Transmigrating to the Song Dynasty: Water Margin Business Management
Chapter 227: Song Jiang and Wu Yong Throw Them into the Prison Wagon
In this eerie ancient castle, the bright light gradually dimmed, and the strange figures began to stir again, slowly approaching Wu Yong and his companions.
Wu Yong's expression was grave as he quickly considered a solution. He whispered to the others, "Everyone, stand back to back in a circle. Don't give these strange people any opportunity."
The group did as instructed, gathering closely together and warily watching the strange man around them.
Wu Song, panting heavily, said, "This can't go on. We need to take the initiative and find a way out."
Wu Yong nodded in agreement: "Brother Wu Song is right, we cannot sit idly by and wait for our doom."
So, Wu Yong led the group to resist the monsters' attacks while slowly moving deeper into the castle. They carefully avoided any possible traps and mechanisms, while keeping an eye out for any usable items or clues around them.
At a corner, Lu Junyi discovered a half-open door, from which a faint light seemed to be coming through.
"Look everyone, there seems to be a way out over there!" Lu Junyi shouted.
The group perked up and rushed toward the door. However, the strange creatures sensed their intentions and frantically tried to stop them.
Li Kui roared and brandished his double axes, like a raging beast, clearing a path for the crowd.
"Go inside quickly!" Li Kui shouted.
Everyone rushed through the door and found a room filled with clutter. In the corner of the room lay a yellowed book.
Wu Yong quickly picked up the book and flipped through it, hoping to find the secrets of the castle or a way to leave.
Just then, the strange men outside began banging on the door, and it looked like the door was about to collapse.
"Quickly, find out if there are any other exits!" Wu Yong said anxiously.
The group searched the room thoroughly, and finally, Wu Song discovered a loose floor tile, beneath which seemed to lie a hidden passage.
"There's a passage here!" Wu Song shouted.
Without a second thought, everyone jumped into the passage. The passage was filled with a damp smell, and the walls were covered with moss.
They groped their way forward along the passage, and after walking for an unknown amount of time, they finally saw a glimmer of light.
"The exit is just ahead!" Lu Junyi said excitedly.
The group quickened their pace and walked out of the passage, only to find themselves in a desolate wilderness.
"Finally out." Li Kui plopped down on the ground, panting heavily.
Wu Yong remained vigilant, saying, "We haven't found Brother Zhao Tianming's whereabouts yet, so we can't let our guard down."
Everyone got up and continued searching for Zhao Tianming's whereabouts.
They walked for a while in the wilderness and found some messy footprints and signs of a struggle.
"It seems Brother Zhao has been here before," Wu Yong said.
Following these clues, they arrived at a dilapidated temple. The temple doors were tightly shut, but faint voices could be heard coming from inside.
Wu Yong signaled everyone to be quiet and quietly approached the temple.
Through the window, they saw Zhao Tianming tied to a pillar, with several Liao soldiers standing beside him.
"Prepare to rescue them!" Wu Yong whispered.
The group quietly circled around to the back door of the temple, and Li Kui kicked the door open, sending them rushing inside.
The Liao soldiers were caught off guard by the sudden attack and were quickly subdued by Wu Yong and his men.
"Brother Zhao, are you alright?" Wu Yong hurriedly untied Zhao Tianming's ropes.
Zhao Tianming said weakly, "I'm fine, thanks to you all."
Just then, the sound of horses' hooves came from outside the temple. It turned out that Gao Ke had arrived with more Liao troops.
"None of you are leaving!" Gao Ke shouted.
Wu Yong and the others protected Zhao Tianming and engaged in another fierce battle with the Liao army...
Unable to withstand the attacks of the Liangshan heroes, Gao Ke panicked. He then shouted behind him, "Master Lingxu, save me!"
A figure slowly emerged. This person was named Lingxu, dressed in a moon-white Taoist robe embroidered with a yin-yang symbol that shimmered faintly in the breeze, exuding a mysterious aura. He held a Seven-Star whisk, its silken strands as white as snow, and seven dazzling pearls inlaid at the handle, shimmering with an eerie light.
Lingxu wore a purple jade amulet around his neck, said to ward off evil spirits and enhance magical power. In his right hand, he held a brass bell, which, when shaken gently, produced a clear yet unsettling sound.
Lingxu wore a silver-threaded mask, revealing only a pair of deep, sharp eyes that held an unfathomable mystery. His steps were light, as if he were walking on clouds, each step carrying a transcendent rhythm, yet also giving off an invisible sense of pressure.
When the Liangshan heroes saw Lingxu appear, they couldn't help but feel a chill, but they did not back down.
Master Lingxu stood still, his gaze coldly sweeping over the Liangshan heroes, and he snorted: "You bandits, how dare you be so insolent before me today!"
Wu Yong stepped forward, cupped his hands, and said, "Daoist Master, we are only here to save people and have no intention of being your enemy. We hope that you will do us a favor."
Master Lingxu remained unmoved. He shook the brass bell in his hand, and the bell rang out crisply. Instantly, an invisible pressure swept over everyone.
"Hmph, enough talk, take this!" Master Lingxu waved his whisk, and a beam of light shot straight towards the crowd.
The Liangshan heroes scattered in all directions, and Li Kui shouted, "You evil Taoist, stop being so arrogant!" With that, he brandished his double axes and charged forward.
