Chapter 373 Movement

"Then go and make preparations. Issue the decree as soon as possible and order the army to set off to quell the rebellion."

Shang Rong, Bigan, and Jiang Ziya all replied in unison, "Your subjects obey the decree!"

After leaving the palace, Jiang Ziya and his two companions quickly returned to the Prime Minister's residence. They took out the imperial edict, quickly wrote down Huang Feihu's transfer order, and stamped it with the imperial seal. The three divided the work: Jiang Ziya took the edict directly to Huang's residence, while Shang Rong and Bigan were also busy, not only deploying troops but also mobilizing funds and supplies, since war is essentially about money.

The Huang Mansion in Chaoge.

Huang Feihu, bare-backed, slowly put away his spear. Although he was already a martial arts immortal, he still liked the feeling of practicing spear with his bare back. He had been practicing spear under his father since he was a child, and it had long since become a habit. If he didn't practice for a day, he felt like something was missing.

Just then, a young man in leather armor ran in and shouted to Huang Feihu, "General, the angel has arrived!"

Huang Feihu was stunned for a moment, then suddenly thought of the recent rebellion of the feudal lords. His eyes lit up. He felt that it must be a summons for him to lead troops. As for the commander-in-chief, he really hadn't thought about it. As long as he could go to the battlefield, that was fine. His spear had been waiting for too long and was already itching to be used!

Without even putting on his clothes, he quickly walked towards the front hall, when the leather-armored youth called out from behind, "General, your clothes?"

However, Huang Feihu had already disappeared from the training ground, leaving the leather-armored youth with no choice but to carry Huang Feihu's clothes and armor as he ran towards him.

At this moment, Huang Feihu had arrived at the front yard and saw Jiang Ziya from afar. Jiang Ziya was a rising star in the court in recent years and a minister trusted by King Zhou. Although Huang Feihu usually stayed in the army or in his mansion, he had only met Jiang Ziya a few times and did not know much about him.

Huang Feihu was a little puzzled. Even if he was to be ordered to quell the rebellion, there was no need for Jiang Ziya, the Vice Minister, to come forward and issue an order. Although he was puzzled, he still walked quickly into the main hall and went to Jiang Ziya.

"Huang Feihu greets the Vice Minister!"

"You must be General Fei Hu. No need for formalities," Jiang Ziya said, a hint of joy flashing in his eyes as he looked at Huang Fei Hu.

It should be noted that besides his exceptional talent in planning and politics, he did learn something valuable in the Kunlun Mountains.

Although he couldn't break through to the Celestial Immortal realm due to his inherent talent, he still had some understanding of divination and the way of destiny.

Looking at the thick purple aura above Huang Feihu's head and the striped tiger behind him, he was clearly a person of great fortune. Moreover, judging from his cultivation level, he had already reached the peak of the Celestial Immortal realm and would probably break through soon. Considering his age, he was a genius.

Thinking of this, Jiang Ziya, though heartbroken, felt a pang of envy. However, considering his talent, he couldn't help but smile bitterly.

He helped Huang Feihu up and then took out the imperial edict and read it aloud.

When Huang Feihu heard that he was to be appointed as the marshal of this campaign to quell the rebellion, he was surprised... no, he was horrified. Even with Jiang Ziya as the supervising officer above him, he still found it hard to believe.

However, seeing the human figure on the imperial edict, he ultimately accepted this windfall. Jiang Ziya understood Huang Feihu's situation and said a few words to him before taking his leave. After all, the Shang Dynasty court was extremely busy, and returning to the Prime Minister's residence early would at least alleviate some of the pressure on Shang Rong and Bigan.

……

Xibohou Kingdom.

After reviewing the recent intelligence from the Shang Dynasty court, Ji Chang, the Marquis of Xibo, handed the intelligence to his son, Boyi Kao. Ji Fa, who was standing beside him, was itching to snatch the intelligence from Boyi Kao, but he could only suppress his impulse when he saw Ji Chang and his other brothers and sisters on the screen.

