown liquid that gleamed eerily under the light.
"A tranquilizer?" Hu Meiniang hesitated, her brows furrowing into a deep frown. "This... this won't turn him into a 'vegetable pig,' will it?"
"Don't worry, Miss Hu, this sedative is a secret recipe, all-natural, additive-free, and has no side effects," Fang Zijian assured her, patting his chest. "Moreover, it's a 'fast track' to restoring him to human form—it's incredibly fast!"
Hu Meiniang glanced at Fang Zijian, then at Zhu Feifei, who had turned into a wild boar and was running around the restaurant like a headless fly. After a struggle within her, she finally gritted her teeth and nodded: "Alright, let's try it as a last resort."
With Hu Meiniang's permission, Fang Zijian immediately walked towards Zhu Feifei with a syringe in hand, his face full of confidence, like a brave warrior.
"Zhu Feifei, don't move around. I'll give you an injection and you'll be fine," Fang Zijian said, his voice carrying a hint of coaxing a child.
"A shot? No way!" Upon hearing the word "shot," Zhu Feifei's fur stood on end, and like a frightened rabbit, she quickly backed away, her four thick legs leaving marks on the ground as she tried to avoid Fang Zijian.
"I, Zhu Bajie, fear neither heaven nor earth, but I'm terrified of injections! Besides, what's in this syringe? Could it be poison?"
"Don't run! Stop right there!" Fang Zijian saw Zhu Feifei trying to run away, so he quickly chased after her, adjusting his suit as he ran, as if it were a fashion chase.
For a moment, a comical farce of a man chasing a pig unfolded in the restaurant. Fang Zijian ran behind, panting heavily, his hair disheveled, while Zhu Feifei dashed left and right in front, occasionally letting out a scream of terror.
"Hey, don't run away! I promise it won't hurt!" Fang Zijian shouted as he chased after him, his voice hoarse.
"I don't believe you! Injections hurt the most!" Zhu Feifei shouted as she ran, her voice shaking the restaurant windows. "Help! They're slaughtering a pig!"
"Hahahaha..." The onlookers laughed so hard they were doubled over, some even laughing until tears streamed down their faces.
"This...this is hilarious! It's even more exciting than a comedy movie!"
"Is this a movie or real? Am I dreaming?"
"These days, even pigs are afraid of injections! This world is crazy!"
Looking at the chaotic scene before them, Hu Meiniang and Linda couldn't help but sigh, their faces filled with helplessness.
"Little White, Little White, think of something quick! If this continues, they'll tear the restaurant down!" Hu Meiniang anxiously called out to the spirit Little White in her heart.
"Don't rush, don't rush, let me think..." The voice of the Ring Spirit White rang in her mind, with a hint of contemplation. "I've got it! I remember there's a 'Monster Encyclopedia' in the Moonlight Ring. Maybe the key to solving the problem is hidden there!"
"The Encyclopedia of Monsters?" Hu Meiniang was taken aback, her face full of doubt. "How come I've never heard of it before?"
"That's because you weren't authorized to view it before," said Little White Ringwraith. "The situation is urgent now, so I'll give you a 'backdoor' and temporarily grant you access. Take a look quickly!"
Hu Meiniang quickly closed her eyes and silently recited "Moonlight Ring" in her heart.
A flash of white light, and her consciousness entered a strange space. She saw a huge bookshelf filled with all kinds of books, like a treasure trove of knowledge.
"Found it! The Encyclopedia of Monsters!" Hu Meiniang quickly found the book. Her hands trembled as she turned the pages, her eyes scanning the pages like a scanner.
"Pig demon, Marshal Tianpeng... gluttonous, lustful... transformation... weakness..." Hu Meiniang muttered to herself as she read.
Suddenly, she saw a line of text: "The pig demon is afraid of being frightened, especially by sharp sounds."
"A sharp sound?" Hu Meiniang's eyes lit up. She quickly exited the space of the Moonlight Treasure Ring and then took out a...
