Transmigrating to the Song Dynasty: Water Margin Business Management

Chapter 33: Ruffians Cause Trouble at the Restaurant

After receiving the favor from Yin Tianxi, Zhang San was overjoyed, feeling that he was about to become very powerful.

The next day, Zhang San, along with Wang Wu, Zhao Liu, Li Er, and Ma Zi, swaggered into Zhao Tianming's restaurant.

As soon as he entered, Zhang San shouted at the top of his lungs, "Waiter, bring me the best wine and food!"

Zhang San rolled his eyes at him: "What are you laughing at? I'm just adding some 'fragrance' to their restaurant."

No sooner had he finished speaking than two more farts came out, and the surrounding guests couldn't help but cover their noses.

Zhao Liu joked from the side, "Brother Zhang, if your farts could be used as weapons, the enemy would all be scared away by them!"

Zhang San said smugly, "That's right, I call this subduing the enemy without fighting."

Ma Zi chimed in, "Brother Zhang is amazing! Amazing!"

Not content with just farting, Zhang San started pounding on the table, making it shake violently.

He pounded on the ground and shouted, "I've been sitting here for ages, why isn't the food and drink coming yet?"

At this moment, the waiter from the restaurant rushed over, smiling obsequiously, and said, "Gentlemen, please wait a moment, we'll be right there."

Zhang San glared at him and said, "Hurry up, or I'll smash up this lousy shop!"

The waiter nodded repeatedly and hurried off to urge the kitchen staff.

These men caused chaos in the restaurant, and the other customers shook their heads and pointed at them.

When He Xiang saw this group of hooligans causing trouble in the restaurant, she was terrified and quickly grabbed a waiter, saying in a trembling voice, "Quick, go and treat these people well, don't let them cause trouble."

Zhang San, along with his henchmen Wang Wu, Zhao Liu, Li Er, and Ma Zi, were indulging in a gluttonous feast. Zhang San, his mouth stuffed full, mumbled, "Brothers, eat as much as you want!" Wang Wu grabbed a roast chicken and tore it apart with his hands, his face greasy from the food. Zhao Liu picked up a bowl of wine and gulped it down, the liquor dripping from his chin. Li Er shoveled food everywhere from his plate, while Ma Zi went even further, carelessly tossing chicken bones and scraps of food all over the floor as he ate.

Before long, the group had finished eating and drinking. Zhang San let out a burp, wiped his mouth, and glanced sideways at the waiter, saying, "Hmph, if you want this restaurant to stay in business, you'll have to pay up!"

The waiter looked aggrieved and said, "Sir, we've already paid all the taxes."

Upon hearing this, Zhang San flew into a rage. He slammed his hand on the table, making the dishes jump, and roared, "You haven't paid your protection money! Don't give me that nonsense about taxes. If you don't pay your protection money today, this restaurant can forget about staying open!"

The others joined in the jeering. Wang Wu stood up, rolled up his sleeves to reveal his muscular arms, and shouted, "That's right, pay up!" Zhao Liu kicked over a stool, while Li Er grabbed a wine jug, threatening to smash it. Ma Zi also waved his fists, yelling, "Hurry up, don't dawdle!"

Seeing this, the other customers in the restaurant were so frightened that they all paid their bills and left, fearing they would get into trouble.

When Li Kui heard that someone was causing trouble at the restaurant again, his fiery temper flared up instantly. Without saying a word, he grabbed the large axe he usually used for chopping wood and charged out menacingly.

"You bunch of bastards, are you blind? How dare you cause trouble at Boss Zhao's restaurant!" Li Kui roared at the top of his lungs, his voice like thunder, making the restaurant windows vibrate.

Zhang San, who had been sitting there smugly, glanced sideways at Li Kui upon hearing the roar. He saw Li Kui, a burly man with a menacing face, wielding a frightening broad axe. Zhang San's heart skipped a beat. But relying on his superior numbers, he gritted his teeth and spat at Li Kui.

"Pah! You charcoal seller, get out of my way. Just sell your charcoal properly, why are you meddling in other people's business? Look at your filthy face!" Zhang San pointed at Li Kui and cursed, his finger almost poking Li Kui's nose.

Li Kui was enraged by the spitting and cursing. "You ignorant fool, how dare you spit on me and curse me!" Li Kui's eyes widened, almost bulging out of their sockets, as if he wanted to devour Zhang San alive.

Wang Wu fanned the flames from the side: "Hey, you black-faced rascal, you dare to be arrogant? Do you know who our boss is?"

Li Kui completely ignored Wang Wu and walked straight toward Zhang San, the floor seeming to tremble with every step he took.

Seeing this, Zhao Liu panicked and stammered, "You...you stay away! We're not afraid of you!"

Li Er echoed, "Yes, yes, if you come any closer, we won't be polite!"

Li Kui walked up to Zhang San, looked down at him, and slammed his axe heavily on the ground with a loud "bang," startling Zhang San so much that he trembled.

"I don't care who you are, causing trouble at Boss Zhao's restaurant is unacceptable!" Li Kui shouted.

Zhang Sanqiang feigned composure, stood up, and tried to intimidate Li Kui with his imposing manner: "Hmph, you think we're afraid of your broken axe? Go ahead and try chopping one down!"

