Landlady who likes to hoard land

Chapter 119 Going to Beijing

Wang Chenghua now lives in the apartment in the city that Wang Chengyu previously rented to his mother.

The house still has heating, but the heating season won't end until March.

She decided to stay until her lease expired before moving out.

One reason is that it's more comfortable for the children to live with heating.

Secondly, she was too tired after moving once, so she wanted to wait a few months before moving again.

Wang Chengyu had originally planned to move here as soon as possible, but things didn't go smoothly and the move didn't happen.

That night, I had just fallen asleep when I was woken up by a phone call.

It was Mr. Xie calling.

Wang Chengyu answered the phone with a puzzled look.

"I'm sorry, Chengyu, for calling you so late."

Wang Chengyu shook his head, trying to clear his mind.

"It's alright, Mr. Xie, is there anything I can help you with?"

Old Xie's voice sounded anxious and somewhat uneasy, as if something serious had happened.

At Mr. Xie's home, Mr. Chen sat next to Mr. Xie, anxiously awaiting the outcome of the phone call.

Old Xie sighed heavily. "Chengyu, I need your help to save someone. It's urgent, and it's not convenient to go into details over the phone."

"Okay! No problem!"

Wang Chengyu didn't ask any questions. She had nothing else to do, so she agreed without much hesitation.

Xu Wen, Xu Yao, and Xu Jianren were having so much fun outside that they didn't care about her at all.

Another reason why Wang Chengyu agreed was that anyone who could get Elder Xie to speak up must be someone of similar caliber to Elder Wang from last time.

Helping people of high status means she has another opportunity to accumulate a lot of merit.

"Thank you, Chengyu. Consider it a favor I owe you. Pack your things, we'll be there to pick you up soon," Old Xie said with delight.

Not long after she hung up the phone, Mr. Xie sent a car to pick her up.

"Chengyu, get in the car."

When Wang Chengyu got into the car, he realized that besides the driver, not only was Mr. Xie in the car, but Mr. Chen was also in the car.

"Thank you, Elder Chen!" Wang Chengyu greeted them after sitting down.

"You silly girl, how did you get noticed by Old Man Xie? You're going to be busy from now on!"

Old Chen sat casually in the passenger seat, speaking in a teasing tone.

Old Xie blushed and defended himself.

"Don't talk nonsense. I can handle most problems myself. I would never bother Chengyu. This person is too important. I only bothered Chengyu because I had no other choice."

"Hmph, I don't believe you for a second. Nothing that involves you is unimportant!"

"Girl, remember to ask for payment, ask for more than he should. If he doesn't give you enough, don't help him anymore."

"Don't worry, Cheng Yu will definitely get her share of the reward this time. Even if the higher-ups don't give it to her, I will compensate her."

You better keep your word!

Cheng Yu sat quietly to the side watching the two argue without responding. If they really offered her payment, she would accept it; she had already put in the effort and couldn't work for nothing.

Previously, Old Wang was repaying a favor to Old Xie, but this time there's no favor for her to repay; she still has to accept what she owes.

Wang Chengyu thought she would arrive at the destination soon, but it wasn't until the car entered the highway that she realized the person she needed to rescue might not be in the city.

"Mr. Xie, are we leaving the city?"

Old Xie slapped his thigh,

"Look at my memory, it's all Old Chen's fault for always finding fault, I forgot to tell you."

The people we're rescuing are in Beijing, but we'll know their exact location once we get there.

Beijing? It's actually in Beijing!

There are plenty of highly skilled doctors in Beijing, and there are certainly plenty of people who know Qigong, so why would they need her to save them?

Wang Chengyu was completely taking it for granted. Her spiritual energy was unique in the world. Although there were many people in Beijing who knew Qigong, most of them were at the same level as Elder Chen, but there was none who could manipulate spiritual energy as easily as she did.

Old Master Xie decided to bring her along only after personally experiencing her amazing unblocking techniques.

Since we're already here, we might as well make the best of it. We're already on the train, and we can't back out halfway through. Old Xie isn't going to sell her off anyway.

Wang Chengyu closed his eyes to rest, and his consciousness entered the library in the space to study frantically.

It was already past midnight when the car arrived in Beijing. It stopped in front of a hotel, and just as Wang Chengyu was about to get out, Elder Xie stopped her.

"Chengyu, don't get out of the car yet, we haven't arrived at our destination!"

Wang Chengyu glanced at the hotel outside the car, then at Old Chen, who was sitting there unmoving. He then looked at Old Xie, withdrew his hand from the car door, and sat back in his original seat, completely bewildered.

The driver got out of the car at that moment, and a short while later a young man with a buzz cut sat in the driver's seat.

"Mr. Xie, Mr. Chen, Ms. Wang, please have a seat. I'm starting my car."

It's strange that he seems to know them even though it's the first time we've met.

The man restarted the vehicle and continued driving.

Wang Chengyu became increasingly puzzled. What did it mean to change drivers halfway through the journey? Was it because the driver had been driving for too long and he was being asked to stay at a hotel to rest?

Forget it, stop thinking about it. This kind of brain-taxing thing isn't for her. Anyway, she trusts Elder Xie and Elder Chen, that's enough.

I closed my eyes again to rest.

Wang Chengyu was unaware that from the moment she got into Xie Lao's car, her ancestors for eighteen generations were being thoroughly investigated, and now all the information about her was on the desk of a certain leader.

The middle-aged man flipped through her file page by page.

"Sir, she has a clean background, is of impeccable revolutionary lineage, and her grandfather was a veteran of the Red Army! No problem!"

However, the records don't indicate that she studied medicine, and it's unclear where she learned her medical skills.

"That's what the crew-cut young man standing to the side said."

"Well, the people that Elder Xie approves of are mostly right, but it's always good to be more careful in everything, as long as their family background is fine."

The middle-aged man took off his glasses and put the documents he had finished reading aside.

Wang Hualing, a middle-aged man, is the head of the National Intelligence Agency.

"Where are they?"

"We've already entered the capital; we'll arrive at our destination soon!"

"Have Dean Li personally go to pick them up!"

"Okay, Director!"

The car was moving at a steady speed. The newly assigned driver was very skilled, and Wang Chengyu was almost asleep.

"Chengyu, we've arrived. Get off the bus."

Wang Chengyu opened her eyes groggily. It turned out that she had fallen asleep without realizing it. It was the perfect time to sleep at night!

Luckily, she now has the spiritual spring water, otherwise she would have gone bald. The most important thing for middle-aged women is that their hair is getting thinner and thinner. Touching her own long, black, shiny, and smooth hair, she noticed that her hair volume was increasing.

He climbed out of the car and looked around.

An ordinary, unremarkable hospital came into her view; it even had a somewhat dilapidated, dated feel.

What Wang Chengyu didn't know was that what appeared to be an ordinary hospital was actually surrounded by hidden guards, though she simply couldn't see them.

"Chengyu, what are you looking at? Hurry up and follow me." Old Xie reminded her when he saw her standing still.

"Oh, it's coming."

Wang Chengyu snapped out of his daze and followed Elder Xie and Elder Chen into the hospital.

As soon as he stepped into the hospital, two doctors in white coats hurried towards him. One of them, the older one, grabbed Mr. Xie's arm and led him toward the elevator, exchanging pleasantries as they went.

"Elder Xie, Elder Chen, you've finally arrived. I'm so sorry to have kept you here all night. The situation is extremely critical; I'm afraid he won't last much longer. We need to hurry!"

Old Xie was pulled along quickly, but he wasn't annoyed. He even looked back to see if Wang Chengyu was keeping up.
