Just as Lu An was making intensive preparations for Pact's ambitions, Su Yang and Lin Anlan had already left the Lingluo Great Forest and entered Lin Anlan's hometown: the Tianyun Empire.

Neither of them knew what had happened in the Duchy. If Su Yang knew what Pact and Fezi had done, he might be shocked, but that was none of his concern at the moment.

Lin Anlan had finally persuaded Su Yang to embark on an adventure together. Now, she was eager to return home. Since entering the territory of the Tianyun Empire, she had taken off the hat she had always used to hide her appearance and made no attempt to conceal her horns, which symbolized her demonic race. She traveled swiftly along the way, wishing she could return to her homeland that very day.

In contrast to Lin Anlan, Su Yang seemed quite relaxed along the way. Since he wouldn't be settling down anywhere in the short term, he was determined to enjoy the scenery along the way. On the day they crossed the border, the two decided to settle in a small border town.

According to Lin Anlan's introduction, the small town they are currently in is called Jiahe City. Looking at the layout of the city, Su Yang felt a sense of déjà vu. After thinking about it, he finally realized that the streets, houses, and even the city walls and gates of Jiahe City were similar to those of ancient China in the original world.

If the Duchy of Paisen is similar to the West, then the Heavenly Fortune Empire should be similar to the East. No wonder the names of the people he heard in the Duchy of Paisen were all Western-sounding. After figuring this out, Su Yang instantly felt more favorably toward the Heavenly Fortune Empire. It wasn't just because of cultural affinity, but also because it was the hometown of his good friend Lin Anlan.

The two strolled leisurely through the streets, occasionally encountering people who resembled demons. Some of these demons had two horns on their heads, while others had only one horn. Some possessed even more demonic features, such as wings on their backs or hair covering their bodies. Su Yang didn't yet have a complete understanding of demons. In his eyes, all demons should be similar to Lin Anlan, but the scene before him certainly piqued his curiosity.

"Shouldn't all the demons living in the Heavenly Fortune Empire look similar to you? Why do all the demons here look so different?" Su Yang asked, puzzled.

Upon hearing this, Lin Anlan glanced back at the demons who had just passed by, then smiled and said, "Of course they're all different. If they were all the same, the empire couldn't be called a place where humans and demons coexist."

"There are many kinds of demons and demon humans in the empire. Someone like me can only be called a demon human, which is the lowest level among demons. But the demons we just saw on the road can be distinguished by their different characteristics. The more characteristics they have, the purer their demon bloodline is, and the more types of elemental power they can master."

"Could the demons possibly master six or seven elemental powers at most? Wouldn't that make them invincible?"

"Theoretically, that's true, but I know that the most types of demons that have mastered them are only four. I've never seen any more than that. It's not necessarily true that the more types you master, the better. After all, mastering something is one thing, but the level of elemental power still needs to be strengthened through the improvement of mental power. So some demons may have mastered three types of elemental power, but only one of them is of the highest level."

As they walked and talked, Su Yang increasingly felt that the Heavenly Fortune Empire was the ancient world of the original world. People on the road were all dressed in ancient Chinese clothing, and most of the houses were made of wood. Only some large mansions used stone materials for their courtyards and gates.

Su Yang followed Lin Anlan to a building. Su Yang looked up at the layout of the building and subconsciously asked, "Is this an inn?"

"How do you know what that name is?" Lin Anlan asked, somewhat surprised. This was indeed an inn, but only people from the Tianyun Empire would use that name. Outsiders usually called it the Wooden Inn.

"Oh, I just suddenly thought of it." Su Yang smiled, then couldn't wait to walk into the inn. He was now full of curiosity about the Tianyun Empire, which was a great opportunity to experience ancient life up close.

Upon entering the inn, the layout was quite similar to the ancient inns Su Yang remembered. In the lobby on the first floor, besides a wooden bar, there were two or three square tables scattered around for guests to rest. To the right of the bar, there was a screen. Looking through the lattice of the screen, he could see that the back door was wide open, and some carriages and horses were tied up in the backyard. To the left was a staircase, presumably leading to the guest rooms.

Seeing that there was business, the innkeeper behind the counter greeted them with a smile and said, "Would you two be staying at the inn or just taking a short rest?"

"Does the innkeeper have any rooms available?" Lin Anlan asked.

"Yes, yes." The innkeeper looked the two men over and then said, "So, would you like to have a room arranged for you two distinguished guests? Would you prefer a Class A room or a Class B room? We don't have any Class C rooms available today."

So the innkeeper thought the two were a young couple. Upon hearing this, Lin Anlan blushed, but she didn't explain. She simply said, "Then how about a Class B room? How much is it?"

"Hehe, not expensive, five silver coins a room."

It seems that the currency of the Tianyun Empire is still silver and gold coins, and it is not different from that of the Principality of Paisen. Perhaps the countries on this continent are similar in other aspects except for their civilization and customs.

Su Yang took out the few gold coins he had from his bag and handed them to Lin Anlan to pay for the room. It wasn't that he didn't want to stay in two separate rooms, but he simply didn't have much savings left and was trying to save money wherever possible.

After successfully obtaining the key, the two went up to the third floor, found their room, and pushed open the door. The room was not large, but it was neat and orderly, with a typical ancient style. A square table was placed in the middle of the room, the bed was in the corner, and a desk and a chair were placed near the window. Apart from that, there was only a wooden wardrobe.

Perhaps because the economic environment wasn't as good as in the Principality of Paisen, this inn didn't have a private bathroom like the hotels in the principality. After putting down his luggage, Su Yang stood by the window for a while, then pushed open the door and went out to look for a bathroom.

Upon arriving on the first floor, he looked around but didn't see anything. He then decided to check the backyard. As he approached the backyard door, he saw a person emerge from a room, carrying a lingering odor. That must be the bathroom.

After the man left, Su Yang approached the room, but before he could even open the door, he smelled a odor. After thinking for a moment, he decided to back off. Knowing the location was enough; there was no rush.

Back in my room upstairs, I looked out the window at the weather. It was a rare sunny day. It was four o'clock in the afternoon, and there were more and more pedestrians on the street. As it got dark, the lanterns around the inn were lit up, and the streets were bustling with people and shouts.

"Shall we go eat across the street?" Lin Anlan's voice reached Su Yang's ears at that moment.

"Across the street?" Su Yang looked over and saw a three-story building across the street with red lanterns hanging under the eaves. Two waiters were loudly calling out to attract customers at the entrance. Looking through the windows on the second and third floors, he could see many people sitting inside eating and drinking, creating a lively scene.

"Okay, let's go." Inspired by this scene, Su Yang readily agreed and went with Lin Anlan to check out the restaurant across the street.
