Chapter 14 The Herrscher of Ice

While you and Paddo were enjoying a pleasant time together, Velvi was working hard to develop the third divine key—the Key of Punishment, 'Seven Thunders of Purification'.

At the age of twenty, at the beginning of the year, the Fire Moth detected a strong fluctuation of Honkai energy.

The Fifth Herrscher—the Herrscher of Ice—has descended, and the place she descended upon is the village where Qian Jie resides.

[Since your squad has the most combat experience, you are appointed as the first combat squad to gather information on the Herrschers and, where possible, eliminate them.]

[Due to his outstanding performance in the battle against the Fourth Herrscher, Kevin has been appointed as the vice-captain.]

He chose to go to the Fifth Herrscher's location alone to fight, in order to reduce the team's casualties.

[But after he crossed the snow-covered streets, he did not see the Herrscher of Ice.]

What comes into view is a huge crater, resembling one struck by a meteorite. The air is thick with cold and the smell of burning, testifying to the great battle that once took place here.

The core of the Herrscher of the Void at the center of the crater tells a story—the Herrscher of Ice has been destroyed.

As everyone processed this fact, they reported the information to their superiors.

[Watching everyone's performance, you know that the Herrscher of Ice had just arrived when she encountered Thousand Calamities, and the newly formed Herrscher, who hadn't even had time to develop, was instantly killed by Thousand Calamities.]

Afterwards, because the village was destroyed, Qianjie began to wander. He eventually wandered to Twilight Street, where he was taken in by Aponia, the owner of the Twilight Street Sanatorium, and became a porter at the sanatorium.

[You chose to stand by, but the Fire Moth doesn't think so. The organization has sent you and Padre, who both come from Twilight Street, to investigate and find the mysterious person who killed the Herrscher. The others will escort the Herrscher's core back to the Fire Moth.]

Your personality means you won't resist over something so trivial, so you agreed and followed the trail to your and Pado's hometown—Twilight Street.

[You know who the mysterious person is, but you don't plan to let Aponia and Thousand Calamities join the Firemoth right now.]

So you went back home to retrieve your belongings that you had stored there.

"Oh my, this place hasn't changed at all after all these years. I really miss it!" Paddo followed Kira Yoshikage into the house, looking at the familiar room with a sigh.

'If it weren't for meeting the boss, we probably wouldn't be living such a comfortable life now.' Memories flooded back, and Pado couldn't help but think of Yoshikage Kira's goodness again.

"Stay here and don't move. I'm going to get something." Kira Yoshikage instructed, looking at Patto with a nostalgic expression behind him, before heading to his room.

"Found it." The arrow fell out when the frame was removed. Feeling the texture in his hand, Yoshikage Kira told himself it wasn't time yet.

I am not awakened yet.

Kira Yoshikage placed the arrow in a pocket close to his body, making sure it wouldn't puncture his clothes, then left the room, called Padre, and departed.

But the mission still needed to be done, so they couldn't go back so early. Thus, Yoshikage Kira and Pado strolled around the twilight streets.

But after driving away the sixth wave of robbers, Yoshikage Kira realized that wandering around the twilight district was undoubtedly an extremely foolish decision.

"Hey! How did you end up here? Boss, let me tell you, there's a nun here who might be giving a lecture!"

Upon hearing the cat's words, Yoshikage Kira looked ahead and found himself standing in front of the Aponia sanatorium.

But Yoshikage Kira didn't want to cause any more trouble, so he quickened his pace and left.

"Hey, boss, wait for me!" Pado saw Kira Yoshikage speeding away and quickly followed.

Inside the sanatorium, Aponia watched Kira Yoshikage leave, a bewildered expression on her face.

'Why can't I see that person's fate?'

......

After a day of wandering around, the two returned to the Moth of Fire.

As you expected, the Fire-Chasing Moths didn't expect you to bring any useful information, so you gave a brief report and left.

Back in his room, after putting the arrow away, Yoshikage Kira straightened his clothes in front of the mirror.

"Boss, we're here to freeload again!"

Hearing the familiar voice, Yoshikage Kira responded:

"coming."
