The War of Resistance Against Japan: Special Operations Battalion Traverses Shanghai and Slaughters
Chapter 385 Three Requirements
Molotov saw that his threats had no effect; the other party, a mere colonel, completely disregarded him.
He stomped his foot in anger, turned around and boarded the plane. After sitting down angrily, he loudly gave orders.
"Take off immediately and return to base."
However, the pilot did not start the plane after hearing this, but instead went to Molotov's secretary.
"Comrade Secretary, please tell Comrade Molotov that the plane cannot take off because it needs refueling."
The secretary nodded repeatedly, then carefully approached Molotov, lowered his head, and whispered.
"Comrade Molotov, the pilot said the plane needs refueling or it won't be able to take off."
Molotov retorted angrily, "Go ahead and add fuel, what are you talking to me about?"
Seeing that Molotov was still angry, the secretary dared not say anything more and immediately turned around and got off the plane.
The secretary approached the monk and requested, "Colonel, please refuel our plane. We need to return to base. Thank you."
After listening to the translation, the monk grinned and said, "You want to cheer me on? No problem, but you'll have to pay."
The secretary stared at the monk with a shocked expression, highly doubting that he had misheard.
"Colonel, we're here to negotiate. Shouldn't you be cheering us on for free?"
The monk's reply was straightforward: "We didn't invite you here; you requested to come for talks."
Then, the monk said impatiently, "Don't waste my time. If you want gas, pay up. If not, get lost."
When the secretary saw that the monk was actually cursing, she was so angry that she turned around and went back to the plane.
The secretary knew he couldn't solve this problem, because who the hell would carry that much money on them?
"Comrade Molotov, the other party said that if we want to refuel, we need to pay."
"What? Are they crazy? How could they make such a request? It's outrageous!"
Seeing Molotov roar in anger, the secretary was too frightened to say anything.
At this moment, Zhigarev stood up and offered, "Comrade Molotov, should I go and negotiate with them?"
Molotov glanced at Zhigarev and nodded silently.
Zhigalev stepped off the plane and approached the monk.
"Colonel, how is your Dragon Corps Commander doing lately? I miss him very much."
After listening to the translation, the monk asked doubtfully, "Do you know our legion commander?"
Zhigalev hurriedly smiled and nodded, saying, "Of course I know him. He once saved my life; he's my savior."
Now, the monk's attitude towards Zhigalev improved significantly.
"I see. Our corps commander is at your Far East Regional Headquarters. If you want to see him, I can take you there."
Zhigalev immediately seized the opportunity and said, "Colonel, we came here specifically to hold talks with you, and I also brought a gift for Commander Long."
Seeing that Zhigalev spoke kindly and without the slightest arrogance, the monk had a good impression of him.
"Since we're here for talks, we're on equal footing. Why are you putting on airs and looking down on me because I'm just a colonel?"
"I am the bodyguard of the Dragon Legion Commander. The fact that our legion commander sent me is already a great honor for you."
The monk was quite eloquent; upon hearing these words, Zhigalev immediately felt relieved.
"Alright, Colonel, I'll go report to my superiors right away. Please wait a moment."
Zhigarev hurried back onto the plane and then reported to Motolov.
"Comrade Molotov, the colonel sent by Long Fei is his bodyguard."
Molotov didn't immediately understand: "What do you mean by that?"
"What I mean is that the fact that he was able to become Long Fei's bodyguard shows that Long Fei trusts and appreciates him immensely."
"Furthermore, Long Fei sent him to greet you not because he looked down on you, but because he sent the person he trusted most."
Molotov nodded in agreement with Zhigarev's analysis.
"You mean you want me to continue with the original plan and go to meet Long Fei?"
"Yes, that's right." Zhigalev nodded decisively in affirmation.
Seeing that Molotov was still hesitant, Zhigarev spoke again.
"None of us brought much money with us. If things get really bad and we have to turn back, we won't have any money for gas, and we'll just be stuck here."
This statement finally made Molotov concede.
"Okay, you make a good point. Let's get off the plane and go see Long Fei."
Half an hour later, the monk led Molotov's negotiation delegation into the conference room of what was originally their Far East Regional Command.
After receiving the report, Long Fei slowly walked into the conference room.
As Long Fei entered the room, he suddenly saw Zhigalev and his eyes lit up.
Zhigalev, also excited, strode forward and embraced Long Fei tightly.
"Oh, Dragon, my good brother, I'm so happy to see you again."
Long Fei replied, "Comrade Zhigarev, it's a pleasure to meet you too. How have you been lately?"
"I'm fine, thank you for your concern."
"How are you doing? I heard your unit is developing rapidly and has eliminated quite a few Japanese soldiers."
"haha, yes."
After exchanging greetings, Long Fei looked at Molotov's cold face and immediately understood their purpose in bringing Zhigarev along.
"Oh, Dragon, let me introduce you. This is Comrade Molotov, the head of our negotiation delegation from the Russian Kingdom."
"Comrade Molotov, this is General Long Fei, the commander of the Dragon Flame Legion."
After Zhigalev's introduction, the two shook hands politely.
"Please have a seat. If you have anything you'd like to discuss, please speak up."
After gesturing with his hand, Long Fei sat down and lit a cigarette.
Molotov sat down and spoke impatiently.
"General Long, we have recently had a very unpleasant conflict. Today, I have been entrusted by Comrade Stalin to come here specifically to negotiate with you."
Long Fei exhaled a puff of smoke, expressionless, and gently raised his hand: "Continue."
Molotov looked at Long Fei, and although he was dissatisfied, he continued to speak.
"We have three demands. First, you must release all prisoners of war unconditionally."
"Second, you must immediately withdraw from all occupied cities and regions and retreat to your own Huaxia Kingdom."
"Third, immediately release the leaders of the Horseback Kingdom and refrain from infringing upon or interfering with its sovereignty."
Actually, there was a fourth point, which was to compensate the Rakshasa Kingdom for all its losses.
However, Molotov believed that the other party would definitely not agree to this fourth request.
He also believed that the Dragon Flame Legion must be very poor and couldn't afford to pay much compensation.
So I temporarily swallowed this fourth requirement.
"Are these the only three requirements you have?" Long Fei asked casually.
“Yes.” Molotov nodded.
Long Fei then stubbed out his cigarette and asked in return.
"What if I don't agree to these three demands?"
