Chapter 197 (Knowledgeable) Perfect Painting 3
"No one will forget the person who said 'Your eyes are my favorite color' when we first met."
Kavi almost burst out laughing when he saw the neat handwriting on the note.
Elheisen glanced at Kavi and noticed that he had covered his face with his hands, his body trembling. Elheisen couldn't help but worry; had he said something wrong again?
Elheisen pondered, his palm hesitantly approaching Kavi, as if wanting to apologize. Before his hand could even reach him, Kavi leaned closer. Elheisen's gaze met Kavi's.
Kavi seemed to have thought of something, so he casually grabbed a pen from beside him and started writing on the paper in his hand.
A short while later, the note was back in Elhesen's hands. The newly added handwriting was rather ornate, making it stand out from the crowd, much like the person beside him.
"It's not nice to say it like this, but your eyes are really beautiful. They're definitely my favorite color."
At the end of the writing was a smiley face that Kavi had casually drawn. Looking at this smiley face, Elhesen could almost imagine that Kavi must have been smiling when he wrote it, which made Elhesen tighten his grip on the pen.
For the rest of the time, Elhesen stopped chatting with Kavi and focused on his studies. Kavi didn't disturb Elhesen either, simply looking at the book in his hands and occasionally taking out his notebook to draw something.
Time flew by, and soon it grew dark.
Al-Hysen closed the book in front of him and then glanced at Kavi, who had fallen asleep on the table at some point. The guy seemed to be sleeping soundly, his face buried in his arms, with only his blond hair scattered around him, glistening slightly in the light.
Al-Hysen tidied up the books in front of him and put the headphones around his neck. He didn't stand up immediately, but looked at Kavi, who was sleeping next to him.
Their seats were very close together, and Alheisen could easily grab Kavi's hair. Kavi looked a bit thin, and when he lay on the table, the smooth lines of his back were visible beneath his shirt.
Elheisen didn't know what he wanted to do either. He simply looked at Kavi with his emerald eyes, seemingly oblivious to the light reflecting off Kavi's hair. Finally, Elheisen reached out to Kavi and gently shook his arm.
Kavi was jolted awake almost instantly. He sat up immediately, his crimson eyes slightly misty, looking around blankly. Then he grasped Elhesen's hand, which he hadn't had time to pull back, and instinctively rubbed his cheek against Elhesen's palm.
This was a habit Kavi had as a child. After waking up outside, he would instinctively approach a familiar person and rub his soft cheek against them. Elheisen, who often napped with Kavi under the big mulberry tree by the stream in his childhood, knew this well. Little Elheisen had even been hugged and had his neck rubbed by little Kavi back then.
So you haven't changed this habit yet?
Elheisen looked at Kavi, who was holding his arms, and thought with a touch of melancholy. The person in front of him was no longer the same as when he was young; his once childish face had grown into a stunningly beautiful one.
While it might be inappropriate to say that a boy should be strikingly handsome, Kavi is undeniably good-looking. His delicate features attract a lot of attention, and his ever-present gentle smile makes him even more adored.
Al-Hysen noticed that people were watching Kavi in the library, and the gasps of surprise that came as he crossed his arms seemed out of place in a library.
Elheisen's gaze remained fixed on Kavi, and when Kavi regained consciousness, he awkwardly released Elheisen's hand. Seeing that Elheisen had finished packing his things, Kavi also lowered his head and began packing his own. However, he didn't have many things, so he just quickly gathered them up and was done.
After tidying up, Kavi stood up and took Elhesen's hand, seemingly realizing that his actions were too intimate. Kavi loosened his grip, but Elhesen grabbed his hand and led him away from the library.
Kavi turned to look at Elhesen and noticed that his earlobe was a little red. Kavi chuckled to himself and followed Elhesen outside.
The sky outside was completely dark, with the streetlights casting a dim yellow glow. Looking up, the pitch-black night was dotted with twinkling stars.
However, the campus is not quiet.
Most couples hadn't returned to their dorms yet, and the sight of young men and women walking hand in hand was undeniably romantic. However, the sight of Elhesen and Kavi walking hand in hand felt slightly awkward.
"Speaking of which, it's been a long time since we last saw each other."
Kavi suddenly spoke, his voice gentle and tinged with nostalgia.
"Hmm," Elhesen replied to Kavi in a muffled voice.
Kavi suddenly sighed, "How come you don't seem to have changed at all? You've grown up, but you're still so quiet. There seem to be some changes though..."
Kavi suddenly stood up straight, reached out and grabbed Elhesen, then gestured with his hands towards the two of them.
"I knew it! You're so much taller than me now."
As he spoke, Kavi reached out and pinched the muscles on Elhesen's arm, exclaiming with envy, "Damn, you're in the library all day, how come you still have muscles?"
Al-Hysen lowered his eyes. "I exercise every day."
Kavi was a little stunned, and then he heard Elhesen's voice again.
"You haven't changed either." Still as outgoing as ever.
Kavi laughed.
Under the dim light, two people who hadn't seen each other in a long time gazed at each other. Kavi saw again the emerald eyes he had longed for all night—eyes as clear as ever. Elhesen also saw his partner, who always approached him with gentleness; that gentleness still drew him closer.
At this moment, the awkwardness of not seeing each other for many years suddenly dissipated, leaving only longing and closeness.
After that, their relationship gradually improved. Kavi would occasionally accompany Elhesen to the library to study. Elhesen would also accompany Kavi to a scenic spot, watching him meticulously depict the landscape with his paintbrush.
Only Emil voiced his dissatisfaction when he saw Kavi spending almost every day with Elhesen.
"Kavi, it's been so long since you've come with me to feed the kittens."
Emil didn't have any particular hobbies, except feeding the animals at the school. Thanks to him, the little guys were all very healthy.
"Didn't I just feed the squirrels with you last time?"
Kavi's answer failed to dispel Emil's doubts, but Kavi could only silently shift his gaze.
Poor Emil lamented from time to time that he had lost his best feeding partner!
