Transmigrating to become Hua Qiangu
Chapter 130 First Encounter in the Misty Forest
The gentle morning sunlight bathed Changliu Mountain in a golden glow, draping this tranquil sacred mountain in a shimmering light. Hua Qiangu, Bai Zihua, Sha Qianmo, and a select group of elite disciples gathered before the mountain gate. Dressed in neat uniforms, their expressions solemn, their equipment gleaming coldly in the sunlight. Everyone knew that this journey to the Misty Forest would be fraught with unknowns and dangers.
"Listen up, everyone!" Bai Zihua stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over each disciple. "The Misty Forest is fraught with danger. Not only are there all sorts of ferocious beasts, but there may also be unknown traps and strange spells lurking within. Our purpose here is to find the 'Heart of Chaos' and stop the Shadow Cult's conspiracy. Along the way, everyone must follow orders and not act on their own."
"Yes, Elder!" the disciples responded in unison, their voices echoing through the valley, demonstrating their unwavering determination.
"Let's go!" Bai Zihua gave the order, and the group set off on the road to the Misty Forest.
Changliu Mountain was far from the Misty Forest, and the group traveled day and night. Along the way, the mountains rose and fell, the trees were lush and green, and occasionally a few clear birdsongs broke the silence of the journey.
After several days of trekking, they finally reached the edge of the Misty Forest. Thick fog permeated the forest, billowing and swirling like a tangible substance, completely obscuring its interior and making it impossible to see anything within. Occasionally, a sinister aura emanated from the fog, sending chills down their spines.
"This fog is indeed not simple. Everyone, be careful," Hua Qiangu said cautiously, frowning. She tightened her grip on the divine weapon in her hand, a hint of vigilance in her eyes.
"Hmph, no matter how powerful the fog is, it can't stop us." Sha Qianmo said disdainfully, his arms crossed, exuding a powerful demonic aura, as if he didn't care about the impending danger at all.
The group slowly entered the Misty Forest, whereupon the fog instantly enveloped them. Visibility was extremely low, allowing them to see only a few steps ahead. The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the rustling sound of their footsteps on fallen leaves.
"Everyone, stay close together and don't get separated," Bai Zihua said in a low voice, his voice echoing clearly in the mist.
As they walked, one of the disciples suddenly slipped and nearly fell. "Be careful! The ground here is very slippery," he warned.
Just then, a deep roar came from ahead. The sound echoed in the fog, making it impossible to discern its source.
"There's a monster! Everyone, prepare for battle!" Bai Zihua immediately drew his longsword, its blade gleaming with a cold light.
The group quickly formed battle formation, watching the area ahead warily. As the roar grew closer, a massive figure gradually emerged from the mist. It was a monstrous beast resembling a tiger, its entire body covered in black scales, its eyes flashing with an eerie red light, and a nauseating green slime flowing from its mouth.
"What kind of monster is this? I've never seen one before," a disciple said nervously, his hands trembling slightly.
"Whatever it is, deal with it first!" Sha Qianmo shouted and charged forward. His figure was like lightning, instantly arriving in front of the demonic beast. He swung his weapon fiercely, unleashing a powerful burst of demonic energy towards the beast.
Sensing the threat, the beast roared and charged at Sha Qianmo with a powerful leap. Its speed was incredible, like a black lightning bolt.
"Sister Killer, be careful!" Hua Qiangu shouted. She quickly cast a spell, and a beam of light shot out from the divine artifact, flying towards the demon beast.
The other disciples also cast spells, and for a moment, various magical lights flickered in the mist, illuminating a small area.
The demonic beast appeared somewhat disheveled under the onslaught of the group. It dodged left and right, avoiding some attacks, but was still struck in the back by Sha Qianmo's demonic power. It roared in pain and turned to pounce on Hua Qiangu.
"Xiao Gu, be careful!" Upon seeing this, Bai Zihua immediately flew in front of Hua Qiangu and blocked the monster's attack with a swing of his longsword.
"Master!" Hua Qiangu felt a warmth in her heart. Taking this opportunity, she once again used the power of the divine artifact, and a powerful beam of light shot towards the demon beast.
The demonic beast was struck by the beam of light, letting out a miserable cry and swaying a few times. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Sha Qianmo launched another attack, his weapon plunging deep into the demonic beast's body.
The monster struggled for a few moments before finally collapsing to the ground, turning into a pool of black blood.
