Traveling through an ancient military camp: Bao'er's survival song

Jin Ping caught up as well, staring at the two words on the ground with some confusion. Li Bao'er, meanwhile, pushed aside the silent Yin Zhu and followed the aroma into the kitchen.

The clay pot on the stove was bubbling under the gentle heat, with bubbles rising from the boiling water and squeezing out from the lid. Li Bao'er picked up a towel and, using it as a handle, lifted the lid of the pot of soup that smelled of real durian. What came into view was a pot of golden, glistening, and tempting durian chicken soup.

Li Bao'er's hands trembled slightly. She was certain that the person who could make durian stewed chicken soup could not possibly be an ancient native. She closed the lid, turned around, and saw six people standing in a row behind her.

Li Bao'er looked at them one by one. Besides Liu Shu, Jin Ping, Wu Peng'en's daughter Wu Suining, whom she had met once before, the maid who had opened the door for her, there were two unfamiliar women. One was a woman with a strong figure and a face like a silver plate, and the other was a delicate young woman of sixteen or seventeen with a graceful figure and an aura like an actress.

Liu Shu covered his nose and came over to pull Li Bao'er, saying as he pulled, "What's wrong? Bao'er, what happened? Did you inhale too much poison gas? Come on, let's find the imperial physician!"

The burly woman, Aunt Zhou, was displeased and stepped forward to grab the fair-skinned young man. However, the young man pulled Li Bao'er aside and quickly dodged her. So she cursed loudly, "Explain yourself! What poisonous gas? Who said they have poisonous gas? Knowing it's poisonous gas, why are you coming to my house to inhale it? Are you trying to scam me?"

Just as Wu Suining was about to remind Aunt Zhou that the person she was cursing was a prince, Li Bao'er excitedly rushed to Aunt Zhou's side, startling her so much that she almost suspected that the ingredients her master had given her were really poisoned and had driven the child crazy.

Ignoring Aunt Zhou's reaction, Li Bao'er asked rapidly, "Is this your house? Did you do this? Odd changes, even doesn't? Arise, ye who refuse to be slaves!" She then dragged Aunt Zhou toward the gate, saying, "Look! Look at the ground! Tell me you recognize it, right? What is this character?"

Liu Shu hadn't seen Li Bao'er's combined antics before, and at this moment, he saw her as rambling incoherently and acting like a madwoman. Therefore, without asking for Li Bao'er's consent, he picked her up and ran outside, shouting as he ran, "It's alright, Bao'er, it's alright, we have the imperial physician..."

Yinzhu raised an eyebrow at her young mistress and pursed her lips, implying, "See? Wasn't I right?"

Jiao Niang then whispered to Aunt Zhou, "Junior Sister, could this stuff Master gave us really be poisonous? We dare not eat it!"

Aunt Zhou replied quietly, "This was given by Master. If it's poisonous, then Master is the one who wants us to die. I'm asking you, do you dare not die?"

Jiao Niang fell silent, and after a while, she ran back to her room, whimpering and biting her handkerchief.

Wu Suining, however, remained calm. She asked Jin Ping, "Young Master Jin, Guard Li seems very agitated, but what deeper meaning does that pot of soup hold for him?"

Jin Ping quickly bowed to Wu Suining and said, "Hello, Miss Wu. I don't know either. I'm going to catch up with my master now."

But before Jinping could step out of the gate, Li Baobao pulled Liu Shu towards them. Li Baobao seemed to have regained his composure, but his pace was noticeably faster.

As Wu Suining watched Liu Shu being pulled by the wrist and quickly walked this way, her eyes darkened.
