Knock, knock, knock—the door was being pounded on.

Tang Wan'er wiped away her tears, opened the door, and Ye Dongchen angrily yelled at her.

"Why did you push Youyou down the stairs? How could you be so vicious!"

Tang Wan'er said palely, "I didn't push her, she fell down on her own."

Ye Dongchen ignored her explanation and shouted, "You're still trying to deny it! I saw her fall down the stairs with my own eyes. If you didn't push her, who did?"

"She deserves it," Tang Wan'er sneered. "I'm really looking forward to seeing your expressions when you discover her true colors. It'll be quite a sight." With that, she immediately closed the door.

Ye Dongchen raised his voice, letting the warning echo into the room: "If there's a next time, I'll blacklist you and cut off your acting career."

Tang Wan'er smiled bitterly; she shouldn't have been so extravagant about family affection.

How sad.

So that's how bad she was in their eyes.

Looking at the cozy room, with all kinds of clothes and jewelry, it all started off beautifully.

It ended poorly, but that's okay, we'll just try it this time.

Tang Wan'er went downstairs. It was late at night. She hailed a taxi and prepared to leave the Ye family empty-handed.

Ye You walked up to Tang Wan'er with a smug smile on her face: "Oh, isn't this your older sister? Where are you going so late at night?"

Tang Wan'er glanced at her coldly, said nothing, and just wanted to get away from her and leave as soon as possible.

Ye You, however, persisted, reaching out to block his path: "What, do you think leaving will change anything? The people in this family have already decided on me; you're just an unwanted outsider."

Tang Wan'er gritted her teeth, suppressing her anger: "Get out of my way, I don't want to waste my breath on you."

Ye You laughed even more arrogantly: "Before you came back, everything should have been mine. Go away, and it's best if you never come back. Let me see how much backbone you have."

Tang Wan'er clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white, and the grievances in her heart surged like a tidal wave.

"Don't be too smug. The truth will come out sooner or later. Is something obtained through scheming really so indestructible?"

Ye You snorted coldly: "So what if you know? After all these years, the relationship between me and them is not something you can easily destroy."

Tang Wan'er knew that arguing with her was pointless, so she walked straight ahead.

The cold wind rushed into her collar, making her shiver, but the coldness in her body was nothing compared to the chill in her heart.

Behind her, Ye You's mocking laughter gradually faded, and Tang Wan'er's figure became smaller and smaller in the night, yet it exuded a stubborn determination.

She walks alone, and has grown accustomed to solitude.

Outside the car window, the neon lights of the city flashed across the window, landing on Tang Wan'er's forlorn face.

She pressed her lips together, staring blankly out the window, her eyes red-rimmed.

The driver glanced at the girl who got on the bus in the middle of the night through the rearview mirror, sighed inwardly, hesitated for a long time, and then spoke softly.

"Girl, what's wrong so late at night? Your eyes are all red from crying, did you run away from home?"

Tang Wan'er stiffened slightly, and after a while, she replied in a muffled voice, "I'm fine." Her voice was thick with nasal tone, clearly indicating that she had just had a good cry.

The driver's tone became gentler: "Young lady, please don't do anything rash. No matter what happens, just grit your teeth and get through it. Don't do anything foolish."

Touched by these words, Tang Wan'er turned her head, looked at the driver's concerned eyes in the rearview mirror, and shook her head.

"Auntie, don't worry, I won't do anything rash. I just feel frustrated and want to get some fresh air."

The driver's tense nerves finally relaxed, and he continued, "That's good, that's good. You look about the same age as my daughter. If my daughter ran out in the middle of the night, my heart would be in my throat."

"Tell your aunt if you've had a fight with your family. It'll make you feel better if you talk about it."

Tang Wan'er's eyes reddened even more, and her lips trembled: "Auntie, I feel like I'm an outsider in that family. Even though it's not my fault, they blame me without even asking questions."

The driver handed her a tissue and comforted her, saying, "Young lady, as long as you have a clear conscience, that's all that matters. Your family may be confused for a moment, but that doesn't mean they won't understand in the future. Maybe one day they'll realize they've wronged you and regret it to death."

"Don't punish yourself for their mistakes. Treat setbacks as obstacles in life, and you'll get through them."

Tang Wan'er took the tissue, wiped her tears, and nodded gently: "Auntie, thank you. Hearing you say that makes me feel much better."

The driver smiled and said, "That's right. From now on, things will definitely get brighter and brighter."

The second day passed, the third day passed, the fourth day passed, and no one in the Ye family noticed that Tang Wan'er had left.

Just when Tang Wan'er thought she was returning to a peaceful life, Ye You started causing trouble again.
