Tomb Raiders: She Comes from the Ancient Martial Arts World

Chapter 3 There's a problem with the Populus euphratica forest.

The direction Wu Xie and his convoy were heading was exactly the same direction the film crew's car had come from.

While Ling Yue was arguing with the crew, Wu Xie kept watching through his sunglasses.

When Wu Xie saw Ling Yue walking away alone with his bag on his back, while the rest of the crew turned around in two cars, he understood their choice.

He gazed intently at Ling Yue, whose steps were firm and gradually receding into the distance, and in a daze, he seemed to see another person's departing figure in that tall and steady back.

Distracted for a moment, Wu Xie heard Li Cu's loud and boisterous voice in his ear. He casually replied with a couple of perfunctory words, started the car, and continued to lead the way.

As the car slowly passed Ling Yue, Wu Xie couldn't help but lightly tap the brakes, stick his head out of the car window, and point in a direction towards Ling Yue: "Go that way for about three hours, there's a small village there, you can go there and find someone to take you back."

Her fingers danced erratically on the steering wheel. Wu Xie smiled, her deep eyes behind her sunglasses filled with scrutiny and inquiry. She casually reminded him, "You're a pretty girl, remember to be careful on the road, and don't trust strangers easily."

From the very beginning, Wu Xie was filled with suspicion and apprehension towards the person in front of her, simply because she was so different in that film crew.

Whether it's a superior appearance, a dignified demeanor, or a keen eye for observation.

Wu Xie even suspected that the other person's hearing was extraordinary.

At such a crucial moment, Wu Xie dared not make a hasty judgment about anyone he met.

Whether the person in front of him left intentionally or sincerely, Wu Xie decided not to investigate further for the time being.

If the other party is someone arranged by the Wang family, then she will definitely reappear around him in other ways later.

If the other party was really just an ordinary person encountered on the road, their departure would likely have been pursued by the Wang family members who were following them, and they might even have been killed on the way to silence them.

Thinking of this, Wu Xie couldn't help but chuckle to himself. He was being quite hypocritical, knowing full well that she wouldn't have a good ending, yet still offering a warning with feigned goodwill.

I wonder if the guy will still recognize him as his brother when he comes out and sees him like this.

Wu Xie felt a surge of indescribable irritation, and his hatred for the Wang family deepened.

Ling Yue turned to look at Wu Xie, seemingly discerning the genuine goodwill in his words. The sharpness in his eyes faded, leaving only a sense of distance and a desire to "avoid each other and not disturb each other."

"Thanks for the reminder." The directions were indeed helpful to Ling Yue, as they hadn't passed through any small villages on their way here.

For Yu Lingyue, being able to find a local residence within two hours and seek help with transportation was indeed much more convenient.

Having accepted the other party's kindness, Ling Yue was willing to reciprocate in kind: "You should also be careful of the group behind you; each of them has a blood on their hands."

Regardless of whether the other party knew about these things or not, Ling Yue said it, and that was considered a form of repayment.

She doesn't think she and the other person will have any further interaction.

Wu Xie raised an eyebrow, not too surprised, smiled and waved, then quickly drove away.

A long convoy of cars sped past Ling Yue, kicking up clouds of fallen leaves and dust. Almost every car that passed by Ling Yue had someone looking at her through the window, each with a different meaning in their gaze.

Some were curious, some were watching the show, some were joking, and some were disappointed because their little schemes had fallen through.

Some people even whistled vulgarly at Ling Yue and shouted obscene words at the top of their lungs.

As the film crew's car passed by, Guozi still tried to persuade Ling Yue to get in, but Director Wang, who was driving, was holding his breath and stepped on the gas without blinking, quickly catching up with the car in front.

Once the convoy was completely out of sight, Ling Yue pulled off the scarf that had been covering his mouth and nose. Following Wu Xie's advice, he re-identified his direction and resolutely embarked on the path he had chosen.

In the lead car of the convoy, Li Cu clung to the back of Wu Xie's driver's seat. Once Ling Yue was out of sight, she frowned and said worriedly, "Is that sister really going to walk out of this desert alone? It took us so long to drive here. How long will it take her if she leaves?"

Li Cu was actually half worried and half envious.

She worries about whether the older sister who was cruelly abandoned by her companion is in danger, and envies the other sister for being able to leave.

Wu Xie saw right through his little scheme and sneered, "Should I throw you down too?"

Li Cu was genuinely tempted and seriously considered what equipment he should bring if he were to hike back, and how he would climb trees to avoid danger if he were to spend the night in the wilderness.

Before he could think any further, Wu Xie slapped him on the back of the head, just like Wu Xie's third uncle had slapped him back then.

Li Cu hissed, clutched the back of his head, turned around and roared at Wu Xie, "Wu Xie, are you sick?! You hit me for no reason!"

Wu Xie glanced at him sideways and said, "You still haven't memorized the information I asked you to memorize? If you call me by the wrong name again..."

Wu Xie winked at Wang Meng in the back seat through the rearview mirror. Wang Meng, who had just been watching the show with a smile, immediately leaned forward and held a small knife to Li Cu's neck. Li Cu was so frightened that he didn't even care about the injury on his back.

She leaned back in her chair as hard as she could, wishing she could shrink into it: "No, don't use a knife! I'll carry it! I'll carry it right away! I promise I won't call your name wrong next time!"

On the other side, the still drunk Ma Rila heard Li Cu's voice admitting defeat and begging for mercy, rubbed his eyes, and sat up straight.

Upon seeing this, he quickly shrank back, leaned his head against the window frame, and began snoring loudly, pretending that he was still asleep.

After all that commotion, Li Cu didn't dare to worry about others anymore, so he buried his head in his work and started memorizing the materials while muttering to himself.

Seeing him like this, Wu Xie chuckled and shook his head.

That kid, a beating will only keep him in check for a while, but once he's off the beating for a while, he'll start acting all high and mighty again.

Just when Ling Yue, Wu Xie, and the others thought they would never meet again, at least not in the short term, the reality was quite the opposite.

After the convoy had been driving for more than two hours and still hadn't left the poplar forest, Wu Xie finally realized something was wrong. He stopped the car, opened the door, got out, and looked at the trees around him, which had hardly changed at all.

It was when he got out of the car to observe the poplar trees by the roadside that he saw Ling Yue, who should have been far away, walking out from behind a grove of poplar trees, still dressed in the same way.

The moment Wu Xie saw her, his expression changed drastically, and his eyes darkened.

At this moment, Boss Ma and Su Nan and others came over and asked Wu Xie why he suddenly stopped the car here.

Before Wu Xie could answer, Boss Ma and Su Nan and the others also saw Ling Yue, and their expressions changed.

Ling Yue ignored the wary and suspicious looks from the crowd and walked straight up to Wu Xie, getting straight to the point: "There's something wrong with this poplar forest. It seems to contain the Five Elements and Eight Trigrams. I'm not good at this. I wonder if anyone in your team knows this?"
