Model worker and his little darling

Chapter 375 Full Moon - The Beginning

Lightning flashed across the sky, and torrential rain poured down, soaking pedestrians who had no time to dodge.

A man pulled his hat down further as he walked, glancing around. The sudden downpour was making him very uncomfortable; his clothes were stuck to his body.

They hurried past and quickly disappeared into the alley, passing by a very inconspicuous black sedan.

“I found out that Shuichi Akai is here, and that guy was also an FBI agent.”

Heiji observed the surrounding environment and had to admit that Shuichi Akai had chosen a really good place.

There are shops at the entrance of the alley, and beyond that is a large open space where you can see everything that happens clearly.

Wow, Amuro Tooru managed to find it even when it was hiding in a place like this. Impressive.

Could it be some kind of special destiny?

Wow, it seems like a lot of people like shipping these two.

Sensing Hirai's strange gaze, Amuro Tooru stared straight ahead and remained silent. This cheap boss has always been mentally unstable; arguing with him would only drive me crazy.

Suppressing his wandering thoughts, Pingqing looked at Amuro Tooru with a smile, "Well done!"

……

As the rain intensified, Shuichi Akai frowned, exuding a sense of unease, as if something bad was about to happen.

“Show, Carmel is back.”

Upon hearing Judy's voice, Shuichi Akai turned around and saw a soaking wet Camel. "Go change your clothes first."

Carmel nodded and went into the room; the sticky feeling was very uncomfortable.

After Carmel changed his clothes, he told them the information he had found out.

"Nobody noticed you, right?"

Carmel shook his head. "Don't worry, Mr. Akai, I've been very careful along the way. Besides, with this heavy rain, no one will pay attention to people on the road."

Shuichi Akai's tightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly, but he still had a lingering sense of unease.

"I don't know if this operation will go smoothly. I didn't expect that organization to be so perceptive." Judy sighed. Actually, they had just changed their base because they had spotted suspicious individuals outside their previous base a few days ago.

"We need to be extra careful, especially in times like these. The people in that organization are not easy to deal with." Moreover, their opponent this time is a very troublesome individual.

Hearing this, Jodie looked at Shuichi Akai with concern, "Shuichi, your health..."

I don't know how the people in that organization managed to plant a bomb in Xiu's car and cause him such serious injuries.

Although they had no evidence, they all assumed that the organization had done it.

Before Judy could finish speaking, Shuichi Akai interrupted her, "Don't worry, everything's alright now."

When the organization was mentioned, Shuichi Akai was momentarily lost in thought, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes, and a melancholy figure flashing through his mind.

But Shuichi Akai quickly returned to normal.

……

They thought they could get some information, but the three of them didn't say anything.

Shuichi Akai, Jodie.

Ping Qing lowered his eyes; perhaps that thing could be put to use.

“Bourbon, given how much work you've been doing and how hard you're working, I really can't bear to see you continue to overwork yourself. So, I've decided to let you get some rest…”

After a series of inflections, Pingqing finally finished speaking, "One night."

Seeing that Amuro Tooru didn't react, Taira Kiyoshi shrugged. "Get some rest. We have a new mission tomorrow."

……

As a phone call to Professor Agasa's house rang, Ai Haibara walked to the landline and answered it.

"Ah, sorry to bother you so late. This is Dr. Araide. Is Professor Agasa here?" Vermouth asked with a smile on the other end of the phone, her tone almost identical to that of Dr. Araide.

"The Doctor isn't here," Haibara said, walking towards the sofa with the phone in her hand. "Is there something you need from the Doctor?"

"Actually, I called to see you because you mentioned last time that your cold hasn't gotten better. So, I thought it would be better if you went to a well-equipped hospital for a check-up."

"I asked a doctor I know, but he's away on a business trip and is only free tonight. I don't know if you have time, or I can call Dr. Agasa later."

"Is it convenient for me to pick you up now? I won't force you if you don't want to."

Haibara gave a faint "Mmm".

Vermouth stood up with a forced laugh on the other end of the phone. "Great, it's decided then. I should be there in an hour. Get ready, and we'll leave as soon as I arrive."

At this moment, they weren't the only ones who heard these words; Judy, who had been eavesdropping on the new patient at the hospital, was also there.

"I understand," Haibara replied coldly as always.

Vermouth curled her lips into a mocking smile.

"See you later."

After hanging up the phone, Haibara became lost in thought. She knew those people were coming after a friend of Professor Agasa called Professor Agasa away.

After tonight, it will all be over.

……

"What happened up ahead?" On the way to Professor Agasa's house, the road ahead was mostly blocked by road signs with warning signs.

"Excuse me, a construction truck's cargo has overturned. We are currently handling it urgently. Could you please wait a moment?" A man in work clothes walked to the truck window with an apologetic expression.

Vermouth was unwilling to get entangled with the other party any further, even though she knew that this group of people had been deliberately sent by them to obstruct her.

“But I have urgent business to attend to, so I’ll take a detour.” Immediately afterward, a large truck blocked the road behind her. Vermouth sighed; these FBI agents were really annoying.

"I'm so sorry." The man looked apologetic, adjusting his helmet with his hand, but his eyes, hidden in the shadows, held a sharp edge.

Shinichi Akira ignored him, but her frequent glances at her watch betrayed her anxiety.

Fortunately, not long after, the car window was knocked on again.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, the road has been cleared." The man said with a smile.

"Thank you for your hard work, goodbye." Vermouth closed the car door, stepped on the gas, and drove away.

Seeing Shinichiro's car drive past, the man's smile instantly froze. He took out his walkie-talkie, his tone no longer as gentle as before, "She's already gone."

……

"Ding-dong-"

When Haibara opened the door, she saw Jodie with a big smile on her face.

"Hi~, I'm the English teacher at Teitan High School, which is under Dr. Araide's supervision. His car broke down a little on the way here, so he asked me to come and pick you up in his place."

Haibara nodded and followed Jodie outside.

Just then, Shinichi arrived and watched as Judy led a little girl into the car. Seeing the two leave, Shinichi chuckled and followed them.

The key figures are in place.

Pingqing looked at the full moon in the sky and smiled brightly.

"Everyone, enjoy the night to the fullest!"
