Black Myth: The Legend of Tianpeng Seeking Demons
Chapter 229 Catching Up with Him
Zhu Feifei followed the distinctive scent of Wang Dapao's perfume, tracking him all the way. Hu Meiniang and Linda followed closely behind. The three of them crossed the film set, rounded several corners, and finally arrived at the parking lot.
"Found it! It's that van!" Zhu Feifei said, pointing to a dilapidated van not far away, his pig nose twitching excitedly. "I can smell that thing!"
Hu Meiniang and Linda looked at the dilapidated van in front of them, and then at Zhu Feifei's confident demeanor, and both felt a little doubtful. This car didn't look like something a paparazzi would use, and with such a large parking lot, could he really smell that paparazzi?
"Are you sure it's him?" Hu Meiniang asked, her tone tinged with uncertainty.
"Don't worry, beautiful lady, my nose...it never makes a mistake!" Zhu Feifei patted his chest and assured her, "This is my...my unique skill!"
"Alright, let's go take a look." Although Hu Meiniang had her doubts, she had no other choice but to trust Zhu Feifei.
The three cautiously approached the van. Zhu Feifei gestured for Hu Meiniang and Linda to hide behind her, then took a deep breath and kicked the van door open.
"Hey! You paparazzi, surrender now!" Zhu Feifei shouted, preparing to give Wang Dapao a hard time.
However, the car was empty except for a laptop screen that was lit up, showing a photo of Hu Meiniang and Zhu Feifei in the van, while Wang Dapao had long since disappeared.
"Where is he?" Linda exclaimed.
"Damn it! He got away!" Zhu Feifei said in frustration. He hadn't expected Wang Dapao to be so cunning, managing to slip away unnoticed.
Hu Meiniang walked to her laptop, staring at the photos on the screen, her face ashen. If these photos were leaked, her career would be completely over.
"What do we do now?" Linda asked anxiously. "He still has the photos; we have to find him as soon as possible!"
"Don't worry, don't worry, let me, Old Pig... think of another way." Zhu Feifei scratched his head and began to think of a solution. Suddenly, he had a flash of inspiration and remembered that he had a treasure—the Moonlight Ring.
"Little White, Little White, come out and help!" Zhu Feifei silently prayed in her heart.
"What? You idiot, don't bother me while I'm watching TV!" The lazy voice of the Ringwraith White echoed in his mind.
"Oh dear, Xiaobai, is this the time to watch TV dramas? Hurry up and help me find someone!" Zhu Feifei said anxiously.
"Looking for someone? Who are you looking for?" Little White Ringwraith asked casually.
"It's that paparazzi, Wang Dapao! He secretly took photos of Hu Meiniang. We have to find him and get the photos back!" Zhu Feifei explained.
"Oh, you mean that short, fat guy?" Little White Ringwraith seemed to remember something. "I noticed him a long time ago; he has an unpleasant smell about him."
"A disgusting smell? What smell?" Zhu Feifei asked curiously.
"A stench of money, and... well, how should I put it, a sleazy smell," said Little White Ringwraith. "This is the smell I hate the most!"
"Never mind the smell for now, can you find him?" Zhu Feifei urged.
“Piece of cake!” Little White Ringwraith said smugly. “Just you wait, I’ll pinpoint his location for you right away.”
After a while, the voice of the Ringwraith White rang out again: "Found him! He's... well, in an internet cafe about two kilometers from here."
"An internet cafe?" Zhu Feifei was taken aback. "What's he doing at an internet cafe?"
"Who knows? Maybe they want to upload the photos online," said Little White the Ringwraith. "You'd better hurry over, or it'll be too late!"
"Okay, let's go!" Zhu Feifei said quickly, then pulled Hu Meiniang and Linda and ran out of the parking lot.
"Hey, wait a minute, let's drive there!" Linda called out quickly.
"We're too late, driving is too slow!" Zhu Feifei said. "Trust me, we'll be faster running!"
After saying that, he ignored Hu Meiniang and Linda's objections, picked them up, and ran away.
"Ah!!!" Hu Meiniang and Linda screamed in fright. They felt the wind whistling in their ears and the surrounding scenery rushing past them. This speed was even more thrilling than riding a roller coaster!
"Zhu Feifei, you...you slow down! I...I'm going to throw up!" Hu Meiniang said, her face pale, as she tightly hugged Zhu Feifei's shoulders.
"Yes, Zhu Feifei, where...where are you taking us?" Linda was also terrified; she had never experienced anything like this before!
"Don't worry, beautiful, we'll be there soon!" Zhu Feifei reassured her as she ran, "I, Old Pig... I'm very fast!"
As he spoke, he didn't forget to free one hand to pull a chicken leg out of his pocket and happily start gnawing on it.
"You...you still have the appetite to eat?!" Linda was speechless when she saw Zhu Feifei eating a chicken leg while running.
"Hehe, people need food to survive, you'll get hungry if you skip a meal!" Zhu Feifei said while gnawing on a chicken leg. "Besides, you need to be full to have the energy to catch paparazzi!"
Hu Meiniang and Linda were completely speechless. All they could do now was pray that Zhu Feifei could reach his destination as soon as possible and end this crazy "journey".
