Chapter 2 Personality Flaws

The world seemed to suddenly become quiet.

Only five words echoed in Yin Quan's ears: Prince Duan, Xiahou Ying.

It turns out to be that cursed lone star who lost seven wives in a row!

She has to escape! She must, immediately, right now!

Just as Yin Quan clenched her fists and made up her mind, Xiahou Ying, who had been facing away from her, slowly turned around. The moonlight shone on him, making his snow-white robe reflect a translucent, lustrous sheen, as if it were sparkling like glass beads.

His face was handsome, his lips were slightly pursed, his thin lips were as red as blood, and there was a hint of indifference between his brows.

Seeing Yin Quan's slightly parted, dazed expression, Xiahou Ying frowned slightly.

Suddenly, a soft "click" sound came from the quiet room.

"You have a nosebleed."

After a brief silence, a calm and indifferent voice rang out.

Yin Quan rubbed his fingers hard under his nose, staring at the blood on his fingers, and desperately wiped his hands on his clothes.

She had a nosebleed!

Xiahou Ying's gaze lingered on the quilt stained with Yin Quan's nosebleed. He frowned slightly as he watched the deep red circle that continued to spread outwards. His slender fingers twitched slightly, and two wisps of pale yellow energy, barely perceptible to the naked eye, shot out from his fingertips. With a muffled tearing sound, the quilt that Yin Quan had been holding instantly turned into a flurry of cotton and scraps of cloth that fluttered down like snowflakes.

"The quilts in this room are stained; change them."

Before she could recover from her amazement, Xiahou Ying's indifferent voice drifted over.

Upon hearing this, Yin Quan's face immediately darkened.

Pretentious! Show-off!

It's just a little nosebleed! It's not like it's menstrual blood... Is it really necessary to ruin such a nice bed?

She never imagined that Prince Duan, Xiahou Ying, such a stunningly beautiful woman, would be so aloof and pretentious, to the point of bringing ruin to the country.

So, do all wealthy beauties have some personality flaws after all...?

"Wei Jun, have Long Jue take her to wash up."

Just as he was thinking this, Xiahou Ying's clear voice drifted over again, this time no longer indifferent and calm, but with undisguised disgust.

Staring at him, Yin Quan was trying her best to control the anger in her chest.

She had a premonition that living with such a pretentious, germaphobic, and obsessive beauty would drive her crazy in no time. She was even more certain that her seven wives who had died before her must have been driven to their deaths by Xiahou Ying's personality, which was worse than dog shit.

She must escape from this twisted hellhole!

Just then, a figure shrouded in black appeared at the doorway.

If it weren't for the moonlight, Yin Quan would never have noticed the figure that had silently arrived in front of her room.

She stared at the figure shrouded in a black mist-like robe, and after a long while, she realized that Long Jue was actually a woman.

Stepping onto the corridor paved with gray tiles, Yin Quan looked up at the two figures, one in white and one in black, in front of her, and felt a surge of frustration.

This scene looks familiar: two ghosts, one black and one white, are leading lost souls back to the underworld.

Biting her lip, she finally could no longer bear the eerie and irritating silence.

"Your name is Wei Jun?" Yin Quan rolled her eyes and moved closer to Wei Jun, who was dressed in white.

"It is indeed your subordinate." Wei Jun tilted his head slightly and nodded.

"How long have you been serving your master?"

"ten years."

"Did your master really have seven wives who died?" Her eyes widened slightly, and she quickly took a few steps to block his way, looking like she was possessed by a gossip spirit.

"To be precise, that's not the case." After thinking for a moment with his arms crossed, Wei Jun replied.

"What does your master like? What does he dislike?" After hearing the white-clad guard's ambiguous answer, Yin Quan rolled her eyes and changed the subject.

"My master likes cleanliness."

Upon hearing this, Yin Quan pouted.

That's a really direct answer...

Turning her gaze to Long Jue in black, who had remained silent throughout, Yin Quan pursed her lips, about to speak, but was stopped by Wei Jun.

"She can't speak."

Upon hearing this, Yin Quan tilted her head to look at Long Jue, who was dressed in black, then grinned at her and said, "Your name is Long Jue, so how about I call you A-Jue?"

The woman in black remained silent, continuing to walk forward like a wisp of black smoke. Her feet, clad in black cloth boots, trod on the gray stone slabs of the corridor without making a sound, as quiet as if she did not exist in this world.

"Your hair is so beautiful, long and straight, not dry or split. How do you take care of it?" Quickly catching up with the woman in black, Yin Quan's dark eyes shone like bright cat's-eye stones in the moonlight.

"A-Jue, how did you meet that germaphobic pretty boy?"

