"Knock-"

Jiang Shiyuan carefully knocked on the door.

A moment later, a pair of hands suddenly appeared from the wall beside them, grabbed Jiang Shiyuan and Molly, and led them into the boiler room.

"You're back." Zhang Xiaoxiao immediately linked their mental energy together.

A cacophony of sounds flooded his mind. Looking at the boiler room, which housed over thirty people, Jiang Shiyuan asked somewhat bewilderedly in the mental link, "So many people?"

“When you went upstairs, Azi directed us to gather the survivors from the second floor. With the sisters from the fourth floor, there are this many people.” Zhang Xiaoxiao pointed to the round-faced girl.

“It’s probably past seven o’clock now, more than an hour since we usually blow the whistle. The instructors haven’t come to rescue us yet. Something’s not right.” Azi sat in the corner of the boiler room looking out the window, but all she could see was emptiness.

As soon as the round-faced girl opened her mouth, the other female soldiers in the mental link stopped speaking and listened quietly to her.

Jiang Shiyuan admired Azi for managing to recruit so many female soldiers in such a short time.

Azi continued, "We don't know what's going on outside. The only thing we know is that we can only leave the dormitory by killing that mysterious person."

"It must be killed! It killed so many of us!"

"Kill it, then charge out!"

Immediately, many voices responded within the mental link.

“This mysterious creature is ‘Chuan’ Jing. Although it has no head, it is exceptionally sensitive to sound and can determine direction by sound. In that case, let’s call it the ‘Sound Hunter’.”

Azi pondered for a moment, then continued, "When the [Sound Hunter] was killing people on the third floor, I discovered that sound not only helps it determine direction, but also increases its attack power and speed."

"When the screams start, the [Sound Hunter]'s speed increases significantly to kill the source of the sound, but when the sound disappears, the [Sound Hunter] loses its direction, becomes sluggish, and loses its ability to attack."

"The Sound Hunter drags its large sword around the dormitory building. I suspect it uses the sound of the sword scraping against the ground to enhance itself. If we can make good use of this, we might be able to kill it if we all work together."

Molly nodded in agreement. She had long harbored a deep grudge against the headless man, and immediately stepped forward. "Molly, Forbidden Ruins Sequence 076, [Myriad Phenomena in Motion], I can lead the charge."

Jiang Shiyuan quickly added, "I can too. My Divine Ruins [Winter Has Arrived] has control abilities and isn't very loud. I'll assist you then."

"I can too!"

"I'm coming too!"

The female soldiers enthusiastically signed up.

"Everyone, come one by one and tell us your forbidden ruins. We'll put them together and assign suitable locations," Azi said methodically.

……

"Sizzle sizzle—"

The headless man wandered down the corridor when a sudden, soft footstep made him stop in his tracks as he carefully sensed the surroundings.

Crash--

Suddenly, the sound of rushing water rang out, and the headless man suddenly sprang into action, only to find himself deeply submerged in the water.

Immediately afterward, Jiang Shiyuan used another control technique to restrain the headless man. The girl next to Jiang Shiyuan moved her hands, and a silver light shot towards the large sword in the headless man's hand. The large sword suddenly defied gravity and floated upward. Then, with a slight 'plop', the large sword in the headless man's hand fell into the water and disappeared without a trace before the headless man thawed.

Even though Jiang Shiyuan's [Goddess of the Luo River] skill disappeared, the headless man's movements remained sluggish.

Molly knelt on one knee, her fingers touching the ground, and instantly, the corridor beneath the headless man's feet began to shake.

"Bang—bang—bang—"

The Sound Hunter plummeted straight down through the crack in the floor, and as it fell, it was met with a barrage of attacks.

The female soldiers' hearts were in their throats, but just then, the space twisted and trembled, their vision blurred, and the space around them began to become chaotic.

The headless man smashed through layers of floorboards and disappeared somewhere unknown.

Upon hearing the loud noise, the dozen or so female soldiers left behind in the boiler room nervously closed their eyes, sweating profusely. However, when they opened their eyes, they were met with another group of bewildered eyes.

Jiang Shiyuan and the others were standing at the door of the boiler room, but the door had disappeared at some point, and the people in the corridor were staring at the female soldiers inside the boiler room.

"???"

"????"

"?????"

The screen full of question marks clearly shows the bewildered state of the female soldiers.

Jiang Shiyuan ran to the middle of the corridor immediately, but the ground in the middle of the corridor was completely undamaged. There was a small pit on the west side of the first floor, but there was no trace of the headless man in it. She didn't know where the headless man had gone.

Zhang Xiaoxiao used a mental link to bring everyone into the boiler room, and the sound within the mental link exploded.

"Why are you back?"

"Yeah! How did we get back?"

"Is the [Sound Hunter] dead?"

"Yeah! Is the [Sound Hunter] dead?"

The female soldiers turned into broken record machines, asking questions in a jumbled mess.

"Stop!" Molly couldn't take it anymore and shouted telepathically. "Let's calm down!"

"The Sound Hunter is definitely not dead." Jiang Shiyuan rested his chin on his hand, somewhat helplessly. "It made such a big noise when it crashed down, its defensive capabilities have greatly increased. It can't be killed by falling from just four stories."

"We were just about to kill the [Sound Hunter] when we inexplicably returned. There are still enemies lurking in the shadows, and they clearly know our movements!" Azi bit her lower lip, somewhat annoyed.

"We must find out why we were teleported back!" Molly frowned.

“I don’t think we were teleported back,” Jiang Shiyuan interjected with difficulty, “but rather that the space we’re in has changed.”

Azi looked at Jiang Shiyuan, "Did you discover anything?"

“We were fighting on the left side of the fourth floor corridor when we were suddenly teleported back to the boiler room. The boiler room is located on the right side of the first floor corridor, but look at the dormitory number across the hall.” Jiang Shiyuan pointed to the dormitory door number across from the boiler room.

"401?" Azi's eyes widened. "How is that possible? The room number for this dormitory was originally 109!"

"Clearly, something has swapped the two spaces, which is why we instantly returned to the first floor from the fourth floor, and the original 109 should now be in position 401."

Jiang Shiyuan was still pointing at the door sign that read 401 when suddenly the door to 401 opened, startling all the female soldiers.

"Huh? Why are there so many people in the boiler room? Today is so strange. First, I had a dream about being tied up by a spider, and now I'm having this weird dream." The female soldier who came out of the room was a little creeped out when she saw so many people staring at her. She slapped her forehead, thinking she was still half asleep.

With a crisp, loud 'smack,' she quickly realized her forehead hurt. Unconvinced, she slapped it again, exclaiming, 'I'm not dreaming!'
