Model worker and his little darling
Chapter 508 The Carefree Hattori
"Hira Kiyoshi, that person knows I'm Shinichi Kudo."
Ping Qing raised an eyebrow. "Another person who knows your identity? More and more people know your identity now. They all tell you to keep a low profile and not to show off everywhere."
Conan: ...
He doesn't want to talk to Pingqing at all right now.
"Are you feeling better now? I noticed something was off about you as soon as we left the police station."
Slapping away the large hand that was messing with his head, Conan walked ahead with his skateboard in his arms. "Let's go. That person gave us a new clue: 'an outdoor cafe at night.'"
"what is that?"
"It's a landscape painting by Van Gogh in 1888, depicting a horse-drawn carriage slowly emerging from the depths of an open-air café shrouded in the dim light of a gas lamp. The only things that remain are the carriage and the gas lamp, and that was the first carriage road in Japan to be equipped with gas lamps."
The two arrived at the carriage road, and Conan's searchlight-like eyes scanned the surroundings.
Suddenly, a large black hand appeared behind him, nearly scaring the tense Conan to death.
"How about that? Scared you, huh?"
Conan rolled his eyes at the sudden appearance of Hattori Heiji.
“You’ve come at the right time. I’ve run into a tricky case…” Hattori deflated upon seeing the IDs on their hands. “So you’re in the same boat.”
"So you're the detective who's still investigating."
"Yes, Kazuha has been taken hostage, but she is still enjoying herself at the amusement park without knowing it."
Looking at the grinning Hattori, Taira Kiyoshi was speechless. Kazuha was really unlucky to have such a heartless guy.
"Hattori, I have to say you're being incredibly carefree. Even if you don't want to say why, you should at least tell Kazuha not to leave Fantasy Park. If Kazuha gets into trouble because she's trying to leave Fantasy Park to find you, you'll have no one to blame but yourself."
Hattori's smile froze instantly. "Ah? I... I'll tell her right away."
Meanwhile, Kazuha, who was searching for someone at the fantasy park, encountered Ran, who was with her child. "Kazuha, what's wrong? You look very angry."
"It's all because of Heiji! He left me here all alone, wouldn't answer my calls, and sent me some weird message telling me not to leave. It's infuriating!"
Upon hearing this, Ran noticed the ID on Kazuha's wrist, realizing that Hattori hadn't told Kazuha the truth, and immediately took Kazuha's arm.
"Never mind them, they've probably run into some case. You know how they are, they get carried away when they're on a case and forget everything else."
After sending a message to Kazuha, Hattori finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Out of the corner of his eye, Conan spotted an armored truck passing by, and his eyes lit up. He immediately gave chase. Seeing this, Hattori followed closely behind.
They tracked the suspect all the way to the bank and found a fortune-telling stall nearby. They immediately began questioning the stall. The answer they received was that around April 4th, at approximately the same time, an armored truck robbery had occurred.
After sharing the information with Uncle Mori, who was acting alone, Conan sighed, "The clue about the carriage road probably ends here. How are we supposed to solve this with just these few clues?"
Hattori raised an eyebrow. "I haven't finished deciphering it yet. The clues I got are 'an outdoor cafe at night' and 'YOU CRY'."
"Yokohama Ocean University, located in the suburbs of Yokohama."
Hattori nodded. "Let's go see what's going on."
Ping Qing glanced at the black car parked by the roadside out of the corner of his eye, and slowly followed behind the two.
……
Yokohama Marine University.
Conan and Hattori stood in front of the bulletin board, brainstorming furiously about the meaning of CRY. Meanwhile, Hirai, bored, yawned and saw someone walk over and wink at him.
"Crime Research of Yokohama, I think this club is the closest to the correct answer."
The two turned around and looked at each other. Hattori asked in surprise, "Who are you?"
Kaito Kuroba, disguised as Hakuba Saguru, put one hand in his pocket and curled his lips slightly. "Hakuba Saguru, in every sense, is someone who is on the same side as you."
Hattori looked the person up and down curiously, "Are you on the same side as me?"
Conan blinked, recognizing this as a fellow sufferer who had gone through the ordeal together at the Twilight Villa. "The son of the Superintendent General and a high school detective, right?"
"I see, just like me, the son of the Osaka Prefectural Police Chief."
"That's not all." He gestured to the ID on his wrist, "Someone important to me is also in Fantasyland. Enough talk, or I'll really cry if I waste any more time. My eyes are going to be swollen from crying."
On the way, Kaito Kuroba approached Heikiyo and asked, "Heikiyo-nii, when did you get back?"
"It's been a few days."
"Are you OK."
Hearing that Kaito Kuroba was worried about him, Hirai looked at him with some surprise, then smiled and said, "It's alright, don't worry."
"It's good that you're alright. I was terrified that day. By the way, this thing should be very simple for you, so why did you..."
Ping Qing shrugged. "Isn't this just too boring?"
Besides, he's been gone for so long, he should take this opportunity to make his presence known to Conan.
Seeing the two talking together, Conan asked curiously, "Are you two close?" He didn't think he had seen the two of them together before.
"Kid, there are some topics you shouldn't know."
Conan: ...
We're all the same age, what is there that he can't know?
"Okay, we met because we crossed paths during a mission."
Thinking about Hirakiyo's FBI identity, Conan finally understood that operating in Japan sometimes required dealing with the police. As for the specific mission, even if he talked himself hoarse today, Hirakiyo wouldn't tell him.
After a noisy and chaotic journey, the group arrived at the Crime Research Club, where photos of past club presidents and group photos of club members were displayed on the walls.
Just then, the annoying ringtone went off.
"I'm truly surprised that you've uncovered this much based solely on YOU CRY. There are no more hints now, so I'm looking forward to seeing how you all fared, young detectives."
Without any hints, Hattori and Conan were in a dilemma.
Just then, two members of the research club walked in. They looked quite surprised to see the four of them. "You guys? What's the matter?"