"Phew, finally solved." A disciple breathed a sigh of relief, his face showing exhaustion.
"Everyone, don't let your guard down. Who knows how many dangers are still lurking in this misty forest," Bai Zihua said, his gaze sweeping around.
The group continued onward, the fog seeming to thicken, and the surrounding environment growing increasingly eerie. Suddenly, a fork in the road appeared ahead, both paths shrouded in fog, their ends obscured.
"Which way should we take?" a disciple asked.
Everyone fell into deep thought, unsure of what to choose.
"Wait, I think I can sense a faint aura coming from the left path." Hua Qiangu closed her eyes and carefully sensed it.
"Could it be the aura of the 'Heart of Chaos'?" Sha Qianmo asked.
“That’s possible. Let’s go to the left and take a look first,” Bai Zihua said.
So the group headed down the road to the left. They proceeded cautiously, constantly alert to their surroundings.
As they walked, a figure appeared ahead. The figure was indistinct in the mist, and its features were not clearly visible.
"Who is it? Show yourself!" Sha Qianmo shouted.
The figure slowly approached, gradually becoming clearer. It turned out to be a woman dressed in a white robe, with an exquisitely beautiful face and a mysterious aura in her eyes.
"Who are you? Why have you trespassed on my territory?" The woman's voice was clear and melodious, echoing like silver bells in the mist.
“We are from Changliu Mountain, here to search for the ‘Heart of Chaos.’ May I ask who you are, young lady, and why you are here?” Hua Qiangu asked.
The woman frowned slightly. "'The Heart of Chaos'? What do you want with it?"
"The Shadow Cult is searching for the 'Heart of Chaos,' attempting to use its power to rule the world of immortals and heroes. We must stop their plot," Bai Zihua said.
A hint of surprise flashed in the woman's eyes. "The Shadow Cult? I didn't expect their ambitions to be so great."
“Since you are here, young lady, you must be very familiar with this Misty Forest. Could you please give us some guidance?” Hua Qiangu said, her eyes filled with anticipation.
The woman pondered for a moment, then said, “I can give you guidance, but you must agree to one condition.”
"What are your conditions? Please tell me, young lady," Bai Zihua said.
“Help me find something. I’ve lost an important treasure in this forest. If you help me find it, I’ll tell you where the ‘Heart of Chaos’ might be,” the woman said.
"Alright, we promise you. May I ask what treasure you lost, young lady?" Hua Qiangu asked.
“It’s a jade pendant, and it’s very important to me. It has unique patterns engraved on it and emits a faint blue light,” the woman said.
“Okay, we will definitely help you find it,” Hua Qiangu said.
“Come with me. I’ll take you to a safe place to rest first. This misty forest is full of dangers, especially at night,” the woman said.
The group followed the woman through the mist, and soon arrived at the entrance to a cave. A faint light permeated the cave, seemingly a protective barrier.
“It’s safe here. You can rest here for the night. We’ll look for the jade pendant together tomorrow morning,” the woman said.
"Thank you, young lady," Bai Zihua said.
The group entered the cave, which was spacious and bright. Some glowing stones were embedded in the cave walls, making the cave as bright as day.
"Everyone, take a rest and recharge your energy. We still need to search for the jade pendant tomorrow," Bai Zihua said.
The disciples found places to sit and begin to rest. Hua Qiangu walked up to the woman and said, "Miss, may I ask your name?"
"My name is Lingyue," the woman said with a smile.
"Miss Lingyue, why do you live alone in this misty forest?" Hua Qiangu asked curiously.
Lingyue sighed softly, "It's a long story. I was originally an ordinary cultivator who came to this Misty Forest by chance. Here, I discovered some secrets that no one else knew, and in order to protect these secrets, I stayed."
"A secret unknown to others? Is it related to the 'Heart of Chaos'?" Hua Qiangu asked.
A hint of hesitation flashed in Lingyue's eyes. "It's somewhat related. However, now is not the time to tell you. I will naturally tell you once you help me find the jade pendant."
Hua Qiangu nodded slightly, "Okay, we will help you find the jade pendant as soon as possible."
Night fell, the fog thickened, and strange noises echoed through the forest. The group from Changliu Mountain rested in a cave, but what changes would their encounter with Lingyue bring to their journey? Everything remained shrouded in uncertainty…
