"Run!"

Kim Young-myung, Park Eun-sung, and the others snapped out of their daze, terrified, and scrambled to catch up. They didn't care about anything else—backpacks, supplies, weapons… In the face of death, everything seemed so insignificant.

A group of people rushed into the dark forest like madmen, with the roars of more and more monsters and the sound of chasing footsteps behind them.

They had only one thought in their minds: to survive! As long as they could survive!

The biting wind howled in their ears, and the monster's roar behind them was like a death knell, pounding wildly on everyone's heart.

In the face of extreme fear and running, the team was instantly scattered.

Park Eun-sung, who had previously complained about the cold weather and didn't want to move, was the first to run out of energy. She slipped and fell heavily to the ground.

She turned around in horror, stretched out her hand, and her eyes were filled with desperate pleading.

Kim Young-myung, who was closest to her, instinctively wanted to turn around, but when he saw a two-headed wolf pouncing on Park Eun-seung, he instantly abandoned all thoughts and rushed forward at an even faster speed.

Park Eun-sung's screams were cruelly drowned out by the cracking sound of bones breaking and the sound of the monster's greedy chewing.

The shadow of death terrified Jin Yongming, and he ran wildly, his lungs burning with pain.

However, he had only run less than fifty meters when another monster suddenly sprang out from the shadows to his side, and the huge impact sent him flying!

"Hold on, Alice! Just a little longer!" Karl gritted his teeth, gripping her hand tightly. He knew that if they stopped, they would die.

Just then, a one-headed wolf of exceptionally large size charged from behind them at an unbelievable speed! It leaped like a black cannonball, soaring over Alice and slamming Karl to the ground!

"Brother!" Alice let out a heart-wrenching scream.

"Run! Don't worry about me!" Karl was almost suffocating from the immense force, but he didn't give up. With all his might, he drew his pistol from his waist, aimed it at the monster's head, and pulled the trigger without hesitation!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The deafening gunshots echoed through the silent forest, the bullets striking the monster's head with pinpoint accuracy. However, a heartbreaking scene unfolded.

The bullets merely sparked a few lightly on the monster's hard skull, leaving only shallow white marks, and did not cause any real damage!

"Roar!"

The pain completely enraged the beast. It opened its blood-red maw, ignored the gun in Karl's hand, and bit down on his neck!

"Crack!"

The crisp sound of his neck breaking became the last sound Karl left in this world.

The light in his eyes quickly dimmed, and the gun slipped limply from his hand.

"No! Brother!"

Alice witnessed this incredibly cruel scene, and the whole world seemed to collapse in an instant.

Overwhelmed by grief and fear, she nearly fainted, but the instinct for survival drove her to turn around, take a step with her numb legs, and continue fleeing forward.

Tears blurred her vision; she didn't know where she was going, or how much longer she could run. The monster behind her seemed to be enjoying its prey's dying struggles, following at a leisurely pace, its footsteps like a countdown to death.

Just as Alice felt she was about to be caught and closed her eyes in despair, waiting to die, several blinding lights suddenly shone in the dark forest ahead!

"Target locked! Open fire!"

A calm yet powerful command rang out, followed by a barrage of gunfire a hundred times denser and more ferocious than Karl's previous pistol shots, exploding like a storm!

"Da da da da da!"

The scorching metal bullets instantly wove together into a net of death, precisely covering the hungry wolf that was chasing Alice.

It was a specially modified large-caliber rifle, with long flames spitting from its muzzle, and each bullet carrying terrifying kinetic energy.

Even with its thick hide, the hungry wolf was forced to retreat repeatedly under such intense firepower, its body exploding with sprays of blood.

By the firelight, Alice could see a squad of fully armed soldiers ahead! They were dressed in uniform black combat suits, wearing tactical helmets, and their rifles had a futuristic and menacing design. Each of them exuded an aura of elite and chilling killing intent.

They quickly formed a semi-circular defensive formation, protecting Alice behind them.

"Roar!"

Enraged, the hungry wolves, along with their companions who had rushed in from all sides, launched an even more frenzied charge. Ignoring the hail of bullets and spurting blood from their bodies, they charged forward with incredible ferocity!

"Damn it! These things have such strong defenses! They're practically indestructible."

The captain, seeing that the bullets could only slow down the wolf's advance but not kill him instantly, became extremely grave.

With several hungry wolves already breaking through the fire line and opening their bloody mouths to pounce on the team members at the front, the situation was extremely dangerous!

"Grenade!"

Lin Luo happened to appear, took out a grenade, threw it, and caused it to explode.

"Boom! Boom!"

The deafening explosion was followed by a burst of intense flames that instantly engulfed everything! The powerful shockwave, carrying dirt and debris, sent several hungry wolves flying, leaving them mangled and bloody.

Alice finally snapped out of her shock and struggled to go back and find Karl's body.

Lin Luo didn't pause for a moment, his voice as cold as Martian ice: "Your brother is already dead. Going back to rescue him now is pointless; it will only drag us down with you!"

"What if... what if there's still a chance!" Alice said, her voice trembling with tears, unwilling to give up.

Lin Luo abruptly stopped, his voice icy cold: "This is the biohazard forest of Mars, not your fairytale world! There are no 'what ifs'! If you want to stay here and go crazy, I can leave you here right now!"

The cold, heartless words were like a bucket of cold water, instantly extinguishing all of Alice's fantasies.

Terrified by the palpable killing intent emanating from Lin Luo, she dared not utter another word. Trembling, she was dragged along by him, following this unfamiliar group as they hastily evacuated this land of death.
