Socially anxious people transmigrate to another world; living in seclusion is too difficult.
Chapter 51 A Charming Smile
After the meal, Su Yang cleaned up the dishes and prepared to go out to buy some daily necessities before returning to take good care of his farmland and fruit trees. After all, he had been away for several days and had not removed weeds or pruned the branches, which had caused many weeds to sprout in the farmland.
Seeing Su Yang leave, Lin Anlan followed him out and asked, "What are your plans for today? Are you going out?"
"Yes, I'm going to Paramount to buy some daily necessities. Do you want to come with me?"
"Okay, I've only been to Paramount a few times and haven't really explored it properly."
Su Yang then left Die'er and Linglong at home and went out with Lin Anlan.
On the third floor of Bailu City, Lin Anlan was just about to stroll around when Su Yang pulled her straight to the household goods section. After a shopping spree, they finally bought all the essential household items that Su Yang thought were necessary, and then he said to Lin Anlan, "We're done shopping, let's go back."
"But I haven't even looked around yet." Lin Anlan didn't hide anything and directly stated that she still wanted to look around.
"This..." Su Yang hesitated, worried that if he went shopping again, he would be speechless if he encountered some vendors he had never seen before. But considering that Lin Anlan had taken the initiative to suggest that they go shopping, he couldn't refuse, so he had no choice but to bite the bullet and agree: "Okay, let's go shopping again."
Inside the market, a dazzling array of goods overwhelmed Lin Anlan, who rarely visited markets. She had never imagined what the life of an ordinary person was like, nor had she ever lived one. After browsing the market today, she discovered that even ordinary days could hold so many surprises. The sheer variety of goods was overwhelming, and when she arrived at the women's products section, she felt her girlish heart burst forth for the first time.
"This is beautiful!" Lin Anlan pulled Su Yang over and pointed to a sparkling hairpin. Su Yang looked at it and saw that it was a wooden hairpin, but it was inlaid with many unknown crystals, which sparkled dazzlingly in the sunlight.
"Then let's buy one," Su Yang said.
"Is that alright? I don't have any money on me, so you'll have to pay?" Lin Anlan had spent all her money on equipment or improving herself, and she basically had no savings.
"Sure, I'll give you the money, you can go buy it." Su Yang really couldn't communicate with strangers, so he simply gave Lin Anlan the money and let her buy it. After buying the hairpin, Lin Anlan looked at it with delight, feeling happy all the way. Then, the two passed a clothing store, and Su Yang stopped and said:
"Go inside and buy some clothes. You're still wearing my clothes, and a lot of people have been looking at you and laughing at you along the way."
Lin Anlan looked down and realized that Su Yang's clothes were indeed a bit ill-fitting for her: "Okay, let's go in and pick out a few pieces. You can help me choose." She had no concept of beauty or ugliness; as a demon, she considered herself the ugliest person in the world.
Entering the clothing store, Su Yang walked around a few times, looking at each style. Finally, he picked out three outfits that he thought were pretty good, held them up against Lin Anlan, and said, "They seem alright, what do you think?"
"It looks good. I don't know if it looks good or not, so I'll just pick the one you chose. As long as I can wear it, it's fine." Lin Anlan didn't know which one to choose either, so she simply bought whatever Su Yang picked. After all, it's just clothes, as long as they can be worn.
Hearing these words, Su Yang was moved to tears. He kept exclaiming, "What have I done to deserve this? One day, someone actually said that the clothes I picked out looked good!" He immediately took out his money and asked Lin Anlan to pay the bill.
After leaving the clothing store, the two browsed around for a while and bought some snacks. Su Yang couldn't take it anymore, since he was carrying not only the things in his bag but also a folding iron bed on his shoulder. So he said, "Lin Anlan, it's getting late. Shall we go back?"
Seeing Su Yang covered in sweat, Lin Anlan thought that they really couldn't keep shopping. It was hard on Su Yang to carry so much stuff and wander around with her for so long, so she nodded in agreement and said, "Okay, let's go back then."
Su Yang breathed a sigh of relief, and the two headed towards the farm.
Back at the farm, after putting away the purchased items, Die'er and Linglong curiously gathered around. Seeing that the things they'd bought were mostly household items, the two immediately lost interest. But when Die'er looked up and saw the hairpin in Lin Anlan's hair, sparkling, she became displeased and said sarcastically to Su Yang, "Master Su is so thoughtful! Taking his beautiful girlfriend to the market, he even bought her such a pretty hairpin to please her. It's truly enviable."
Upon hearing this, Linglong noticed the hairpin in Lin Anlan's hair, crossed her arms, and turned her head away in silent protest. Su Yang immediately knew that the two were angry because he hadn't bought them anything, even if they didn't need it, so he said:
"Don't rush," he said, then turned around, took out two slightly different hairpins from his bag, and continued, "Look, these are yours."
Butterfly wanted to say something more, but Linglong had already reached out and taken the hairpin, examined it carefully, and then said with satisfaction, "Put it on for me."
Seeing that Linglong was no longer on her side, Die'er had no choice but to accept the hairpin. She immediately realized it wasn't a random purchase; Linglong's hairpin had mostly silver-gray crystals at the end, while hers was predominantly purple. Satisfied, she smiled and had Su Yang put it on her. After putting the hairpins on both of them, Su Yang told them to go play on their own and then left the room to tend the farmland.
"Where are you going?" Lin Anlan asked from behind.
"I'm going to tidy up the farmland; it hasn't been tended to for several days." Su Yang didn't even turn his head, focusing on selecting farm tools.
"Then I'll go with you? I've never tried this before." Lin Anlan offered to help Su Yang manage the farmland.
“Okay, two people will be faster.” Su Yang readily agreed.
The two then took the selected farm tools and entered the fields. On the first plot of land, Su Yang taught Lin Anlan how to weed, how to turn the soil, how to harvest vegetables, and how to check for insects on the vegetable leaves. Seeing that Lin Anlan said she understood, he then officially began to tend the fields.
But Su Yang soon realized his mistake. The two of them working together only made Su Yang have to keep redoing things. Lin Anlan would just swing the hoe wildly, not caring about the specific situation. As long as she saw any sprouting, she would hoe it up as weeds, killing several vegetable seedlings. Su Yang had no choice but to stop, making an excuse that the sun was too strong and asking Lin Anlan to try on clothes while he redid everything.
Su Yang was busy until noon, and the scorching sun was too much for him to bear. He returned from the fields and rested for a while before preparing lunch. Just then, he ran into Lin Anlan coming downstairs in new clothes, which made Su Yang's eyes light up. Lin Anlan was wearing clothes similar to Hanfu. The red dress was not only bright but also suited Lin Anlan's temperament very well. Su Yang couldn't help but wonder if he had traveled to ancient times.
Lin Anlan gracefully descended the stairs. Seeing Su Yang staring at her, she felt a little embarrassed and asked softly, "How is it? Does it fit?"
"Perfect fit, more than just perfect fit, it can be described as a loosely tied bun and lightly applied makeup." Su Yang unconsciously recited an ancient poem.
Although Lin Anlan didn't understand the last line of the poem, she roughly knew that Su Yang was praising her. Her pretty face flushed slightly, and she walked to Su Yang's side and asked, "Do you want to cook now? I'll help you."