The lightning speed made Hu Meiniang and Linda feel like their insides were about to turn upside down, their stomachs churning. If they had known it would be like this, they would have preferred to take the carriage!
"Zhu...Zhu Feifei, slow down, I...I'm going to throw up..." Hu Meiniang clung tightly to Zhu Feifei's clothes, gasping for breath. She had never experienced such a thrilling "transportation" in her life; it was a hundred times more dangerous than riding a roller coaster!
"Almost there, almost there, just a little longer!" Zhu Feifei said without turning his head, his speed not slowing down at all, speeding along the road like a gust of wind.
Passersby were stunned by the sight, staring in disbelief as Zhu Feifei carried two beautiful women past them like a whirlwind.
"Holy crap, what's going on? Are we filming a movie?"
"This guy is amazing! He can carry two people and still run so fast?"
"At that speed, he could win a championship in the Olympics!"
Passersby were discussing it, and many took out their phones to take pictures and videos.
Finally, just as Hu Meiniang and Linda were on the verge of collapse, Zhu Feifei stopped. He gently placed them on the ground and then pointed to an internet cafe not far ahead, saying, "We're here! That's it!"
Hu Meiniang and Linda looked up and saw that the internet cafe's signboard read "Extreme Speed Internet Cafe," and there were various game posters on the door. It looked like an ordinary internet cafe.
"Are you sure that paparazzi is in here?" Hu Meiniang asked, panting heavily. She was still in shock and her face was deathly pale.
"There's no mistake! I can smell his scent!" Zhu Feifei said confidently. "I'll never forget this scent for the rest of my life!"
“Okay, let’s go in and take a look.” Linda also came to her senses. She straightened her clothes and hair, and then walked into the internet cafe with Hu Meiniang.
The three entered the internet cafe, where they found it filled with smoke, bustling with noise, and filled with the sounds of keyboards and mice, as well as various game sound effects.
"This...this place is too chaotic!" Hu Meiniang said, frowning. She rarely came to places like this and was not used to the environment.
"It's easier to hide when there are many people!" Zhu Feifei said. "Let's split up and search. We must find that paparazzi!"
The three began searching the internet cafe. Zhu Feifei, with his keen "pig nose," quickly locked onto a target.
"Found it! It's over there!" Zhu Feifei said, pointing to a corner.
Hu Meiniang and Linda looked in the direction he pointed and saw a familiar figure sitting in front of the computer, his fingers flying across the keyboard. It was Wang Dapao!
"Wang Dapao! You stop right there!" Linda shouted and charged towards Wang Dapao.
Wang Dapao was startled when he heard Linda's voice. He quickly got up and tried to run away, but Zhu Feifei had already blocked his way.
"Hehe, Wang Dapao, you can't escape now!" Zhu Feifei laughed triumphantly.
"How...how did you find this place?" Wang Dapao looked at Zhu Feifei in front of him, and then at his pig-headed, human-bodied appearance. His eyes were filled with fear. He stammered and asked, trying to find an escape route.
"Hmph, the stench you emanate can be smelled from ten miles away!" Zhu Feifei said, pinching her nose. "I advise you to obediently hand over the photos to avoid suffering physical pain!"
"Smell? I...I don't smell anything!" Wang Dapao said, while secretly reaching into his pocket, as if trying to take something out.
"Still trying to argue!" Zhu Feifei said, preparing to step forward and subdue Wang Dapao.
Just then, Wang Dapao suddenly pulled out a spray bottle from his pocket and sprayed it all over Zhu Feifei's face.
"What...is this...?" Zhu Feifei was caught off guard and was sprayed in the face with the spray. She immediately felt dizzy and her vision began to blur.
"Haha, this is my specially made sleeping spray. You'd better just take a nap!" Wang Dapao laughed smugly, then turned and ran away.
"Don't...don't run..." Zhu Feifei wanted to chase after him, but he felt his body getting heavier and heavier, and his eyelids getting heavier and heavier. Finally, he collapsed to the ground and fainted.
"Zhu Feifei!" Hu Meiniang and Linda exclaimed in surprise and rushed forward to check on him.
"Damn it, he got away!" Linda said angrily. "Let's call the police right now!"
Hu Meiniang looked at the unconscious Zhu Feifei, her heart filled with worry. She didn't know if Wang Dapao's spray was poisonous, nor did she know if Zhu Feifei was in danger.
"Little White, Little White! Come out and see! What's wrong with him?" Hu Meiniang called out to the spirit Little White in her heart.
"He's fine, just drugged. He'll be alright after a good night's sleep," the Ringwraith's voice echoed in her mind. "But you, you'd better think of a way to handle this situation! That paparazzi has your photos!"
Hu Meiniang was relieved to hear Xiaobai's words. Looking at Zhu Feifei before her, a complex mix of emotions welled up inside her. This guy, though sometimes unreliable, had still stepped forward to protect her in a crucial moment.
“Let’s take Zhu Feifei back first,” Hu Meiniang said to Linda. “There are too many people around here; it’s not safe.”
Linda nodded, and then together with Hu Meiniang, they laboriously carried the unconscious Zhu Feifei out of the internet cafe.
