Transmigrating to become Hua Qiangu
Chapter 89 Undercurrents Beneath the Calm
On Mount Changliu, the sun shone brightly, and a gentle breeze caressed the hair of Hua Qiangu and her companions. They were all immersed in a brief moment of joy after celebrating their victory over the Demon Lord.
"This was really close! I thought we were going to perish in the Demon Abyss!" You Ruo said, patting her chest with lingering fear.
"Hmph! Those little minions, how could they possibly stop us?" Sha Qianmo tossed his hair arrogantly.
Tang Bao bounced and hopped on Hua Qiangu's shoulder, "Mommy, we're so amazing! But we'll still have to go on adventures together in the future!"
"Yes, Tang Bao, as long as we're together, we're not afraid of any difficulties." Hua Qiangu smiled and patted Tang Bao's head.
At this moment, Luo Shiyi walked over and said, "Xiao Gu, everyone was seriously injured this time, so we need to take good care of ourselves."
“Yes, Senior Brother Luo Shiyi is right. Everyone can rest well at Changliu Mountain during this time and use the spiritual spring and pills in the space to recover from their injuries,” Hua Qiangu nodded.
The adorable baby flew out of the space, "Sister, I've prepared the spiritual spring, everyone come quickly!"
The group headed toward the Spirit Spring, discussing their experiences in the Demon Abyss as they went.
"That Demon Lord is truly powerful. If we hadn't worked together, we wouldn't have been a match for him," Shuofeng remarked.
"Yes, and when Xiao Gu used her primordial power at the end, I was sweating bullets. That power was so difficult to control," Dongfang Yuqing said, looking at Hua Qiangu.
"I'm also afraid of losing control, but with everyone here, I have the courage." Hua Qiangu's eyes shone with gratitude.
Bai Zihua looked at Hua Qiangu with a hint of relief in his eyes, "Xiao Gu, you did very well this time. You did not back down at all when facing such a powerful enemy."
"Master, this is all thanks to everyone. Without you all, I wouldn't have been able to defeat the Demon Lord on my own," Hua Qiangu replied with a smile.
After soaking in the spiritual spring for a while, everyone felt their injuries had improved considerably. However, the patriarch had a furrowed brow, as if he had something on his mind.
"Grandmaster, what's wrong? Is something worrying you?" Hua Qiangu asked as she walked to the Grandmaster's side.
The patriarch sighed, "Little Bone, don't you think things went a little too smoothly this time? The appearance of the Demon Lord and his conspiracy seem to suggest that there is an even greater force manipulating things behind the scenes."
Upon hearing this, Hua Qiangu's expression turned serious. "Grandmaster, are you saying that this is just the beginning?"
“That’s right, we can’t let our guard down, we need to prepare early,” the patriarch said solemnly.
"Then what should we do?" Hua Qiangu looked at the patriarch.
"Let's strengthen our defenses at Changliu Mountain first, and at the same time send people to gather information and see if there's anything unusual," the patriarch said.
So, Hua Qiangu and her companions began to take action. Changliu Mountain's defenses became even more formidable under their arrangement, and the disciples all became more vigilant.
A few days later, the disciple who had been sent out to gather information returned.
"Something terrible has happened! Senior Sister Hua Qiangu, we've discovered some strange phenomena outside the mountain. Black fog has appeared in many places, and wherever this fog goes, the flowers, plants, and trees wither. In addition, some villagers have gone missing," the disciple reported in a panic.
"What? It seems there really is a problem." Hua Qiangu frowned.
"Let's go take a look!" Sha Qianmo said, preparing to set off.
"Wait, Sister Sha, we can't act rashly. We need to understand the situation first," Hua Qiangu stopped him.
"How can we find out? We can't just stand by and watch those villagers suffer!" Sha Qianmo said anxiously.
“We can start by asking the families of the missing villagers to see if there are any clues,” Dongfang Yuqing suggested.
The group agreed, so they split into several groups and headed to nearby villages. Hua Qiangu and Tang Bao were in one group and arrived at a small village.
A somber atmosphere permeated the village, and many villagers were weeping. Hua Qiangu found the wife of a missing villager.
"Sister-in-law, can you tell me if there was anything unusual about your husband before he disappeared?" Hua Qiangu asked softly.
“Young lady, that night, my husband suddenly said he saw a strange light outside, so he went out to check, and then he never came back,” the woman said, crying.
"Do you still remember what that light looked like?" Hua Qiangu continued to ask.
“It’s a purple light, it looks very eerie,” the older sister-in-law replied.
Hua Qiangu and Tang Bao inquired with other villagers and obtained largely the same information. After returning to Changliu Mountain, everyone compiled the clues they had collected.
"Purple light? What could that be?" You Ruo scratched her head in confusion.
“Whatever it is, it must be related to that black mist. We have to follow this lead,” Hua Qiangu said.
"I think we can set traps where the black fog and purple light appear, and see if we can catch something," Shuofeng suggested.
