Chapter 47 Suppressing Zuo Qianzhi and Taking Over Shacheng (Part 1)

"Who exactly are you?" Zhang Qishan asked calmly, looking at the confident man before him who claimed he would take down Zuo Qianzhi. Leaving aside the fact that Zuo Qianzhi was the garrison commander of Shacheng, commanding a well-equipped force, Zhang Qishan himself wasn't confident he could defeat Zuo Qianzhi. This young man looked three or four years younger than him; what made him so sure he could take down Zuo Qianzhi?

"Does it matter who I am? You just need to remember that I'm not your enemy. We share the same goal, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend. At least when it comes to taking down Zuo Qianzhi, we're on the same side, aren't we?"

Sun Yao waved his hand. Zhang Qishan was not worthy of being regarded as a companion at the moment. Even the future Zhang Dafoye would only be someone Sun Yao could take a liking to, let alone the still green Zhang Qishan.

"I will naturally take care of him, and I hope you will not stop me." After escaping from the Japanese concentration camp at a young age, Zhang Qishan had been plotting revenge. With his current strength, although he could not deal with the Japanese, he could still deal with an accomplice of the Japanese.

This man had helped the Japanese invaders persecute civilians in Northeast China, and he was even largely in charge of human experimentation. It was during the search for test subjects that he murdered Zhang Qishan's father. Zhang Qishan vividly remembered this, and his hatred for Zuo Qianzhi was indescribable. Of the dozen or so people who had left the Zhang family, only he survived. Those who died, besides his father, were all his uncles and brothers; this blood feud could not go unavenged.

Thinking of this, Zhang Qishan's expression darkened further. He ignored Sun Yao and instead proceeded on his own. His destination differed from Sun Yao's; he had infiltrated Zuo Qianzhi's residence to obtain evidence that Zuo was still conducting human experiments. Therefore, after entering Zuo Qianzhi's residence, he stealthily made his way towards the backyard.

In contrast, Sun Yao swaggered around after entering the mansion. Unlike Zhang Qishan, he could use qi to detect the number of people in the mansion, a basic ability of the Silver-Winged Arrow. His investigation revealed no soldiers patrolling the mansion at night, only some signs of life in Zuo Qianzhi's study and the backyard. There seemed to be a connection between the two, as he sensed a person's qi traveling directly from Zuo Qianzhi's study to the backyard without stopping. This suggested that his study must have a direct passage to the laboratory in the backyard.

Sun Yao swaggered toward Zuo Qianzhi's study. Perhaps because he was afraid that his human experimentation would be exposed, there were no soldiers at Zuo Qianzhi's residence at night except for the guards at the gate.

Once he crossed the courtyard wall, he no longer needed to worry about the guards and walked straight towards Zuo Qianzhi's study. The person in that study must be Zuo Qianzhi, and the person who just left the study was likely his deputy or subordinate.

Within two or three minutes, Sun Yao had silently arrived outside Zuo Qianzhi's study. Zuo Qianzhi was processing official documents inside when he heard the unusual silence outside and looked out his window with suspicion. However, the room was brightly lit, and he couldn't see anything from his seat.

He glanced at the light switch beside him and, almost unconsciously, pressed it. The next moment, something astonishing happened: a figure appeared right outside his window. Just as he was about to shout, the figure burst through the window and kicked him. This person was only about 1.6 meters tall, but the force of the kick made Zuo Qianzhi inwardly cry out that he couldn't take it. Yes, this 1.6-meter-tall figure was Sun Yao.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking me?" Zuo Qianzhi forced himself to calm down, slowly stood up from the ground, and looked at Sun Yao next to the desk.

"Who I am is none of your concern. Shouldn't you be worried about your life right now? I just gave you a normal kick, without even putting any force into it."

“We can talk about what you need. After all, I am the garrison commander of Shacheng. If you kill me, Commander Duan will not let you off.” Zuo Qianzhi did not hesitate to bring up Commander Duan to intimidate Sun Yao, hoping to use the power of the Duan family’s governor-general of Huguang.

"I certainly don't want to provoke the Duan family, but who says a nobody like you, a mere garrison commander of Shacheng, can make them turn against me? I'll let you die knowing why. There are two reasons for your death today. First, I wanted to appoint one of my men to the position of garrison commander of Shacheng, and you blocked my way. Second, you served as a Japanese auxiliary force in Northeast China in your younger days. I hate traitors more than anything in my life, and your background undoubtedly leaves you with no way out." After Sun Yao finished speaking, he flashed to Zuo Qianzhi's side and kicked him away again. With this kick, Zuo Qianzhi felt that at least three of his ribs were broken.

Zuo Qianzhi struggled to his feet, a ruthless glint in his eyes as he watched Sun Yao approach step by step. The next second, he pulled a box from his pocket. The box was made of fine steel, which was why it had retained its shape despite Sun Yao's kicks. He opened the box; inside was a syringe. He looked at the syringe in his hand, then at the approaching Sun Yao, and steeled himself, injecting the syringe into his arm.

The next moment, his body began to swell continuously, his muscles growing larger and larger. In almost half an incense stick's time, Zuo Qianzhi's body had swelled to nearly twice its original size. The next moment, an unimaginable monster appeared before Sun Yao. This monster was like the Tyrant from Resident Evil, not only ridiculously ugly, but also with its skin completely cracked. It grew to the height of a two-story building; even the Hulk in his transformed state wasn't as ferocious as him, or rather, even the Abomination in its transformed state wasn't as ferocious.

"Oh ho, you can transform, huh? Well done, you deserve a reward!" After saying that, Sun Yao vanished from his spot. The next second, he appeared in front of Zuo Qianzhi and kicked the now-monster Zuo Qianzhi in the face. Just as he kicked Zuo Qianzhi, lightning crackled from his leg. With the crackling lightning, Sun Yao kicked him into the courtyard.
