Road Survival: My RV is a Moving Castle

Chapter 34 The Ostriches Seek Revenge

The vibrations caused dust and small stones to fall from above.

Faced with the sudden change, Song Chiyu frowned slightly.

She quickly scanned her surroundings and immediately realized that she could no longer stay in this rat hole.

Ignoring the snow mouse's protests, she grabbed its fluffy white tail and ran back to the hole she had come from.

The dust that fell from above made the two of them look covered in dirt, especially the snow rat, whose fur was originally clean, but now looked like it had just come back from digging coal.

Ignoring all that, Song Chiyu carefully led it, dodging the falling boulders and trying to stay close to the base of the wall.

The passageway we came through wasn't narrow; it was probably widened when Song Chiyu fell in.

She didn't find it too difficult to climb, but small ants and insects often crawled over her hands, giving her goosebumps.

Before long, a glimmer of light appeared in the distance.

But at this time.

The snow rat, which had been staying quietly in Song Chiyu's arms the whole way, suddenly became restless.

As Song Chiyu got closer and closer to the cave entrance, it struggled desperately and finally managed to break free from her grasp.

"Squeak! Squeak!"

It leaped down with all its might, blocking Song Chiyu's path and barking incessantly, preventing her from moving forward.

Song Chiyu clearly sensed its unease and fear, realizing that there must be some danger outside the cave.

So he stopped and listened carefully to the sounds outside.

The sounds of running outside disappeared, replaced by an eerie silence and deliberately slowed footsteps.

Sure enough, there is something fishy!

Seeing that she had finally stopped, the snow mouse jumped to Song Chiyu's feet like a little adult and patted her shoes with its paw.

It seems to be saying, "Don't be afraid, I'm here for you."

The next second, it became extremely small and flew and jumped to the cave entrance to check.

You can't even see it unless you look closely.

Song Chiyu obediently listened to its command and did not move, but its thoughts followed closely.

With her eyes closed, everything the snow rat had seen gradually appeared in her mind.

The snow rat left the burrow and went straight to the bottom of the giant crater that had been blasted earlier.

It cautiously and nimbly jumped out and hid behind a large rock outside the cave, secretly observing the situation.

The pit was filled with huge, mutated ostriches, numbering about a hundred, their long, straight legs as thick as bamboo poles.

One by one, they buried their heads in the soil, sniffing at something.

One of them was a bald ostrich, the one that had been electrocuted by the idiot before, but it seemed rather listless now.

What the snow rat saw terrified Song Chiyu so much that he got goosebumps.

She dared not imagine what kind of devastating blow she would have faced had the snow rat not stopped her from venturing out of the cave.

Perhaps just like when she used the stun gun on those mutated field mice before—she could kill them the moment they showed their faces.

But this time it was her turn to be instantly defeated.

The snow mouse cleverly jumped from one rock to another without being noticed by the ostriches.

When they were about ten or twenty meters away, the snow rats suddenly shrunk back to their original size.

It arrogantly squawked at the group of ostriches, and even turned its rear end towards them and farted.

Smelling a familiar scent on the stinky rat, the bald ostrich was the first to rush towards the snow rat.

Its eyes gleamed with a red light, mixed with intense hatred.

Seeing this, the other ostriches also followed him in chasing the snow rat.

Having achieved its goal, the snow mouse turned and darted away like a shadow, disappearing into the distance from the giant pit.

One minute later, Song Chiyu received a safety message from the snow rat.

It said it had led the flock of silly birds to a faraway place and told her to come out quickly.

Song Chiyu then cautiously poked his head out of the cave.

They discovered that the ostriches were indeed gone, leaving only treasure chests scattered on the ground and dried mutated field mice, many of which had been eaten by the ostriches.

Seeing so much jerky being eaten by those stinky ostriches, Song Chiyu felt heartbroken!

She'll come back one day to get revenge on those ostriches for the jerky!

Only after realizing that the snow mouse was safe did she begin to clean up the mess on the ground.

About five minutes later, the snow mouse returned.

It walked up to Song Chiyu, who was still picking up treasure chests, and stood there like a victorious rooster.

It scratched its nose with its paw, its face full of smugness.

That smug look seemed to say:

Look! Aren't I awesome?

Knowing that this little guy had saved her life, Song Chiyu didn't spoil its mood and gave it two thumbs up.

"You're so cool and awesome! You're practically a flying god mouse!"

Her surprised expression pleased the snow mouse greatly, and it was so happy that its tail practically flew up in the air.

Then it seemed to remember something, and its face fell instantly as it began to squeak and chirp around Song Chiyu.

You said you wanted the food from the cave?

"Understanding the snow rat's thoughts," Song Chiyu asked.

"Squeak, squeak squeak squeak! Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak!" (Of course, that was originally mine; you broke into my house and stole my food!)

"Squeak squeak squeak squeak!" (You robber!)

Seeing the snow rat's adorable, angry expression, Song Chiyu couldn't help but chuckle.

“You’re mine now, so what’s the point of talking about what’s yours and what’s mine? What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours, including you, is all mine.”

"Squeak! S ...

"Then help me pack up all these treasure chests and jerky and take them home, and I'll return them to you!"

"Squeak squeak squeak!" (It's a deal!)

Seeing that the little guy was very cooperative, Song Chiyu nodded with satisfaction.

Of course, she was also testing it.

When she was collecting its food in the cave before, she found that many of the grains were very large, some even dozens of times its size.

Moving such a large amount of food home is no easy task.

Therefore, Song Chiyu guessed that this little snow mouse must also have a similar space on its body.

Just as she was still wondering what kind of space it was, the snow rat's actions in the next second completely stunned her.

It was only the size of a palm when it opened its mouth and swallowed a low-level treasure chest that was a hundred times its size, placing it inside its mouth.

Its cheeks only bulged out as small bumps.

Just like a hamster stuffing nuts into its mouth, it stores them in its cheeks.

But what this snow rat put into its mouth was a treasure chest the size of a small suitcase!

To be honest, the visual impact of this scene is quite significant.

Song Chiyu swallowed hard in fright.

If she accidentally angers this ancestor one day, she might just swallow it whole.

[Don't worry, host. Once bound, the pet is not allowed to harm its owner. Don't be fooled by its fierce appearance now; it wasn't always gentle either.]

so far so good!

Although this little rascal has a bad temper, it seems we can still get along well for now.

You just have to praise it often!