"That's a good idea, let's do it that way." Hua Qiangu nodded in agreement.
They set traps at several suspicious locations and then hid nearby, waiting.
Night fell, and the sky was covered with dark clouds, not a sliver of moonlight could penetrate. Suddenly, a purple light flashed in the distance.
"They're here! Everyone get ready!" Hua Qiangu said in a low voice.
The purple light grew brighter and brighter, followed by a surge of black mist. As it approached the trap, a dark figure darted out from the mist.
"Hmph! Trying to trap me?" the dark figure uttered in a low voice.
"Who are you? Why did you create this black fog and kidnap the villagers?" Hua Qiangu stepped forward and questioned.
"I am the messenger of darkness, and all of you meddlesome fools will die!" The shadowy figure said as it lunged at Hua Qiangu.
The group immediately appeared and engaged the shadowy figure in battle. The shadowy figure was incredibly powerful, and its body could move freely through the mist, making it difficult to attack.
"This thing is tough to deal with!" Luo Shiyi shouted.
"We'll force it out of the fog!" Sha Qianmo said, casting a spell to dispel the fog.
As the fog thinned, the shadowy figure became somewhat sluggish. Hua Qiangu seized the opportunity and launched an attack, striking the shadowy figure.
The shadowy figure let out a scream, "You wait, I won't let you get away with this!" With that, it turned into a wisp of black smoke and fled.
"Don't let it get away!" Shuofeng prepared to give chase.
"Forget it, let's check if there are any clues in the trap first," Hua Qiangu stopped him.
They came to the edge of the trap and found a black scale inside.
“These scales look strange. Could they have been left by that shadowy figure?” Tang Bao said, picking up a scale.
“Let’s take it back and study it; maybe we can find out its origin,” the patriarch said.
Back at Changliu Mountain, everyone sat together studying the scales. Suddenly, the scales emitted a light, and some blurry images appeared within the light.
"This is..." Hua Qiangu looked at the image in surprise. The image seemed to be a dark castle surrounded by a lot of black mist.
"Could this be the Shadow's lair?" Dongfang Yuqing wondered.
"It's very likely that we should go and take a look at this castle," Hua Qiangu made up her mind.
"Little Bone, this might be a trap. We need to be careful," Bai Zihua warned.
“Master, I know, but we can’t just sit idly by. Those missing villagers are waiting for us to rescue them,” Hua Qiangu said firmly.
So, Hua Qiangu and her companions embarked on their journey once again, heading towards the Dark Castle. Along the way, they encountered various traps and obstacles, but they overcame them all.
Finally, they arrived at the gates of the dark castle. The castle was eerie and terrifying, exuding a suffocating atmosphere.
"Let's go in!" Hua Qiangu took a deep breath and led the way into the castle.
A black fog filled the castle, reducing visibility. They walked cautiously when suddenly they heard a mournful scream.
“It’s those missing villagers!” Youruo shouted.
They walked toward the sound and found a cell containing many villagers.
"Don't be afraid, everyone, we're here to save you!" Hua Qiangu said.
Just as they were about to open the cell, a burst of arrogant laughter echoed from inside the castle.
"You've finally arrived, you fools who walked right into our trap!" The shadowy figure reappeared, now surrounded by many more dark creatures.
"Hmph! Now that we're here, we don't intend to leave empty-handed." Hua Qiangu gripped her weapon, ready for battle.
"You think you can easily rescue these villagers? You're too naive!" the shadowy figure sneered.
The two sides once again engaged in fierce battle. This time, the enemies were more numerous and stronger than before, but Hua Qiangu and her companions were not afraid at all. In order to save the villagers and protect peace, they fought a desperate battle against the dark creatures.
During the battle, Hua Qiangu discovered that these dark creatures were all afraid of the power of light.
"Everyone, attack with light magic!" Hua Qiangu shouted.
The group cast spells of light, and the dark creatures retreated in the light. Seeing the situation was dire, the shadowy figure tried to flee.
"Don't even think about running!" Sha Qianmo chased after him and engaged in a one-on-one battle with the shadowy figure.
After a fierce battle, they finally defeated the shadowy figures and dark creatures, and rescued the villagers.
"Thank you! If it weren't for you, we would be dead," the villagers said gratefully.
"No need to thank me, everyone. This is what we should do," Hua Qiangu said with a smile.
After leading the villagers back to Changliu Mountain, Hua Qiangu knew that the struggle against the forces of darkness was far from over, and they had to remain vigilant at all times to protect the world.
During their time on Changliu Mountain, Hua Qiangu and her companions continued their cultivation while strengthening their defenses against the forces of darkness. They knew that every period of calm could be the calm before the storm, and their task was to become a sturdy shield protecting the world when the storm arrived.
However, the events at Dark Castle did not end there. Deep within the castle, a mysterious figure watched everything from the shadows, seemingly plotting a larger conspiracy. A new crisis was quietly approaching...
