Traveling through the game world

Chapter 17 New Weapons and the Arrogant Paris

Early the next morning, outside the silver village

Alice looked at the little one beside Lian Yang, his voice sweet and innocent, and said with obvious affection, "I never thought you, this seemingly reserved guy, would have a puppy! It's so cute!" She then picked him up and hugged him, her face filled with sweet bliss. It was hard to believe this was the same Alice who was always wielding guns and cannons.

The level 1 little creature is only the size of a husky, and its little horns on its head look somewhat immature and not very noticeable. In the Arad continent where strange creatures roam everywhere, it seems quite normal to be mistaken for a puppy.

Alice adored the 'puppy' in her arms, but the little one was not happy. It was a Qilin, how could it be described as a dog? "Aww... Aww!" The dissatisfied little one kept squirming in Alice's arms and let out a childish howl.

Sensing the little one's reluctance, Alice coaxed softly, "Oh dear, just let your big sister hug you! You're so cute!" The innocent little one successfully evoked a surge of maternal love in Alice.

Baron and Lian Yang stared intently at the little one snuggling in Alice's arms, their eyes seemingly unwilling to look away for even a moment.

Suddenly, sensing a murderous aura, Lian Yang slapped Baron on the head with a "smack!"

"What are you doing!" Baron, startled by the sudden attack, rubbed his head, annoyed.

"Let's go!" Carrying a level 30 divine greatsword he had acquired by chance yesterday, Lian Yang said in a low voice without turning his head, "That's an advantage of age plus racial talent, something you can't envy for now!"

Unaware of the truth, Baron blushed and explained, "What nonsense are you talking about! I just wanted to see what your new pet is! Definitely not to see Alice's chest." Well, it would have been better if he hadn't explained; once he did, Lian Yang burst into unrestrained laughter.

"Bang!" Alice, who was walking in front, threw a grenade at Baron without turning her head.

"Hahahaha... Uh!" Seeing Baron, whom he had tricked, Lian Yang laughed even more unrestrainedly.

"Bang!" Alice exclaimed, "You can't escape either, you scumbag Yang!" After throwing two grenades, she continued to stroke the little one in her arms: "Oh my little cutie, you're so adorable!" Is this really the same tough woman who would blow people up with grenades at the drop of a hat?

Looking at Lian Yang's face, which was covered in soot, Baron burst into laughter. "Haha, you... you can't take it anymore! I'm dying of laughter!"

"Laugh at your sister!" Lian Yang said, wiping his face haphazardly. "You're not much better than me, just as dark!"

"Pfft!" Alice, who was walking in front, turned around and looked at the two who had transformed into Bao Gong (a famous judge in Chinese history), and couldn't help but chuckle.

As the sun rose, the laughing and joking trio walked further and further away...

At the entrance of the Netherworld Prison

A sinister and terrifying aura swept over them, and the resentment filling the air was almost tangible. Lian Yang frowned and said, "It seems this battle will be very troublesome. The resentment here is so strong; I wonder how powerful the monsters inside must be!"

Wiping the hand cannon, Alice said, "Whatever it is, just blast it to pieces!"

“That’s true!” Shaking his head, Lian Yang took out his weapon. No matter how evil someone is, in the end, problems must be solved through combat.

As soon as Lian Yang drew his sword, Baron's expression changed. He looked at Lian Yang's weapon with surprise and said, "Why does this sword feel so familiar? There's a sense of madness in it."

Lian Yang nodded, twirling his sword and saying, "Level 30 Divine Greatsword, Kazan's Curse!" Baron's left hand was called Kazan Syndrome, and Lian Yang's greatsword was called Kazan's Curse. Both were imbued with the aura of the demonic Kazan. Baron was, of course, very familiar with them.

"What!" Baron stared in astonishment at the majestic and magnificent greatsword in Lian Yang's hand, which was also filled with a violent aura. He trembled and said, "This is the greatsword that bears the curse of Kazan, the curse of Kazan?"

Nodding, Lian Yang said, "Yes! Yesterday, when I went to buy new equipment, a down-on-his-luck swordsman sold it to me. I didn't even realize it was this sword at first." It was luck, really. At level 20, Lian Yang, thanks to the Overlord's Contract, could equip gear up to 10 levels higher than his own. He was actually planning to buy a magic-sealed piece of equipment to make do, but unexpectedly, a down-on-his-luck swordsman was selling a tattered greatsword in a corner. If it weren't for Hope's reminder, Lian Yang might have missed this cursed greatsword of Kazan, steeped in madness and history.

Looking at Kazan's Curse, Baron said, "Be very careful, this sword is said to be very evil." Although Kazan's Curse was only level 30, it was still a weapon cursed by Kazan, possessing great power, but it was said to be very malevolent. However, Baron didn't know the specifics; he could only warn Lian Yang to be careful. As for why Lian Yang, at level 20, could wield a level 30 greatsword, Baron didn't ask. Everyone has their secrets, especially the always mysterious Lian Yang.

"Okay!" Nodding, Lian Yang led the way into the Netherworld Prison, which was filled with resentment.

With a casual swipe of her claw, Paris tore apart a frantically attacking elf. She complained, "What the hell are these things? Why are they never going to stop?!"

