When Henry and Lee arrived in Strawberry Town, they happened to see a fat man in a well-tailored suit giving a passionate speech in front of an upscale hotel.

Unfortunately, the townspeople didn't take his words seriously. Only a few idle people listened, while the rest were busy with their own work and no one wanted to listen to his empty talk.

Henry approached and listened for a while, and found that he kept talking about how people should be friendly, and then about how he wanted to lead the townspeople to create a crime-free tourist town.

Clearly, the townspeople had heard these words countless times, and their mayor was always all talk and no action. This fueled their resentment, leading them to frequently discuss his inaction and spread rumors about him behind his back. Some even went so far as to say he had married another man, a claim that was quite close to the truth.

Before long, even the two remaining idlers had left, leaving only Henry and Li Yi, dressed like travelers. Seeing this, the fat man helplessly put away his speech, composed himself, and warmly greeted Henry and Li Yi, welcoming Henry's arrival and reminding him to be friendly.

Henry, too lazy to waste time with pleasantries, cut straight to the point: "You're Nickles Timps, the mayor of Strawberry Town?"

"Yes, sir. Do you know me? Do you need something?"

Henry then explained his relationship with his sister, Mrs. Belinda (see Chapter 54), and expressed his willingness to invest.

When Mayor Nichols heard that Henry had studied at Princeton University and knew his family, he looked a little awkward. However, when he learned that Henry was there to invest, he became much more enthusiastic. He even invited Henry to sit down in the hotel behind him for a detailed discussion and had his old friend, the hotel owner, help him check in.

Since becoming mayor, he hasn't brought about many changes to the town, and the townspeople have begun to feel dissatisfied with him. They are questioning the various benefits he promised when he was elected mayor. He now urgently needs to produce some results to solidify his position.

After entrusting Feixue and Chiyan to the hotel staff for assistance, Henry and Li Yi entered the hotel, which was touted as the most luxurious in the entire town.

Because of Mrs. Belinda's connections, Henry's status and wealth in Blackwater, and Mayor Nickles's awkward situation, the two sides quickly reached an agreement and agreed to cooperate.

However, the area Henry requested to purchase was quite large and involved mineral resource rights, so Mayor Nickless couldn't make the decision on his own and needed to go back and discuss it with representatives from all parties and councilors.

Henry, on the other hand, needs to wait for a professional legal team to provide him with legal assistance to prevent others from becoming envious of his excessive gains and taking advantage of legal loopholes to steal his profits.

Therefore, before going up the snow mountain, Henry had already used his network of contacts in Princeton to hire the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell to set up an office in Blackwater and take full responsibility for the legal issues of Henry's business.

This law firm was no ordinary firm; it was one of the world's top ten law firms, founded in 1879, and possessed extensive experience and expertise in many industries and fields, including mining and energy, and financial services. With such a professional team providing legal support, Henry could confidently pursue his career without worrying about being sabotaged.

Of course, the Sullivan & Cromwell law firm at that time was still in its early stages and had not developed into the powerful firm it would become in later years. It also did not have as many talented people as it would have later. It could only be said to have a small reputation.

Henry paid a $1 deposit and an annual legal consultation fee of no less than $2 to invite them to settle in Blackwater and become his private legal advisors.

The person accompanying Flying Eagle on this trip was Robert S. Sullivan, one of the founders of their firm.

After Mayor Nichols left, Henry went to his room on the second floor of the hotel. Standing at the window, he could see, in the corner, a familiar red figure idly leaning against the windowsill in the police station's cells next door, occasionally letting out a few curses. However, the distance was a bit far, and Henry couldn't hear the curses clearly.

Henry took out a bottle containing Downs' saliva and blood, poured out some of the red wine from several bottles, carefully mixed in the blood, shook it until there was no visible abnormality, and then carefully sealed the bottle.

After getting ready, Henry changed back into his aristocratic attire and, carrying a generous gift for Micah, went to the police station next to the hotel.

"Hey gentlemen, is there anything I can help you with?"

Perhaps because Henry's demeanor and attire were quite outstanding, the police officer's tone was relatively polite.

Henry glanced around and nodded. "Officer, I heard there was a serious violent incident here recently. Could you tell me about it?"

"You're also here to inquire about this? I'm sorry, sir, I can't... Yes, sir, a couple of days ago, some people were drinking on the main road, and then somehow a brawl broke out. As a result, the idiots locked up downstairs pulled out guns and killed two people. The other Irishman was closer to the side, so he fled when we came over."

Originally, our sheriff intended to hang him today, but two other people came shortly before, and after speaking with the sheriff, they abandoned their plan to execute him today.

The officers initially didn't intend to tell Henry this; they had rules against revealing information about the prison. However, faced with the $5 Henry offered, they quickly changed their minds and even shared some unexpected news with him.

"You mean two other people also came to inquire about this matter? Could you describe them in more detail?"

Henry handed the officer another $5, and the officer glanced around to make sure no one else was watching before quickly taking the money and whispering:

“They were all wearing red vests and gray suits, with badges pinned to their chests. I overheard a bit of their conversation with the sheriff; they identified themselves as members of the Pinkerton Detective Agency.”

"Oh, have they been in contact with anyone in the cell? Do you know what he talked about with your sheriff?"

"As far as I know, they didn't contact the people in the cells. They just went down to take a look and left. As for what they talked about with the sheriff, I don't know. They just chatted in the sheriff's office for a while and then left."

"Very good, thank you for the information. Could you please take these two bottles of wine to that murderous idiot and give him some to drink? Let him have something good to eat before he dies."

Henry handed the young officer a specially made Downs gift bag of red wine and $5, indicating that he should help him out again. Henry did not intend to let Micah out so soon, at least not until he finished his business. It would be better to let him continue to suffer inside, so as not to cause trouble when he came out.

Seeing Henry's generosity, the officer readily accepted the money and took the liquor to Micah. Although today's operation was a bit against the rules, Henry's generous payment made up for it. In just a short time, he had earned almost half a month's salary, enough to buy a small gift for his new girlfriend.
