Black Myth: The Legend of Tianpeng Seeking Demons
Chapter 102 Confrontation with the Dark Lord
Just as Avril and Juckley's fierce battle against Shadowwing reached its climax, a chilling aura suddenly appeared from the other side of the sky, like a cold front in winter.
In the distance, a colossal frost dragon emerged from the clouds, accompanied by a biting wind. Its entire body was covered in solid frost scales, and each flap of its wings stirred up gusts of bone-chilling cold.
On the back of the frost dragon, Adrian's figure gradually became clear. He was clad in ice-blue armor, his entire being blending into the dragon's chilling aura, like a war god descended from the depths of extreme cold.
He gripped the frost spear tightly with both hands, his sharp gaze fixed on the other dragons wreaking havoc on the battlefield.
"Avril, Juckley, I'm here!" Adrian's voice, like thunder in the dead of winter, traveled through the storm to their ears.
Avril turned around and saw Adrian's arrival, a surge of excitement rising within her. She understood that Adrian's target was not Shadowwing, but the other dragons controlled by evil forces.
They were originally creatures that protected this land, but now, driven by dark forces, they have become a huge threat to the town.
Adrian patted the frost dragon's neck, and the frost dragon roared to the sky, its voice like a furious howl in the cold wind, before charging into the battlefield.
Its appearance immediately attracted the attention of the controlled dragons, and several of them shifted their attack and pounced on Adrian.
“These dragons were once our allies,” Adrian said in a low voice, with a hint of pity in his tone, “but now, all that remains of them is savagery and hatred.”
He wielded his frost spear, its tip gleaming with a cold, icy light, and launched a swift counterattack.
A fire dragon that lunged at him was struck by the tail of an ice dragon, instantly encased in ice, its body stiffened, and its movements slowed down.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Adrian quickly rushed towards another thunder dragon. His frost spear flashed through the air, precisely piercing the dragon's wing and instantly freezing its ability to fly.
Adrian's tactics were very clear: he did not attempt to defeat the dragons completely, but rather used the frost dragons' icy power to restrict their movements, thereby diverting their threat to the town and buying Avril and Juklee more time to fight Shadowwing.
"Adrian, you have to hurry! We can't keep Shadowwing under control for long!" Avril warned Adrian while directing Ignis to continue engaging Shadowwing.
She knew that as the battle continued, Shadowwing would eventually break free of its seal and regain its peak power.
“I understand!” Adrian replied calmly. He wasted no time, quickly dealing with the controlled dragons. Each of his attacks was swift and precise, not aiming to kill, but simply to prevent them from continuing to participate in the battle.
In an instant, the focus of the battlefield shifted from Shadowwing to the other dragons.
The appearance of Adrian and the Frost Dragon greatly distracted the enemy and relieved the pressure on the town's defenders.
His actions brought about a new change in the battle, making this originally hopeless fight more possible.
However, Adrian knew very well that these dragons were merely tools to be manipulated, and the real threat remained the enormous black shadow in the sky—Shadowwing.
Although the situation has eased slightly, they must end this chaotic battle as soon as possible, otherwise all their efforts will be in vain once Shadowwing regains its strength.
Amidst the interplay of icy winds and blazing flames, the battle in the sky became even more complex and intense.
With Adrian joining the fray, the balance of power in the battle is slowly shifting, but the outcome remains uncertain.
While Adrian was battling the controlled dragons with the Frost Dragons, the battle on the ground was also intensifying.
Juklee had already sensed a dangerous presence approaching—it was Augustus, the Dark Lord of Shadowwing, and the mastermind behind this disaster.
Augustus emerged from the shadows, his robes billowing in the wind as if he were one with the darkness.
His face was pale and cold, his eyes gleaming with an evil light, and he held a dark staff in his hand, which was wrapped with twisted black runes, each rune whispering ominous incantations.
He stood there, like the king of the night, and every trace of coldness in the air seemed to emanate from his figure.
“Juclesh, you are but a mortal, why do you oppose me?” Augustus’s voice was low and mocking. His gaze was like a knife, fixed on Juclesh, as if waiting to see him collapse in fear.
But Jukli did not back down. He gripped the nine-bead bracelet tightly, the beads emitting a faint light in his hands, dispelling the surrounding darkness.
His face showed no fear, but rather an even stronger resolve. "Augustus, your evil will not succeed. Today is your end."
Augustus sneered, then waved his staff, and a jet-black magical energy struck Jukele like lightning.
Juklee reacted quickly, and the nine-bead bracelet suddenly burst forth with a strong golden light, blocking the dark magic.
The two forces collided fiercely in the air, producing a piercing roar. The clash between darkness and light became particularly awe-inspiring at this moment.
"Do you think your faint light can withstand my darkness?" Augustus's sneer intensified. He then waved his staff again, and the ground began to tremble. Countless shadows emerged from the ground, transforming into black snake-like shadow forces that quickly coiled around Jukli.
Jukeli frowned, knowing he had to give it his all. Suddenly, the nine-bead bracelet began to spin in his hand, the light on the beads growing ever brighter, as if igniting the entire night sky.
He silently chanted an ancient incantation, and the magical artifact in his hand merged with his spiritual power to form an indestructible defensive barrier, keeping the shadowy black snakes outside.
"I don't need to defeat you, I just need to hold out long enough," Juklee thought to himself. His mission was not only to contend with Augustus, but more importantly, to buy time and create an opportunity for Avril's final battle.
However, Augustus clearly did not intend to give him much breathing room.
His dark power was inexhaustible, and the shadows on the ground gradually gathered, forming a huge dark vortex that pressed madly towards Juklee.
Cold sweat beaded on Jukli's forehead, and he gradually felt immense pressure, but his gaze remained unwavering.
He knew that as long as he could withstand Augustus's attacks, Avril would have a chance to end it all.