This time, in addition to summoning his heir Bo Yikao and two sons to discuss the rebellion of the feudal lords and the movements of the Shang imperial court, Ji Chang, the Marquis of Xibo, also brought his other adult sons and invited some trusted ministers of the Marquis of Xibo to discuss how to deal with the matter.

Seeing that everyone had finished reading, Ji Chang, the Marquis of Xibo, looked directly at Boyi Kao and asked, "Your Highness, what is your opinion on this matter?"

Bo Yikao wasn't startled by the sudden call. Instead, he calmly and directly said, "Father, I think we should wait a little longer!"

After hearing this, Ji Chang, the Marquis of Xibo, did not express his opinion, but turned his head to look at Ji Fa and his other sons.

……

The more Li Shundao listened to the story of the underworld, the more he felt that Buddhism and Taoism were indeed worthy of being the cultivation paths of the two Western saints, and that they were indeed worth learning from.

While listening to the profound and mysterious teachings of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, I secretly pondered Buddhism.

In Buddhism, Bodhisattvas are also called Great Beings, just like the Bodhisattva Guanyin in her previous life could also be called Guanyin Great Being.

A Bodhisattva also represents a state of enlightenment, namely, a person who makes a great vow. Every person who can become a Bodhisattva makes a vow similar to that of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva: to "seek Buddhahood with wisdom and to liberate all sentient beings with compassion. Not seeking happiness for themselves, but wishing all sentient beings to be free from suffering"—a compassionate savior of the world.

Buddhist disciples making vows can be considered as making great vows. In fact, this practice originated from two Buddhist saints who made great vows and accumulated countless merits before achieving sainthood.

In fact, making a great vow can be seen as a way of paying off your credit card bill in advance. As long as you can repay the great vow you made, you will gain tremendous merit and good fortune in a short period of time, and breaking through your current level will not be a problem at all.

Therefore, every Buddhist disciple who breaks through to the Great Luo Golden Immortal realm will first make a great Buddhist vow, and then strive to fulfill it. However, most Bodhisattvas will choose a vow that is relatively easy to fulfill. As for great officials like Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva who shout "I will not become a Buddha until hell is empty," it can be said that there is basically no hope. Unless one day there is great chaos and the underworld collapses, it is simply a pipe dream to purify and convert the spirits of the dead.

In Buddhism, the status of a Bodhisattva is second only to that of a Buddha, and higher than that of an Arhat.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva exists between Yin and Yang, extensively liberating the dark and suffering world of the dead in Yin, and extensively alleviating human suffering in Yang. He himself vowed to liberate all sentient beings before attaining Buddhahood, demonstrating that his vow to liberate all beings is inexhaustible. Having witnessed the great suffering of the dead, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva universally urges us to dedicate our lives to refraining from evil, escaping the cycle of suffering, and attaining the bliss of Nirvana. This is the great vow of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

The primary duty of a Bodhisattva is to assist the Buddha in teaching and guiding sentient beings, spreading the Dharma, and universally saving them from suffering. Ultimately, Bodhisattvas attain Buddhahood through their practice. Bodhisattvas all make great vows to alleviate the suffering of sentient beings, remaining in the human realm with a spirit of self-sacrifice. They appear among the people in various incarnations, rescuing them from danger at any time and in any place. Therefore, the Bodhisattva's spirit of great compassion is deeply rooted in people's hearts, making them feel both close and respectable.

In their previous lives, wisdom, compassion, practice, and vow were the hallmarks of the four great Bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism: Manjushri represents wisdom, Avalokiteshvara represents compassion, Samantabhadra represents practice, and Ksitigarbha represents vow.

However, the Chan and Jie sects have now joined forces to directly oppose Buddhism. The four great Bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism are still far from being established, as only Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva have taken refuge in Buddhism, thus eliminating the concept of the four great Bodhisattvas.