Ma Zi shouted from behind, "Brother, don't be afraid of him, there are so many of us!"

Li Kui sneered, "Come on, all of you come at me! I'll teach you scoundrels a lesson today!"

As he spoke, Li Kui raised his axe and swung it in the air, creating a gust of wind.

Zhang San and his companions were so intimidated by this imposing aura that they took a few steps back.

"Go ahead, all of you, go ahead and attack!" Zhang San shouted to his men, but they looked at each other, none of them daring to make the first move.

At this moment, everyone else in the restaurant gathered around and began to criticize Zhang San and his group.

"You bunch of scoundrels, this is outrageous!"

"Exactly, all they do is bully people all day long!"

Seeing that he had angered everyone, Zhang San began to have second thoughts.

Seeing that things were going badly, Zhang San was about to slip away when Ma Zi whispered to him, "Brother, if we just slink away like this, we'll never be able to make a living in this area again."

Upon hearing this, Zhang San felt that Ma Zi's words made a lot of sense. He thought to himself that if he were to back down like this in the future, and be intimidated by others without ever having fought a battle, where would he put his old face? With this thought in mind, Zhang San immediately perked up again.

He turned around and said to Li Kui, "You damned charcoal seller, since you dare to meddle in other people's business, then I'll teach you a lesson!"

Upon hearing this, Li Kui burst into laughter: "Oh, I thought you really ran away, but you still wanted to jump around a bit. Come on, let's see how capable you really are!"

Zhang San rolled up his sleeves, striking a fighting pose, and shouted, "Brothers, let's go! We're going to teach this charcoal-headed guy a lesson today!"

Although Wang Wu, Zhao Liu, Li Er, and Ma Zi were a little apprehensive, seeing that Zhang San had said so, they had no choice but to bite the bullet and rush forward.

Zhang San swung his fist at Li Kui, but Li Kui dodged to the side, causing Zhang San to miss and nearly fall flat on his face. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Wang Wu attacked Li Kui from behind, but Li Kui seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, kicking Wang Wu so hard he landed flat on his back.

Seeing this, Zhao Liu picked up a stool and smashed it at Li Kui. Li Kui raised his hand to block it, and the stool broke in two with a "crack". Li Er tried to grab Li Kui's waist, but Li Kui threw him over his shoulder and sent him flying far away.

When Ma Zi saw this, he was so frightened that he dared not go forward and stood trembling on the side.

Zhang San was furious and yelled, "You coward, Ma Zi, hurry up and help!"

The pockmarked man said tremblingly, "Brother, we...we can't beat this!"

Enraged, Zhang San yelled, "Useless trash, get them!"

Li Kui put his hands on his hips and shouted, "With your meager skills, you dare to cause trouble? Get lost and stop embarrassing yourselves!"

Zhang San'er still wanted to save face, but he knew he couldn't openly fight Li Kui. His eyes darted around, and he devised a plan. This time, he didn't intend to fight Li Kui openly; instead, he planned to use underhanded tactics.

He secretly reached into his pocket, quietly pulled out a handful of lime, and a sinister smile appeared on his face. Taking advantage of Li Kui's smugness and lack of attention to his actions, Zhang San'er suddenly threw the lime out.

"Ah! My eyes!" Li Kui screamed as lime instantly blinded him. He squeezed his eyes shut in pain, brandishing his axe and yelling wildly like a headless fly, "You despicable bunch, if you have the guts, fight me fair and square!"

Seeing that his plan had succeeded, Zhang San'er laughed triumphantly: "Haha, let's see how arrogant you are now!"

Seeing this, Wang Wu, Zhao Liu, Li Er, and Ma Zi perked up. They started picking things up from the table—plates, bowls, chopsticks—and throwing them at Li Kui.

Wang Wu picked up a plate and threw it forcefully, shouting, "Watch my plate dart!" Unfortunately, the plate missed Li Kui and instead hit a nearby pillar, shattering into several pieces with a crash.

Zhao Liu threw out a pair of chopsticks and said in a pretentious manner, "Chopstick arrow, I'll shoot a big hole in you!" As a result, the chopsticks landed lightly at Li Kui's feet.

Li Er was even more ridiculous. He picked up a wine jar and tried to throw it, but found that the jar was too heavy and he couldn't throw it at all. Instead, he stumbled and almost fell over.

Ma Zi was the most timid. He took a small bowl, threw it with trembling hands, and his voice was trembling with tears: "I...I'll hit you too!"

Although Li Kui's eyes were blinded, he was so enraged by the chaotic noise that he roared, "You bunch of bastards, once my eyes are healed, I'll skin you alive!"

Chaos erupted in the restaurant as customers scattered, some hiding under tables, others running to corners, and still others fleeing the restaurant altogether.

While throwing things around, Zhang San'er didn't forget to taunt, "Come on, come and catch us!"

Just then, someone shouted, "The officials are here!"

Upon hearing this, Zhang San'er's face turned deathly pale: "Oh no, brothers, run!"

Wang Wu, Zhao Liu, Li Er, and Ma Zi didn't bother throwing anything anymore and ran away as fast as they could.

Li Kui rubbed his eyes and yelled from behind, "Don't run! Don't you dare run away!"
