Assistant Lin asked in confusion, "Mr. Huo, are you trying to test Madam?"

Huo Jingmo gave a faint "hmm" and said, "I want to know what her purpose is in staying by my side, and what she really wants?"

Assistant Lin: "Mr. Huo, are you implying that she has ulterior motives for being by your side?"

Huo Jingmo lowered his eyes to look at his legs and said, "It's just a suspicion."

Then, with a proud tone, he said, "The people I've set my sights on are naturally extraordinary."

"Therefore, keep a close eye on the lady's every move. Don't underestimate yourselves or treat women with disrespect. You'll suffer the consequences."

Assistant Lin: "Mr. Huo, since you came back, Long Ting has been protecting Madam in secret. With Long Ting here, you can rest assured."

"However, boss, oh no, Mr. Huo, won't your wife be angry with you for spying on her like this?"

Huo Jingmo thought for a moment: "She shouldn't be angry about something like this, right?"

Assistant Lin said with a hint of surprise, "Mr. Huo, please try moving it again."

Huo Jingmo then realized that his legs had returned to normal and he could feel them again.

Huo Jingmo pinched it lightly with his hand and could feel it.

Huo Jingmo said to his assistant Lin, "Don't make a fuss about it yet, don't tell anyone."

Assistant Lin quickly replied, "Yes."

Just as Assistant Lin finished agreeing to Huo Jingmo's request, a cheerful figure came to their side.

Ruan Qian'an smiled at Huo Jingmo and said, "You're back. Did you miss me?"

The joy in Huo Jingmo's dark eyes had not yet faded, and his eyes seemed to sparkle like stars.

Ruan Qian'an slowly walked up to Huo Jingmo: "Are you that happy?"

Huo Jingmo raised his head and looked at Ruan Qian'an with pleading eyes, looking extremely pitiful.

As if feeling insecure, he pulled Ruan Qian'an tightly into his arms.

Ruan Qian'an touched Huo Jingmo's hair, making his meticulously combed hairstyle messy.

Assistant Lin, standing to the side, turned his head away with a slight blush on his cheeks, trying his best to minimize his presence.

Zhang Yushu returned to her room and turned on the light with a snap.

I tossed my bag onto my bed and was about to lie down when I caught a glimpse of a figure out of the corner of my eye, like a ghost.

She screamed in fright, "Ah!"

Still in a state of panic, she looked carefully in that direction and realized that it was Ruan Qian'an sitting on the windowsill.

Zhang Yushu instantly became furious, demanding, "What are you doing here? How did you get in?!"

Ruan Qian'an had one leg bent and the other dangling and swinging incessantly.

While Zhang Yushu was startled, Ruan Qian'an didn't look at her, but only at the curtains being blown by the wind. Only after Zhang Yushu questioned her did Ruan Qian'an spare her a glance.

With a lollipop in her mouth, Ruan Qian'an raised her hand to stop Zhang Yushu's startled expression and said, "Wait a moment."

Zhang Yushu looked at Ruan Qian'an with suspicion, wondering what kind of trouble she was up to, and for a moment she obeyed her and did not move.

Ruan Qian'an reached down to her lower back with her other hand, looking at Zhang Yushu with a smile.

She slowly pulled a black pistol from behind her waist and attached a silencer to it.

He then pointed to Zhang Yushu.

Zhang Yushu stared in disbelief at Ruan Qian'an's series of actions, raising her hand to try and stop him.

She was so flustered that she raised her hand to try to stop it, which showed that she had never experienced anything like this before, and her behavior made her seem very naive.

Seeing her movements, Ruan Qian'an fired a shot near her feet.

Caught off guard, Zhang Yushu was startled and retreated repeatedly, trying to reach the door. However, due to her nervousness, she retreated in the wrong direction until she had nowhere left to go.

Ruan Qian'an said cheerfully, "What are you doing, trying to run away?"

Ruan Qian'an jumped down from the windowsill, took the lollipop out of her mouth, walked towards Zhang Yushu, and said, "Do you know why I came to find you?"

Zhang Yushu pressed herself against the wall, worried that Ruan Qian'an's pistol might accidentally discharge. She remained motionless against the wall and whispered, "I don't know."

Ruan Qian'an scoffed: "Still playing dumb? What have you been up to today?"

Zhang Yushu retorted, "Why are you asking this? What business is it of yours where I go?"

Ruan Qian'an raised the pistol twice, almost touching Zhang Yushu's face, and said, "Is it alright?"

Zhang Yushu closed her eyes in fright: "!"

Ruan Qian'an put the candy back in her mouth and said, "I'm interrogating you, not questioning you."

Zhang Yushu seemed deflated, then said, "It was your fault to begin with, so it's only natural that I would retaliate against you. But I haven't caused you any harm!"
