Where is this?

In the darkness, a pair of trembling hands groped around, the endless darkness mercilessly devouring his reason. Listening to his increasingly rough breathing, Li Yue trembled all over.

He remembered being scratched by his master's claws because of his poor performance: it seemed that his master didn't want him anymore.

But he's still on the planet the Federation is using for military training, and his former marshal is the chief instructor for this training. If he discovers any secrets, the consequences...

Li Yue couldn't help but shudder: if that man found out, his fate would be ten thousand times worse than being scratched by sharp claws.

In a daze, he heard voices beside him: Who is it? Has he been saved?

Li Yue strained to open his eyes, and the white medical equipment above his head momentarily disoriented him, making it hard to tell if it was a dream or reality.

"Marshal, he's awake."

marshal?!

Li Yue struggled to sit up and looked around.

"You're finally awake." The cold words sent a chill down Li Yue's spine. Looking in the direction of the voice, he saw a pair of eyes devoid of warmth and filled with murderous intent.

The man leaned against the door of the infirmary, his arms crossed, his dark red eyes staring silently at the restless man on the hospital bed.

"Marshal, thank you for saving me. When may I leave?" Faced with Ji Yuan's scrutinizing gaze, Li Yue finally lost his composure.

Looking at the panicked person before him, Ji Yuan curled his lips into a cold smile: "Leave? Towards heaven?"

Ji Yuan strode over to the table in the infirmary, his long fingers casually fiddling with the instruments on it. His voice, tinged with the clanging of the instruments, was chillingly cold: "You have worm eggs in your body. You have betrayed the Federation."

Li Yue suddenly raised his head, looking completely innocent, and said in a terrified tone, "Marshal, I only stole the eggshell of that spirit shark. I don't know why there are insect eggs in my body!"

He wanted to say something more, but then he felt a tingling sensation all over his body.

Facing Li Yue's ferocious expression, Ji Yuan elegantly rotated his wrist, and pale purple lightning crackled and flickered in his hand, gleaming with a deadly brilliance.

"Stop making excuses. Dr. Tang just examined you. The insect eggs in your body weren't recently put in. I think you originally planned to activate those eggs when we were stealing the eggshells, so as to attract the lord-level alien beasts to kill us, right?"

Li Yue endured the torment of lightning on his body, his face contorted with bulging veins, looking ferocious and terrifying: "How could this be, Marshal? I really only stole the eggshells because I was struggling to make a living. I really didn't know there were worm eggs in my body."

Seeing his stubbornness, Ji Yuan became unusually interested. A hint of a smile appeared deep in his dark red eyes, and the purple on his hand became more pronounced. Ignoring Li Yue's painful roars, he spoke slowly and deliberately: "Is that so? You thought we would be hunted down by the Spirit Shark, which would be a good opportunity for you to use the Spirit Shark to eliminate us, and the insect eggs inside your body could also save your life. I didn't expect that we would succeed. So you can only choose to steal the eggshells and prevent my warriors from receiving treatment. Am I right?"

Li Yue's face was flushed with pain. He swallowed hard, his expression somewhat manic: "As expected of the Federation's War God, you guessed right. I originally planned to lure you to the black market and then spread insect eggs to infect you, but someone killed my subordinates, which disrupted my plans."

"And then you plan to continue your disgusting scheme while we're in military training?" Ji Yuan toyed with the butterfly knife in his hand, his tone indifferent.

"Because I failed in my duty, I was punished by my master. Otherwise, you would all be dead! All dead!" Li Yue roared at Ji Yuan, like a trapped beast making its last struggle.

Ji Yuan looked down at Li Yue as if a god were pitying the foolishness of the world: "Don't you understand? You have been abandoned by your master."

Li Yue was stunned for a moment, then became even more frantic: "Impossible, absolutely impossible! The master was hoping I would infiltrate the Federation. He's just punishing me, just punishing me."

Ji Yuan snorted coldly: "It's time to wake up from your dream. You have lost your value. The insect eggs in your body were supposed to be laid by you for someone else, but unfortunately, they have already hatched inside you. Tell me, given the insect race's control over insect eggs, would they make such a basic mistake?"

Li Yue's lips twitched, seemingly unwilling, but he could already feel the changes within his body. The insect eggs were feeding on his internal organs and hatching inside him. The day his heart stopped beating would be the day the insect eggs hatched.

Thinking of something, Li Yue looked up, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Ji Yuan: "Master already knows you're on this planet. If there are heavy casualties in this military training, how do you think those foolish people will judge you?"

Ji Yuan calmly looked at Li Yue, then suddenly stopped, and the butterfly knife pierced Li Yue's shoulder with lightning speed: "No matter what tricks your master uses, I will deal with whatever comes my way. I never doubt my own abilities."

After speaking, Ji Yuan tapped a few times on the quantum computer, and a transparent dome enveloped Li Yue, allowing the insectoids to devour him completely from the inside out. Then, the dome filled with poisonous white mist, killing all the insectoids.