“Those are all elves.” Lian Yang, who happened to be there when Paris was being attacked by the elves, heard Paris’s mutterings and answered her.

"Elves?" Paris waved her hand again, smashing an elf to pieces, and said in a voice, "Aren't elves supposed to be kind and gentle creatures? Look at these guys, they're all crazy, kid, are you kidding me!" As she spoke, she angrily questioned Lian Yang.

"They've all been corrupted..." Just as Lian Yang was about to say that these were corrupted sprites, he noticed that the eyes of these attacking creatures were very empty, and exclaimed in surprise, "Where have their souls gone! They are now soulless beings."

"What!" Upon hearing Lian Yang's words, Paris carefully observed the little elf that was frantically rushing towards her: "It really has no soul! Damn it, who is it? I will never forgive you!"

Being controlled can eventually be broken, but losing one's soul means certain death. It's fair to say that the elves currently attacking Paris and Lian Yang are now inanimate objects—mere corpses manipulated by evil thoughts.

During the battle, Paris suddenly asked, "What are you doing here! It's very dangerous here!" Princess Paris of the stinky ditch was known for being stubborn on the outside but soft on the inside.

Baron said, "We came here specifically to find you. Where are your companions?"

Paris said, "You're from the Silver Village. My companion is trapped here, and I must go and rescue him."

"Bang!"

Just as Lian Yang was about to say something, a huge fireball slammed down on him.

"Jera!"

Upon seeing that fiery red figure, Baron couldn't help but shout loudly.

But Zyra didn't respond. With a wave of her hand, an even bigger fireball came hurtling down again.

"Stop yelling!" Lian Yang pointed at Zyra's eyes. "She's dead. Now, evil thoughts are controlling her body. My bad premonition is getting stronger!" This damned bad premonition stemmed from the fact that Lian Yang knew perfectly well that, apart from Darlex who was still in Silver Village, the other three of the Four Elemental Kings were dead, just like Zyra, having lost their souls.

Alice casually fired an anti-tank gun, taking down the charging elf. "What do we do now? Is this guy one of the people you saved?" she asked.

Lian Yang said, "Yes, she was the leader of the fire spirits, the first spirit we rescued, but now it's clear she's been harmed again." Even knowing Zyra's fate, Lian Yang still felt terrible that it had actually happened.

Zyra's arrival suddenly increased Paris's pressure; the endless suicide attacks would be unbearable for anyone.

Lian Yang, the core of the three, said, "Jera has been poisoned. Let's go back to Silver Village first. Paris, we will definitely rescue your companions, but we have to go now!"

Having dodged Zyra's fireball and killed another elf, Paris said, "There's no other way! I'll have to listen to you for now, brat!"

Silver Village, Tana

Seeing the group arrive safely, Tana said, "Phew! It's so lucky you actually ran into each other! How's the situation in the Netherworld Prison?"

Paris said, "I have no problem, but what exactly is the Underworld Prison? The elves there have all gone mad and lost their souls."

Tana said, "You know that place. Kind elves wouldn't normally go there. Some evil being manipulated them, causing them to gather there. I tried to contact Price, but I couldn't reach him."

Paris heard the name Price and felt it sounded familiar. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Price, those lunatics in prison have mentioned this name. Could he also be under control?"

Tana's tone was somewhat uncertain and uneasy: "No...no way! He's an elf prince! How could he be manipulated!"

Lian Yang suggested, "Let's go and check. We don't know how Paris's companions are doing now!" Lian Yang knew that Price had indeed been manipulated, and that it was Price who summoned the elves to the Netherworld Prison.

Before Tana could speak, Paris said, "That suits me perfectly! Let's split up and search. Whoever finds Price first must teach this elusive fellow a lesson!" She then turned and left, clearly very concerned for her companion.

Watching Paris leave in a hurry, Tana shook her head helplessly and said to Lian Yang, "The situation in the Netherworld Prison seems to be very bad."

Lian Yang nodded: "It's really bad, or rather, the elves of the Arnofa Forest are in very bad condition right now. We saw Zyra there, but her soul is gone, leaving only an elven shell. I even suspect that the other two elven kings we saved before also met a tragic end."

Tana said, "Has the situation become that serious? But no matter what, please make sure to check Price's condition first. If he has really been manipulated, the situation will become even more complicated!"

Underworld Prison

Alice casually annihilated the mass of evil thoughts that lunged at her with a tank cannon shot, and said, "How could the humans of Arad design such a maze-like prison? It's so annoying."

The Netherworld Prison was a maze of winding paths, making it extremely difficult for Lian Yang and his companions, who had no map, to find Price's whereabouts.

The mad elves, the ever-shifting aggregate of evil thoughts, and the maze-like corridors all gave Lian Yang and his companions a major headache.

"I really want to hear the sounds of fighting!" Baron said after the battle ended.

The three listened carefully to the sounds of battle, "Hmph, ha, hey!" Although the sounds were very faint by the time they reached their ears, they were still certain that Paris was fighting.

The three exchanged a glance, and Lian Yang said, "It's Paris, let's go quickly!"

Following the sounds of Paris's battle, Lian Yang and his two companions quickly found the place where Price was fighting.

Seeing Lian Yang and his two companions arrive, Paris couldn't help but say smugly, "Kids, you're a bit late. I was just about to beat this kid to a pulp!"