Master Lingxu dodged to the side, his whisk transforming into several beams of light that coiled around Li Kui like ropes. Li Kui was bound by the light and unable to move.
"Iron Ox!" Song Jiang exclaimed.
Seeing this, Wu Song grabbed his staff and attacked Master Lingxu, attempting to rescue Li Kui. Master Lingxu, however, remained calm and chanted incantations, conjuring a barrier that blocked Wu Song's attack.
Lu Junyi drew his bow and aimed an arrow at Master Lingxu. Master Lingxu waved his whisk and knocked the arrow away.
At this point, the Liangshan heroes, despite their bravery and fearlessness, gradually found themselves powerless against the powerful magic of Master Lingxu.
Master Lingxu waved his whisk again, and a powerful gust of air rushed towards the crowd, repelling them all.
"Ah!" Lu Zhishen stumbled and fell to the ground.
"Brothers, be careful!" Song Jiang shouted, but his voice was full of anxiety and helplessness.
Lin Chong thrust his spear at Master Lingxu, but Master Lingxu easily dodged it. Then, a spell struck Lin Chong, who coughed up blood and fell to the ground.
"Instructor Lin!" everyone exclaimed.
Wu Yong tried to find a flaw in Master Lingxu's magic, but found that he had no way to start.
Master Lingxu sneered, "You think you can stand against me?"
The brass bell in his hand rang again, its sound growing more urgent, each ring like a heavy hammer striking the hearts of the Liangshan heroes.
The sisters Sun Erniang and Hu Sanniang joined forces to attack Master Lingxu, but he swung his whisk and sent them both flying.
"This sorcerer is incredibly powerful!" Sun Erniang said through gritted teeth.
Shi Jin brandished his Nine-Dragon Staff and charged toward Master Lingxu, but was struck by a beam of light from Master Lingxu, causing the staff to slip from his hand.
"Damn it!" Shi Jin's eyes widened in anger.
One by one, the heroes of Liangshan were defeated by Master Lingxu. They were covered in wounds, but they still resisted stubbornly.
Seeing his brothers injured, Song Jiang was extremely anxious: "Daoist Master, could you please show mercy!"
Master Lingxu ignored him and continued to cast powerful spells.
Lu Junyi drew his bow and shot again, but Master Lingxu turned the bow and arrow to ashes with a spell.
"What should we do?" Lu Junyi frowned deeply.
For a time, the Liangshan heroes were in dire straits; they were no match for Master Lingxu.
Master Lingxu pressed forward relentlessly, forcing the Liangshan heroes to retreat continuously.
Seeing that Master Lingxu had turned the tide, Gao Ke exclaimed with delight, "Master, throw all these bandits into the prison cart!" His face was full of pride and arrogance, as if he could already see the tragic end of the Liangshan heroes.
Master Lingxu nodded slightly, and with another wave of his whisk, an even more powerful light instantly enveloped the Liangshan heroes. They were trapped in place, unable to move.
"Hahahaha, you bunch of arrogant bandits, today is your doom!" Gao Ke laughed wildly.
Song Jiang glared at Gao Ke and shouted, "Gao Ke, you traitor, you've been aiding and abetting evil, you won't have a good end!"
Gao Ke sneered: "Song Jiang, you are now prisoners, and you still dare to be stubborn!"
Wu Yong shouted, "Gao Ke, you've colluded with this evil Taoist priest! This is an outrage against Heaven!"
Gao Ke, however, did not take it seriously and turned to Daoist Lingxu, saying, "Daoist, we must not let them have another chance to escape."
Master Lingxu formed hand seals and chanted incantations. The light emanating from him grew stronger, making it almost impossible for the Liangshan heroes to breathe.
Gao Ke smugly commanded the Liao soldiers: "Quickly, prepare the prison carts and take them all away!"
The Liao soldiers sprang into action, and prison carts were pushed over one after another.
"Shove them in!" Gao Ke shouted.
Li Kui struggled fiercely, roaring, "I, Li Kui, will never yield!"
Gao Ke stepped forward and kicked Li Kui hard: "Hmph, even now, you're still being stubborn!"
Wu Song's eyes blazed with fury as he cursed, "Gao Ke, you shameless scoundrel, if you have the guts, fight me one-on-one!"
Gao Ke sneered, "Even when death is imminent, you still dare to struggle."
One by one, the heroes of Liangshan were forcibly shoved into prison carts. They were wounded, but they were still full of indomitable fighting spirit.
Gao Ke looked at the people in the prison cart, his heart filled with satisfaction: "You've finally met your match!"
Just then, Song Jiang said, "Gao Ke, do you think you can defeat our Liangshan heroes like this? Justice will prevail, and your evil deeds and those of this sorcerer will surely be punished!"
Gao Ke snorted: "You're about to die, and you're still spouting such big talk."
Master Lingxu said, "Take them away and keep them under strict guard."
The Liao soldiers drove the prison carts slowly forward. Gao Ke followed beside them, occasionally mocking the Liangshan heroes.
However, the Liangshan heroes remained resolute in their eyes while in the prison cart. They secretly vowed that as long as they had the chance, they would break free of their restraints and make Gao Ke and Daoist Lingxu pay the price for what they had done today.