Despite knowing that the woman in black couldn't speak, the top lawyer Yin Quan, unwilling to remain silent, was not about to stay quiet.

She knew very well that it was easy for women to form a united front, and that even the most loyal master-servant relationship could be broken down if the right entry point was found.

As if in response to her words, Long Jue, who had been focused on moving forward, suddenly stopped and turned to look at her. His exposed half of his face showed surprise, confusion, and a little bit of disbelief.

Just then, a gentle breeze swept by, slightly lifting the black hair that Long Jue used to cover the other half of her face, revealing a hideous face with hollow eye sockets that looked like they had been corroded by sulfuric acid. This immediately caused the black-clad woman, who had been expressionless, to show a hint of panic and fear.

He abruptly raised his hand to smooth his black hair, which had been blown about by the wind. Long Jue turned his back, his body seemingly trembling slightly.

Reaching out and patting her shoulder, Yin Quan grinned: "Have you ever thought about wearing a mask or something? It's safer than using your hair to cover yourself, right?"

Upon hearing her suggestion, Long Jue, who had been somewhat flustered, became even more flustered, his undisguised confusion evident on the half of his face that had not been disfigured.

She stared at her, her lips slightly parted, as if desperately trying to speak, but unfortunately, she had long since lost the ability to speak.

"You want to ask why I'm not afraid of you?" Looking directly at Long Jue, Yin Quan spoke for her, and the latter nodded, her expression becoming noticeably richer.

"Your face is much better looking than a car crash scene!" Yin Quan shrugged, her tone somewhat dismissive.

Although he didn't know what she meant by "car accident scene," Long Jue was very clear that although the woman in front of him was a bit strange and talkative, she was the only person besides Prince Duan, Xiahou Ying, who wasn't frightened by his half-ghost face when they first met.

She pursed her lips and returned to normal. Although her face was still expressionless, Yin Quan felt that the woman in black seemed to be in a better mood than when they first met.

The three walked for a long time, passing through countless archways, until Yin Quan finally saw an extremely spacious courtyard after passing through many corridors.

"Long Jue, you can escort the princess inside." Standing on the corridor, Wei Jun gave a brief instruction before turning and leaving.

Glancing at Wei Jun's white back, Yin Quan looked away and gazed into the depths of the courtyard. What she saw there immediately startled her.

In the center of the courtyard stood a gleaming house, occupying two-thirds of the courtyard's area. The architectural style of this house was different from all the others she had seen along the way, especially the three large, vigorous characters "Jade Dragon Pool" inlaid under the eaves, made of emerald green glazed stone, which made her particularly gratified.

So the script used here is the same as the script used in her time...?

Gazing at the dazzling and beautiful glass stone under the moonlight, Yin Quan was so moved that she almost burst into tears.

Long Jue, puzzled, glanced at her with a strange expression, and his dark eyes, which had just shown a slight glimmer of light, dimmed again.

I had thought she would be different from the previous seven women, but it seems I was overthinking it.

He led her through the ostentatious and luxurious house for quite a while before they finally arrived at a room made entirely of solid wood. He opened the door, gestured for her to enter, and then walked away.

Peeking out the door at the aloof black-clad figure, Yin Quan frowned. Was it her imagination? Why did the girl in black seem so cold all of a sudden…

She averted her gaze and glanced at the carved wooden basin in the room, then crossed her arms and pouted.

luxury!

Such a luxurious bathing place!

While the rich wine and meat smell, the road with frozen bone!

Those who act arrogantly will be struck by lightning!

Looking at the solid wood grain on the carved wooden basin and the steaming hot water filled with rose petals, Yin Quan swallowed hard, turned around abruptly, clung to the equally carved solid wood door, and bit her lip hard.

That's top-quality, century-old redwood...

The incense burning in the burner must be ambergris...

Being rich and powerful is really impressive...

Damn you, Xiahou Ying! You actually tried to corrupt me with those capitalist ideas!

Her fingers traced the carved solid wood door again and again. Yin Quan stared at the complete set of solid wood furniture in the room, her eyes sometimes shining and sometimes hanging her head in dejection. Finally, she turned her head, stomped her foot, and rushed out.

This place is so big, I hope it's not all used for bathing...

Thinking of this, she rolled her eyes.

Xiahou Ying's obsessive-compulsive disorder about cleanliness would not surprise her at all if he spent all day soaking in a pool of water!

Walking on the ground paved with dazzling colored glazed stones, Yin Quan pondered as she went, but she didn't see a single living person for a long time. After turning a corner, the road ahead suddenly opened up.

Staring wide-open at the pool in front of her, which was large enough to hold a hundred of her, Yin Quan seemed to hear the sound of her jaw dropping to the ground.
