Traveling through an ancient military camp: Bao'er's survival song

Chapter 30 Two Paths Caused by a Single Steamed Bun

Peng Zizheng and his party of twenty-three rode into the capital.

Li Bao'er, who followed along, couldn't help but sigh: It's a good thing it's late autumn, otherwise if I rode my horse in the sun with this iron mask on, my skin would be burned off by the rapidly conducting heat of the metal.

This iron mask, identical to the one worn by Yang Guo, was personally overseen by Peng Zizheng so as not to affect the goodwill he held towards the soldier who "understood" him. Although the soldier later reverted to his dull and clumsy self in front of him, Peng Zizheng believed that this person's mindset was on the same wavelength as his own.

However, Li Bao'er, who was standing in front of Zheng Xi, was anything but dull. Her little mouth was full of compliments, making Zheng Xi sigh several times that although his disciple was utterly useless in martial arts, she was incredibly likable. Moreover, his little disciple was quick and accurate at recognizing characters, which showed her intelligence. This made Zheng Xi seriously consider finding a proper tutor for his little disciple.

After more than forty days of trekking, the group of twenty-three people had arrived at a small town ten miles outside the capital. Peng Zizheng instructed his men to find an inn to wash up and rest for two days before heading to the capital. After all, they had been traveling through wind and rain, and everyone was exhausted and dirty. They certainly couldn't be in this state when they arrived in the capital and were about to meet the emperor.

Li Bao'er went with Zheng Xi to buy two sets of clothes, then returned to the inn and asked the waiter to prepare hot water so she could take a thorough bath. However, while bathing, she discovered something that horrified her: her clitoris was showing its tender tips…

Between development and survival, Li Bao'er chose survival without hesitation. So after taking a bath, drying her hair, and changing her clothes, she hurriedly went out to buy fabric.

As she walked back with a few feet of white cloth tucked under her arm, she suddenly saw a steamed bun shop. The long-lost aroma of steamed buns caught her attention, and she immediately decided to buy a few hot steamed buns to satisfy her craving.

Hot, soft buns were served, and Li Bao'er immediately picked one up with her chopsticks. Before she could put the bun in her mouth, someone tugged at her sleeve. She looked up and saw a chubby little hand gripping her sleeve, and the owner of the little hand was a chubby boy who had somehow ended up sitting at her table.

The little boy was chubby and fair-skinned, with big, black eyes like jewels. His hair was tied in a high ponytail, and he grabbed Li Bao'er's sleeve with one hand, asking in a childish voice, "Sister, do you really want to eat this bun?"

Li Bao'er stopped what she was doing: This child doesn't seem to be from a poor family. Why is he begging for food here?

"Whatever!" Li Bao'er generously held out the steamed bun on her chopsticks to the child and asked, "Do you want some?"

The child shook her head and continued in her childish voice, "Sister, if you eat this bun, you'll lose your cloth. When you meet the general later, you won't have time to buy more cloth, and when you have a fever tomorrow, people will know you're a girl."

Li Bao'er was shocked and blurted out, "What if I don't eat it?"

"If you don't want to eat, you can go straight back to the inn, get dressed again, and wait for your fever to develop."

Li Bao'er: ? ? ?

Lee Bo-ah: !!!

Li Bao'er: How come there are so many lunatics in this world?! How can something as simple as a steamed bun cause so many different interpretations?

But she didn't waste time pursuing the matter; she simply threw down the coin and left.

Regardless of whether this steamed bun is important or not, the most important thing is to stay away from mentally ill people, including mentally ill children!
