Chapter 84: My Prince (13)

"Damn it!" Song Zhishu gritted her teeth. She glared at Edel, who was still clueless, and knew she had no choice but to fend for herself.

She didn't know how much time had passed before she finally escaped from there.

"We should have them smash this thing bigger another day, it's really useless." She kicked it disdainfully: "Come on, let's go to the market."

Just as Song Zhishu had expected, the market in this prosperous Tang Dynasty was certainly huge. The various cries of vendors were almost deafening. Song Zhishu, making her first appearance, seemed quite excited. She looked around with an air of nausea, her once pristine white dress now filthy. So, apart from her face, she looked like a country bumpkin. "Your Highness..." Edel, enduring unwanted stares beside her, lowered his voice, speaking with suppressed emotion, "Could you... perhaps pause for a moment to observe your status and etiquette?"

But Song Zhishu didn't listen to him at all. It was her first time out, and the tension in her mind had finally eased. She was overwhelmed with joy.

Edel sighed and could only follow Song Zhishu closely. What a joke! Although he was just a guard, he had prestige in the palace. If he lost the princess while accompanying her on a trip, even a perfectionist like him couldn't stand it.

"Tsk tsk tsk... My God, where did this filthy, crazy woman come from? For God's sake, I didn't let my shoe land on her back." The surrounding people murmured amongst themselves. Suddenly, some lowlife shouted, their voice filled with mockery and disdain. Who knows?

Does he genuinely feel that this woman has tainted the street, or the country, or is it simply a burning jealousy? After all, people often say one thing and mean another, which is disgusting.

Normally, Eder wouldn't have cared, and might even have found it amusing, because back then it wasn't him who was losing face, but the royal family. But now? This woman came out with him, and in his eyes, criticizing Song Zhishu at this moment was a sign of dissatisfaction with him.

Thinking of this, his eyes, which seemed to be filled with mist in the sunlight, narrowed. He clenched his fist, his muscles poised to be unleashed, and his slightly hunched body resembled a wolf, a wild and captivating wolf.

Edel turned his head slightly, his curly golden hair gleaming with a dazzling luster. Although his gaze was indifferent, it inexplicably sent a chill down the other man's spine.

"What...what are you going to do?" The man's fleshy body trembled, but seeing the crowd around him, he hardened his voice and said righteously, "God is watching! Do you dare to lay a hand on me in front of His holiness?"

“Don’t let me hear your stupid superstitions.” Edel’s cold voice sent chills down one’s spine: “I have absolutely no interest in your so-called God. I’m just telling you.” He turned around, his tall figure blocking the sun in front of the man. He had an arrogant air of looking down on the world, yet also an elegant indifference to worldly affairs: “If you show even the slightest disrespect to that girl, I’ll send you to meet God.”

After a moment of silence, the entire room erupted in uproar.

"How dare you disrespect God!"
